Cataclysm Raid Markers
One of the latest beta build upgraded the raid markers to improve them visually, below is a small preview.

Orgrimmar - Gamon Updated!
Gamon received a considerable upgrade in the latest beta build, he is now a level 85 elite and will kick your ass if you try to attack him! It's about time!

Cataclysm Models - Al'akir and Druid Worgen Flight Form
Apparently I forgot to post these models a while back and I couldn't miss an occasion to prove that complaining works!. Below is the in-game model of Al'akir and the flight form of worgen druids.

Actually, it's already substantially easier to hit a higher level player in PvP than it is to hit an NPC of the equivalent level; though perhaps not to the extent you had in mind. On the same token, PvP is only really intended to be a reasonable challenge between characters that are within a few levels of each other.

Gaining levels should confer power, and it's not at all untoward for a higher level character to have a significant advantage over a much lower level character. If one wants to beat a higher level player in PvP, then it's in their best interest to gear up, study up, and deliver a satisfying beat down once they catch up. (Source)

Paladin (Forums / Cataclysm Talent Calculator / Beta Skills/Talents)
Zealotry
Zealotry (in Cataclysm) does not consume Holy Power and is not on the GCD.

This seems to be a common misperception, probably because this is a change from how it works on live, so I wanted to clear it up and maybe nudge the theorycrafting towards some more accurate numbers. (Source)

Priest (Forums / Cataclysm Talent Calculator / Beta Skills/Talents)
Recent Discipline changes on Beta
The intent was that with the new PW:Barrier and a very strong Prayer of Healing, Disc would be good at group healing, and buffing Grace would make sure they can deliver the throughput on a single target, since they can't layer as many multiple spells on the same target the way a druid can.

We're still looking at priest base heals though (Heal, Flash Heal, Greater Heal) because we're concerned neither Disc nor Holy is using them enough. If we end up buffing those then both Disc and Holy will be even stronger on single targets. (Source)

Exactly my thought. I also like the head much more although it's basically the same concept. May be because it looks a lot cleaner.

Heathen! But seriously, he's an NPC in Org for the Rogue pickpocket quest. So that he functioned properly for the quest he had to be made neutral (since you can't pickpocket friendlies)...which led to him being killed on sight any chance anyone got. And then the "poor Gamon" memes flowed...he probably has died more than any other NPC...

Also for bonus points, you could kite him to the Caverns of Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvwyc...eature=related

Gamon getting a buff was inevitable, I mean look at him, he is always getting ganked haha
Also he hit you for what, 150k damage? That's an over buff lol

Seems to be pretty tough to get on Gamon now as the combat log indicates a character with about 46k HP who merely crit Gamon with 18(!) points of damage.
Must have a truckload of invisible armor.

Also according to Wowhead the lvl10 Rogue quest, which involves pick pocketing Gamon to obtain a key is still around in Cataclysm.
I'll say a prayer for each new rogue who tries to pick on a lvl 85 Elite in the tavern and get wtfpwned!

God, now I got a looney toon-esque comic strip stuck in my mind, where a pissed off Gamon turns around to see a pale faced rogue with big eyes and narrow pupils, realizing his inevitable fate eating a forceful punch shortly after.

and seriously, with all the aoe spells now, both boss effects and player effects, does anyone think adding more colors on top of more colors is actually a good thing?
Well, I don't think they had a problem with marking for places to stand pre-fight, you can do that now anyway with flares, Demonic Circles, Elune Stones et cetera. I think they had problems with the mod because it did it automatically, live, reacting to what was happening on the fly.

Err from the video it's show as a static marker, you know in place of the current smoke flares... There's nothing to show this is the same for on npc's

Gamon has been pushed around long enough. :T

...On that note, newly made Death Knights are going to need to run. Fast.

I could be mistaken here, but did Gamon just became the hardest hitting non-boss creature in the game ? O.O

P.S. As far as I know the Whaleshark is a ?? level.

Killer update post. Love the new fan art, dig the flight form model for Worgen, and I'm loving the new raid markers. Though I must ask...where is our moon and nipple markers?! I feel incomplete without the option of having them as well...

    alliance raids OG.
    Priest mindcontrols Gamon
    Gamon rapes everyone.
    gg.
or..otherwise round: horde priest mindcontrols gamon and raiding OG is impossible.
you could also call it "Battle for Gamon"

I'm a bit confused - As for the raid markers can you still put them on a specific target and it'll make them glow etc.
Because in the video it seemed he was placing them like how flares work...

Some clarification on that would be appreciated ^^

Actually, he doesn't. The char who hit him was certainly naked (which is why it had relatively low hp) and without weapons (hence the "low" damage), which accounts for the massive damage suffered (zero armor - litterally, since you no longer get any from AGI)

Gamon will surely kick your ass. Gotta remember to stay away from him when I attack Ogrimmar as alliance, he could wipe a raid quickly!

I three manned Gamon yesterday - the shaman filmed it (youtube.com/watch?v=-X2K43SyCK8). I'm the resto druid Zantiju, busy being shocked at how hard he hits ... something like 34k on mail. He three shot that shaman, four shot a feral druid.

Accidentally right-clicking him just got a lot more painful.

redtext: Now no one will have any excuse in saying "I didn't see which one was skull!" or "I didn't know moon was for sheep I couldn't see/didn't notice the marker!".

Worgen druid flight form? Kinda makes me jealous. The worgen druid forms overall display a higher quality of concept/execution.

Anyone know how these actually work with targets? Because doesn't matter how pretty they are, it would be a MASSIVE nerf (i.e. a removal of actual raid markers effectively), if you could not select a target and it automatically marks the target without having to do anything else.

If you can no longer do this because you are forced to place a highlighting circle, then raid icons just become glorified flares with no way of marking a moving target or adding marks in a macro or addon. You can bet your ass geeks will be lining up to do everything in their power to find a way to put back the original function.

Anyone on beta know how these raid icons actually work with targets, please? It's quite important since at the moment there is no way to duplicate this functionality via addons without breaking Blizzard's rules on addons, afaik.
