Zazpronk was born 70 years before the fall of Nordrassil in Gnomeregan. He led an uneventful life, occasionally doing trade with the dwarves of Ironforge. He was born without much sense for engineering or science, finding it dull and boring; but at an early age, he found that he had talent for the use of various weaponry. Another niche he found himself fitting into was poisonmaking and malicious alchemy, which grew into a sort of hobby for him. When Gnomeregan was invaded around the time that the Third War started, Zazpronk joined the defenders and put these skills to much use against the invading troggs - but sadly, yet inevitably, the gnomes' last stand fell, and they resorted to irradiating the city in their last effort to rid it of its would-be conquerors.
Zazpronk lost all family that he had left in the Siege. Filled with rage and sorrow, he sought refuge (and to forget) amongst the libraries in Ironforge's Hall of Explorers. Here, he began studying the titans with growing interest, believing them to be pivotal to Azeroth's different religions.
At one point, several paladins of the Argent Dawn came to Ironforge for refuge. Zazpronk fell in with one of them, and through this fellow soul he found previously unknown delight in the paladin's tales of the Holy Light and its virtues. Privately, Zazpronk began to draw connections between the Light and the Titans in his own mind. He began to see a web of sense forming - it was obvious that the Light was a sentient force that the Titans had drawn on the assistance of when they created Azeroth as he knew it. His belief in the light began to grow steadily, and soon, one could almost call him religious - praying every day to the force that he seemed to be the only one to truly understand. At this same time, he began to see clearly that abominations upon the Light - demons, mindless undead and troggs alike - had to be destroyed to create peace upon Azeroth. His hatred towards these beings, especially troggs, steadily grew, and he took the name Lightgear as a homage to the force of life that had shaped his world.
When the call to arms of the Siege of Northrend began, Zazpronk readily joined the Alliance forces - but barely a year into its efforts, he grew tired of its bureaucracy and left it to fight the Scourge alone. He found no interest in joining the Argent Crusade, believing it to be procrastinating and wimpy. For almost a month, he stayed in the wilderness of Icecrown, setting poisonous traps and ambushing Scourge forces. Then, out of nowhere, he returned to Ironforge, his time in solitude having brought him clearness and inspiration. He had realized that the scourge could only be beat by a force united in simple cause and belief; not by a single individual, nor by a armies caught up in their own internal meddling. Now, Zazpronk Lightgear seeks likeminded individuals to form a united crusade against forces that may jeopardize peace upon the world of Azeroth... And woe to those who stand in his way.
He is stern and cold; yet compassionate and caring for those he believe to be of similar mind as himself. In battle, he is incredibly aggressive towards his enemies, often displaying a cruel, almost sadistic nature hidden in his subconsciousness. He is a trapmaker and an ambusher, and goes to great lengths to set up complex tactics to best round up his foes.
