It is still possible they 'could' announce a D3 release date but its highly unlikely since they just came out with the last class.

Can't they keep their disgusting E-Sport out of at least a single game? Is that too much?

Pretty underwhelming announcements.

Last class for D3 is ranged, which is predictable.
PvP arenas for D3, which is not really exciting, since it's already an instanced world.
Official Blizzard maps which are ripoffs of maps that other people already developed is super lame. How is that in any way creative?
A new "charity" paid pet is good for people who like to spend real money for pets. I don't get it, but clearly other people like them who so good for them I guess.

Hopefully the D3 gameplay presentation is about more than just the Demon Hunter.

So hold on... There will be "no more" "Big" announcements for the entire blizzcon, or is it, that was all the "Big" announcements for the Opening Ceremony??? Pretty lame if 1. That was their entire list of what they consider "Big" announcements and 2. If it was... WTF did they blow their load on the first hour of the show, No one is gives a shit about the rest of the crap. Release dates, classes, content, and new titles... That's what we'll listen for, everything else is just meh.

The Midnight PST thing is BS btw... I'm on the east coast and 3am to START on Cata is a kick in the nuts... First my Combat Rogue gets raped by the patch, now I'm not even gonna be able to play Cata till 3 hours before I have to get up for the next day... LAME!

What is this about the Cataclysm servers not going up till midnight Pacific time??

They definitely were up at midnight eastern ready to go for the past two expansions.

I hope it was a miscommunication and that the servers will be up by midnight eastern, but the digital download (which is what the conversation was really about) won't unlock until midnight pacific.

Diablo games have always had a PVP element to them, and it was always a bitch to deal with because of the dupers and hackers and asshats. Now, instead of being forced to deal with that bullshit, you can choose to PvP in the arena or not. Just because it has the title Arena doesn't mean its E-sport crap.

Considering Blizzard is a PST company, I've never understood why they give the edge to east coast players like that. Pacific players still had to wait until midnight unless they either got it from 7-11 (I would be surprised if 7-11 gets to carry Cataclysm after the crap they pulled with Wrath) or they got it off digital download. In any other case, East coast players had a 3 hour head start. As opposed to doing it this way, when everyone will be starting at the same time.

Demon Hunter new class for Diablo 3! This feature will be playable at Blizzcon.

I think its funny that people expect blizzard to announce a new game ever year then bitch about not having release dates, production times etc. I can't even imagine how brutal their backlog would get if they did.

Well glad im not paying for blizzcon this year, figured nothing cool would happen this year anyway.

Next year should be better.

The new Demon hunter in D3 is basically Sylvanas.

What else did you all expect exactly? Besides something about either the WoW movie or their new MMO? Also, about the midnight start of cata, there will be ONE timezone that's perfect for the people in that timezone. Everyone else must suck it up and go with what you got instead of being all selfish that YOUR timezone isn't the one they picked to go by...

Not too excited about these announcements, don't get me wrong DotA was a fun map and will be better in SCS2, but I was expecting a little bit more. This stuff sounds like things they could've easily announced outside of Blizzcon for about the same "woopdydoo" they're getting now.

Wanted to hear more about their other projects, maybe something new and original.

What about the europe version of the digital download? Can I buy it online and play at 22:00 GMT+1? I know Russians could play at 22:00 GMT+1 because they are GMT+3. Or is it like starcraft, where you have to wait until 10 in the morning?

yikes sounds like its going to be one boring blizzcon, don't get why they released the cataclysm trailer one week before it if there will be no major announcements

One can only imagine your level of excitement if they had announced Warcraft themed socks. I mean ZOMG WARCRAFT SOCKS!

If this is all they had to announce, then fine, that's all they had to announce. I'm not saying they should make stuff up or that they have an obligation to drop my jaw, but still these announcements are pretty weak.

Nah, I don't give a crap about the WoW movie, and I don't care too much about their unannounced MMO until there's some gameplay to look at, which given their glacial pace of development in general, we probably can't expect to see for another few years. Regardless of what any one expected, it's still a weak bunch of announcements, mostly because they're all easily predictable or just kind of lame (DOTA map is a big deal, really?)
