damn blizz, yesterday i just got my dala port xD

Lame. Typical Blizzard Butthead move though. They never set any actual dates because they themselves know that they are terrible at their jobs. Shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone really they love to back out on anything they basically promise (Where are those dances that were supposed to come out LAST EXPANSION as indicated by at least half of their trailers as an important feature?)

Also 4.0.3 without Cactaclysm? Also lame, so now we are supposed to experience half the content without the two new races or new race/class combos? Barely a point in that seeing as most people who wanted certain alts have already started/finished them. So is blizzard trying to make the experience lackluster? How exactly are they supposed to stop level 80 players from accessing 80+ zones as several do have a walking entrance?

Also wtf with the portal removal? For this to make sense there must not be an 85 level hub with portals and that means that Cataclysm Endgame will get a bit annoying at times. It better not be Tol Barad (sp?) because the bland alliance greatly outnumber horde on my server and we will rarely own it. Greater numbers = more likely the people who join are good/enthusiastic and extra health buffs (tenacity) do nothing when 20 people chain-stun you

I'm sure this has already been said, but WotLK was released on November 13th. BC was released January 16th. Needless to say, Blizzard doesn't care about holiday releases with the WoW expansions. Most of the people who play wow will be getting it within the first week the expansion is released.

Man with this news combined with the rest of what we have seen so far I'm seriously considering canceling my subscription come cataclysm.

Obviously the portals removal was to avoid people setting their hearthstones to Dala/Shatt, which would become travel centres, thus allowing fast teleporting to old continents from there. And since old continents are the main stage for cata events, lots of people would use those cities as a shortcut.
Items like the dalaran ring and even the argent tournament tabard and the Wormhole Generator: Northrend would make using that shortcut possible even more often.

Increasing the demand for mage portals is another reason.

Meh, real shame that the expansion may be postphoned, but I guess we could've seen it coming. Just look at all the stuff that's being implemented at the moment, it'd be a miracle if they finished so soon.
I like the fact that we may get the new terrains earlier though, I'm looking forward to exploring everything!

As for the epic items, I'm real glad that you can no longer get them from Heroics, and can only get them from raids. Maybe epic gear will actually feel epic again.

Don't believe everything you read or hear. This Thread is causing mass hysteria. Many players just want the expac to come out as soon as possible because they are sick to death of the current content. With the Heroics now live in beta its seems that we are looking at a whole month to test the raids and sort out bugs and balances. Im sure Blizzard will announce the release date at/or shortly after Blizzcon. We all know the release date timeframe is projected for the holiday season. The question is if they can release it before Chuck Norris gives them a swift roundhouse kick to the head.

Like I have said before in other posts, Beta is in no way reflective of what Blizzard have completed so far. Most of the recent beta changes are focused on tuning and those bugs that everyone reckons are around? They aren't around in Blizzard's current iteration they won't release to the public. Beta now is just there to tune classes, instances and gear. All of the bugs that were found have most likely already been fixed but they are not going to push them at all in Beta simply because people focus too much on that stuff (which is easily found by QA Devs) and not enough on tuning for raids, instances and other such things.

Also, anyone who reckons that "it was never delayed because there was never a release date", well you are the sheep that are responsible for stuff like this. If you actually think that Blizzard should have been allowed to go a whole year without releasing any content (Ruby Sanctum really doesn't count, I pugged that in 25 man the first week it came out) then you are just idiots. I pay my $14.99 a month to get constant updates, and this year I have been disappointed, so far I've paid $149.99 to farm a sub par instance and there weren't even any solid new quest lines (nothing like SSO, etc with 3.3 OR 3.3.3). So everyone that say it isn't "delayed", go die in a corner somewhere - I want to start seeing some value for money.

Blizzard have LOTS of our money and they could have easily bought on an extra 100 developers for a month to bring it out early. While I do appreciate the content that has been released in the past and that which is to be released in the future, I do think this last year they have been particularly cold to the player base.

Though Argroth's post was a lot of whine, I do agree with him on the point of making half the content available before it's actually released. I was looking forward to putting that DVD in, installing, rolling a worgen and see the new content with my new toon, not download a huge patch and wait for another month or what is it gonna be for the rest of the content.

It's kinda weird, and doesn't make sense, nor am I interested in seeing the new content without the rest of the new content (races, level 85 as ultimate goal, I'll find it lame to cap at 80). When the real Cata gets launched creating a brand new toon won't be as awesome as it could have been, because you already saw the new world for an entire month. I dunno.

We knew November 2nd was optimistic, you could have figured that out yourself if you'd have put a bit more thought into it. But early December is rather late. I anticipated late November, but I guess December really is more proftable. I never understood why they didn't do the same with WOTLK, though I was pleasantly surprised when it was available in November and not only in December. I don't mind, personally, I did plan room around November the 2nd to make sure, but I'll wait for December - without playing the patch.

You didn't play classic did you, cause there was years between major updates.

Man I dont want that . Cataclysm in half of december thats like nearly another 3 months of wotlk and mostly ICC . I really dont want the drake on my 3rd alt or something like that... Not to mention I am at uni so I have to study during Christmas because I have exams in January so that would mean NO MORE PLAY for me :<.

Actually, most top-tier developers don't give dates. And dances... I dunno, but I imagine they realized it wasn't really a high priority. I mean... really? Lol.

You're whining that you can't play with Cata stuff... without Cata? WTF? The 4.x pre-Cata stuff is just to let people see what's coming up and get accustomed to it, as well as have cool events.

What people seem to forget is blizzard never announced any release dates at all so all this anger is for nothing, keep in mind it was Boub who started speculating over dates not blizzard.

Boub has also been wrong on many occasions and unless his source is from blizzard itself, it's nothing more than speculation at best, dont get worked up people wait for blizzcon and see what happens then.

I seriously doubt that ilvl 346 blues will be purchasable with WotLK points, so there is probably a misunderstanding somewhere.

If they really are taking that route then it's a horrible design decision.

I would imagine that a certain amount of Valor points will be given for the daily random quest (or weekly version if they implement it)?

While it may be unpopular with some, this is PERFECT for me. I'll be back from Iraq by then, I get to enjoy the Cata launch on decent internet in the same general time zone as the rest of my guild. I like this news.
