Cataclysm Closed Beta - NDA Lift
The NDA is lifted. You're free to discuss anything on the forums.

I didn't expect it to be lifted that soon, some pages look ugly, working on it. Recent forum posts box disabled to (try to) prevent a crash of the site.

That would be a huuuge zone then. There is the old Loch Modan, then to the right some mountain area, then to the right of that, even more zone. Plus, it doesn't look like there is an easy way to get though that dark mountain area between the lock and the highland part.

An actual map would help a lot.

I kind of wish that the legendary items could become Bind on Account and then adjusted with the level, with how much effort it takes to get them. I mean, the hunter bow was the easiest...and that was just a complete shit droprate.

Honestly Shadowmourne is not THAT hard to make.

Im not sure if anyone has already mentioned this in the thread, didnt really read all the comments, but did anyone else notice that on the section that says all the areas, it says dustwallow marsh is in eastern kingdoms, im fairly sure its surpose to be in kalimdor ^_^ also, undercity and Tirisfall should be in eastern kingdoms not kalimdor =D

I just look at Shadowmourne, Thunderfury, Sulfuron, Atiesh and with how they all have to be collected by multiple runs through a raid...I think that's hard enough to justify being able to use it on alts or at least as you level. I mean, it doesn't need to be BiS always, but even a decent weapon at 85 would be logical.

I'd still like to know if ground mounts have any use at all in Cataclysm.

Can we fly in Azeroth without buying some stupid skill like "rough weather flying"?

I hope the only change graphic-side won't be the new water effect, really this gfx engine is beginning to show a lot of limitation, even if the arts are wonderful as always.
This expansion miss something, leaves some bitter, i'd say. Probably no new talents it's something i'd never expected.

From the few hands-on around you can read that you can fly in azeroth, i think they also said it somewhere, but i cant recall where.

Currently you do not need to train any kind of new skill to fly in Azeroth. Also, they have not restricted flying in cites (of either faction).

I've also heard that unless you already have a 310% mount, you will need to buy the 310% flying speed. If you already have one, then all of your flying mounts will go at that speed.

They joked at Blizzcon about adding "warm weather flying".

So why do we need ground mounts after level 60?

The DK Blood talent tree is awesome ! Blood tanking will be more and more fun and its great that several defensive talents were moved to Blood. The recreated presences are fitting with the talent trees finally . I miss the dodge talent !

It's time to upgrade the groundmount speed imo.

Flying has too many advantages over being on the ground; you'd need to make ground mounts faster than flying before people would use them.

You don't really, outside of BGs and some instances. But is that such a bad thing? It's not like they take up room in bags anymore. And if you have mounts that you are particularly fond of, nobody will force you to use your flyer, apart from a few quests in Hyjal that require flying to complete.

How many vehicle (shudder) quests are there?
