Jider Solos C'thun & Twin Emperors, Tanking Heirlooms, Maelstrom Crystals in 4.1

Heirloom Tanking Items introduced in Patch 4.1
New heirlooms have been added in the latest build of PTR 4.1. A tanking set is now available from vendors and should make leveling instances much more enjoyable for everyone. Apparently, these new items are available from your regular heirlooms vendors.





Maelstrom Crystals for Honor/Justice in Patch 4.1
You might hate or love this change depending how much time you spend speculating at the AH, but Maelstrom Crystal will be available from Honor and Justice points vendors in Patch 4.1. Someone pointed out that I never posted the price for those, there, have a screenshot.



Jider (Rogue) Solos C'thun & Twin Emperors
You might remember Jider from his past videos of Grobulus and Patchwerk solo kill a few months ago, he's now back in a new video featuring a very ... interesting solo kill of the Twin Emperors and C'thun as a rogue!


From Jider
Phase 1 of C'Thun is quite simple, damage the Eye of C'Thun until 0% which then triggers Phase 2. This phase is significantly more difficult. To start, C'thun has a shield reducing all damage taken by 99% and various adds will spawn throughout the fight. Shortly after Phase 2 begins you will be eaten by a tentacle which is unavoidable and once you are inside his stomach you must kill two Flesh Tentacles to weaken and bring down his shield. The reason this fight was thought to be impossible to solo is after seven seconds of being in the tentacle room you instantly die if you are attempting the encounter alone. Normally, to get out of his stomach you must reach the platform in the center between the two tentacles inside but seven seconds is not enough time to do this.

So, after some theory-crafting I set out to apply clever use of game mechanics and soon enough had a working strategy. I would now pull Ouro to C'Thun's room. Like most bosses when you attempt to evade them they will port you directly to them so I used this ability to my advantage in Phase 2. Once eaten Ouro would perform the necessary task of porting me out and to increase DPS time on the tentacles inside I changed races to Goblin for the Rocket Jump ability. I also changed my spec to subtlety for shadowstep and finally leveled up Engineering for Tazik Shocker (glove enchant). Combined, these three abilities gave me enough time to do damage to the Flesh tentacles and eventually weaken C'Thun and brought the encounter down to a reasonable two hours.

Twin Emperors Explained : Both Emperors share the same health, When one loses health so does the other. Using good timing i pulled Vek'nilash alone while Vek'lor remained out of combat. There for they would not use teleport. And since they are split up they can not heal. Vek'nilash is immune to magic and can only be damaged by physical damage which is why i chose him. Vek'lor is immune to physical damage and can only be damaged by magic. When Vek'nilash dies so does his brother Vek'lor even though he is out of combat.

    Put aside easy stuff most rogues do and do Heigan fight for example. Not sure how many rogues did him before my vid but it doesn't matter really because such crap shouldn't ever hit front page of such a website. What next? Videos of some freaky graphics glitches or player's family dinners??

    That said, there is an heirloom bow and an heirloom gun... no wand/idol, though I guess I can see why they would implement those two weapons because Hunters mainly use those, the idols/wands are mainly stat sticks.
    D'oh. Well you get what I mean, paladins lack a ranged attack like wand, or shoot or whatever, the slot is subsequent for each class with different uses, but what I am saying is there would need to be an heirloom for that slot for each class before they just implement a shield, guns and bows are a core part of hunters so understandable they get them, they act as primary weapons.

    bears cant tank worth a darn before level 81, and are ignored in the heirloom dept.

    One little problem here. Jider is a rogue, he has no pet that can tank for him.

    Seriously stop hating that a rogue dared to find a way to make it so the worst solo class in the game could actually solo a boss.

    It's honestly really sad that people are trying to give him credit for soloing "Twin Emps". He completely exploited the encounter and did not get a world first on the encounter. If he can pull them both and kill them, then he will get it. WITHOUT USING EXPLOITS. He cheated, and people are giving him credit? This is completely ridiculous.

    No i'm not upset that he solo'd it, I could care less, but I do care that he is claiming he killed them without an exploit and actually did the encounter with more than an auto attack mechanic. He's pathetic for trying to pass this off as an actual noteworthy kill.

    You dont need to give this guy credit. His video is there for people to be impressed, entertained or remain indifferent to. What perplexes me is when people actually gets mad over it. What important news did Jider push of the front page to get his video up there? Its just like when your local news station dont really have anything important to run so they put in a story about a cat in a tree. Its kinda entertaining for some and not at all for others but its pretty weird to get upset by it. You dont have to give him credit, i found it entertaining and clever so i do.

Of course its not gonna be natural, of course there is a 289127983 chemicals in there but its not really cheating becaus it was not a race. The point is not that he did it first but that he soloed a boss that is impossible to solo.

    While I agree that they should be punished, I don't think he should be banned. I do think it should be taken down from MMOC front page because it's not even close to being something front page worthy, at least the twin emps portion of it. The fact that people are giving him credit for soloing HALF a boss, that is only close to impossible IF you do the encounter with both bosses, not being a cheesy exploiter and only fighting one. It would be like him soloing only Phase 1 of C'thun. No one care's that he could do that, any class can do it and its a joke, but the difficulty comes in with phase 2.

    If people really don't see how ridiculous it is that he claims a world first of doing nothing, then I am baffled. He is basically saying he got the world first on soloing the 60 version of Patchwerk as an 85 rogue, and if he himself honestly believes that was impressive at all, I have lost all respect for him, and anytime I hear this video/kill being brought up, I will be sure to let everyone know he is just an exploiter, and should not be credited for it. Ever.

    Exploiting/abusing bugs is a bannable offense on WoW and anything bannable on WoW is against the rules here... *scratches head*
