MMO-Champion - Cataclysm Beta - Build 12479 (Updated x1)
Update - Added the models of Cho'gall (Bastion of Twilight), Atramedes (Blackwing Descent), The Tolvirs (Uldum), Lady Nazjar (Throne of Tides), Humanoid Dragon, Earthen Onager
Update - Classes pages finally added. Talent calculator finally updated. Worst patch day ever, I need a giant hug.
Update - Added official talent trees descriptions to the primary skills list.
Update - Ok things are looking better, added the primary skills for all the classes. Some tooltips might be missing/bugged, we're working on it.

Cataclysm Beta - Build 12479
A new build of the beta is up. This post will be updated multiple times during the night.

A lot of stuff has changed and we'll need a few mins to fix everything before I can post all the content. Definitely a lot of interesting stuff, stay tuned.

Talent Calculator
WoWTal.com has been updated with all the new trees. Lot of stuff is still in dev, be careful. If you can't see the new trees push CTRL + F5 to force the refresh (Also, I know the level cap is 50, quick hack to fix the max amount of points)

Classes
Classes pages are up. I might end up doing diffs of all the changes but seriously ... there are really a LOT of changes because of the talent trees revamp, it's probably easier to just check the pages.

Models
Models of Cho'gall (Bastion of Twilight), Atramedes (Blackwing Descent), The Tolvirs (Uldum), Lady Nazjar (Throne of Tides), Humanoid Dragon, Earthen Onager

    At first I was happy to hear the new overhaul they would be doing to talent trees, but now I can say I'm greatly disapointed. For example:

    - Arms warriors will lose Piercing Howl. A mandatory PvP ability that solves latency issues when you're not close enough to hamstring. If warlocks get Soul Link in tier 2 why can't we too??
    - Impale Nerfed: It no longer gives critical strike damage bonus to all abilities. Instead just affects Slam, Execute and Mortal Strike. This means Fury won't have any purpose in getting it. And of course, protection warriors too.
    - Blood Crazed nerfed too: Used to be on crit you get 6% of your life over 6 seconds. Now its 7.5% but only 10% chance to proc on HIT. Assuming PvP gear gives players around 30%+ crit chance this is rougly 20% proc chance nerf for just 1.5% more life. A waste of 3 talent points... At least make it 30% chance to proc to be on par with Enrage.
    - Improved Crusader strike in protection tree: I already foresee some 2handed protection builds for PvP exploiting the lower cooldown and increased damage.

    And that was just what I noticed at first glance.

    Also one thing I'm not liking is the discrepancy between classes and specs of the amount of passive bonus they get.
    For example unholy DK get:
    * Impurity
    * Master of Ghouls
    * Scourge Strike
    * Reaping

    On the other hand, demo locks only get:
    * Summon Felguard
    * Demonology Warlock (+hit, pushback reduction)

    These talent trees are very badly designed, even for a beta. Instead of making talent trees more interesting they are now forcing you to take a few usefull talents out of a tree and waste the rest on useless (pvp) talents... The current talent trees are much more interesting imo.
    When blizz announced cata is was full of good hopes, but blizz seems to dissapoints me every day a little more :<

    I'm not sure what has been so disappointing so far? Nor do I know which talent tree you've been looking at, i've looked at Frost Death Knights, Rogues, Enhancement Shamans and Warriors. Yes they need some work but I don't feel like i'm forced to spend talent points on unless pvp talents.

    They suck. Period. The last beta build had FAR better talents. That means they deliberatly removed them so that the next beta builds are "awesome".
    Blizzard, i am disapoint.

    I seriously did not think there was anything they could do to make me not want to play cata.... but these new trees make me sick

    2. Why complaining? Because if people dont complain, they cant expect Bizzard to change anything. I dont think rants make any difference, but actual complaining with feedback is absolutely needed if you want to have something changed.

    3. They are bad, because
    A; there are tons of passive +% talents, even tho those were supposed to be gone
    B; you have to spend points on useless talents just to get to next tier or the tree
    C; you are locked to 31 points to the tree, basically killing ANY sort of hybrid build, not even 30/11
    D; final talent of the tree is total lackluster
    E; the tree doesnt change your rotation/priority system (from not having spent single point in the tree and having 31+ in a tree) at all
    F; doesnt change your gamestyle from LK at all
    G; more than one of the above.

    Im sure I could come up with more, but I think 6 reasons is good enough?
    A: How does that make the worse than they are now? (p.s. They removed all the global passive talents, giving a specific ability a higher damage % will make you want to use that ability more often therefore changing your play style. There are no more cruelty gives you 5% extra crit for EVERYTHING.)
    B: How does that make the worse than they are now? (Do you think I want to but points in Deflection so I can get to Impale and Deep Wounds?)
    C: Exactly how many viable hybrid builds are there? 1? 2?
    D: How does that make the worse than they are now? (I don't agree with this, I mainly play an enhancement shaman, fury warrior & Frost Death Knight and I love the finally talents)
    E: Not true - Example: fury warrior wouldn't use execute without the talents and glyphs.

    I agree they promised talent trees with choices which would effect our game play. I see the effected game play, but no improvement in viable choices, it's still the same single cookie cooker builds as before (except for fury who get one choice).

    Most of your points address things that are currently already issues. The new talent trees aren't bad or worse. They're just not what they promised them to be.

    first, i never said ALL the points i made are in every tree, those were examples. Tho i can safely say 5 out of 6 apply to elemental (yes, tons of passive +% stuff, yes, 30/11 would be alot better, yes Earthquake is lackluster and yes, rotation from LK wont change one bit, not with 0 talents in ele, not with 31+ talents in ele)

    second, i never said current trees are perfect. The point is, they are COMPLETELY overhauling talent trees, yet they failed at many things so far with them AND tress dont like like anything they promised, that sounds like fail to me. And dont forget they worked on talent trees since last Blizzcon, thats what, 9 months? And this is the result?

    When I heard cataclysm was coming out I was excited for the new talent tree combinations I could make, such as having 51 point and 21 point talents at the same time and was imagining exciting situations where those could lead me in.

    Except that now Blizzard decided to kill those dreams.

    For christ's sake just leave level cap at 80 and give players who buy the expansion 5 new abilities and it is the same if you were leveling or not.
    It's funny when a nerd's "dreams" are being destroyed in a beta that was just released and absolutely nothing is finalized.

    I dont care if they arnt finished, the idea of smaller talent trees is repulsive and retarded without even whining wich talents are in them.

    I hate blizzard for making everything so bloody simple. I dont want to be able to storm through a game without a brain. This is rediculous, a child of 8 can play WoW with these simplified talents and gear stats... Screw this.

    i wish there were more people like you.

    People looking at individual talents during very very early beta and then complaining on the forums about it are wasting everybodies time.

    Complain about a mechanic or something that you dont like yeah, because that is the large idea that is being worked towards, (for example having to spend 31 points in a tree while you level) but people saying 'OMG THEY'VE GOT NOOBY TALENTS, THIS TAKES NO SKILL IM LEAVING!' is just stupid. obviously talents will change MASSIVELY before cata is released guys, thats why they have a beta so they can work on stuff and make shitloads of changes.

    Did you actually use your brain to choose your talent points before, or did you copy a spec from EJ or somewhere?

    That's what I thought.

    Not really happy that now i have to wait till lvl 70 insted of 60 to get to the bottom of the talent tree. I was really looking forward to lvling up a goblin warrior, but I think I will just make a Tauren instead.

Good job blizzard, do you even know the current talent builds for each class or do you just want people to spec into shit that no one uses right now....
    psssst, it's the beta, it's not final
