Glyphs
  • Glyph of Ferocious Bite has been redesigned. It now causes Ferocious Bite to heal the caster for 1% of maximum health for each 10 energy used.

Holy
  • Denounce has been redesigned. It still reduces the mana cost of Exorcism. However, it no longer has a chance on Holy Shock of making Exorcism free and instant. Instead, it has a 50/100% chance to prevent the Exorcism target from causing critical effects for the next 6 seconds. This effect can be dispelled.
  • Holy Shock mana cost has been decreased to 7% of base mana, down from 8%.

Protection
  • Holy Shield now increases block chance by 5% while active, instead of increasing the amount of damage blocked by 10%.

Retribution
  • Selfless Healer can no longer be dispelled and cannot be stolen via Spellsteal; and, in addition to its current effects, it lowers the cooldown of Word of Glory by 5/10 seconds.

Priest (Forums / Talent Calculator / Skills/Talents)
  • Devouring Plague damage done has been decreased by 12%.
  • Mind Blast damage done has been increased by 12%.
  • Shadow Word: Death damage done has been increased by 12%.

  • The 2-piece resilience bonus from Cataclysm PvP sets no longer stacks. If a player wears 2 pieces each from 2 different Cataclysm sets, the player will only receive the 400 resilience rating bonus once. This change does not apply to PvP sets from prior expansions.

  • The shield block value bonus from Eternal Earthsiege Diamond has been increased to 3%, up from 1%.

The gloves still look a little weird and the light effects might be a little off (color-wise) but it should be ok now.

Balance
  • Earth and Moon now also affects Wild Mushroom: Detonate and lasts 15 sec, up from 12 sec.

Glyph
  • Glyph of Berserk now increases duration of Berserk by 10 sec, up from 5 sec.
  • Glyph of Ferocious Bite now causes Ferocious Bite to heal you for 1% of your maximum health for each 10 energy used.
  • Glyph of Innervate now rewards the caster with 10% of maximum mana over 10 sec when it's cast on a target other than the caster.

    The 4.2 changes remind me what the did (not blizz) with Allods. They basically killed the game (literally) with one patch. They really wonder why they lost 800k subs in 4 months? This is why!

    So... denounce will make it so that players can't crit other plays... so the best single target healers in the game not only have the best single target heals but their enemies will also be unable to crit the target they're healing or themselves...

    Glad to hear that burst is going to die against those guys.

    Not sure about the dreamcloth change. I think it was around this time in the other expansions when they start removing the long cooldown on stuff like that. Wonder if Truegold is next, along with the removal of soulbound chaos orbs. Those 3 things usually happen together I think. I hope so, I have a crapload of chaos orbs on my healer-engineer who can´t make anything worthwhile with them.

    stacking gems make gulidbanks everywhere rejoice.

    Only holy paladins don't have the best prehealing in the game, which is half of top-tier pvp. (Priests shield, druids hot, shamans earth shield, paladins...????) They eat a CC chain, it's basically over. Also this is a nerf in the fact that denounce no longer makes exorcism instant, so you'd have to be dumb enough to let the paladin stand there and cast it on you without interrupting him. If you interrupt his exorcism, you lock his holy tree and he can't heal. If he's standing there casting exorcism he's not exactly healing either, so with the fact that they have no prehealing, doing something like this would be bad for a holy paladin as it puts them behind in healing. So I'm not exactly sure how anyone can see this as a buff. In pve there's no real chance of a tank being crit...so this is some poor attempt at pvp balance.

    The "pretty" version of holy shield seems incorrect.

    They are saying holy shield will increase *chance* to block by 5%, whereas the old version inceased the *amount* blocked by 10%.

    no rogue changes... they could really fix our target swapping, and ramp up time to deal good dmg, and fix the scale as it seems they didnt really learn from wotlk when it comes to rogues, good to see blizz finally gave pets to the collectors, 150 rewards should be a perk, you can now have up to 5 pets with you,

    Denounce: Reduces the mana cost of Exorcism by 75%. In addition, you have a 100% 50% chance when casting Holy Shock to cause the Denounce effect on the targets of make your Exorcism. The Denounce effect prevents targets from causing critical effects for the next 6 sec. Exorcism spell instant and cost no mana.

    Seriously, nobody gives a damn if you want to BAAAAW over a change. I, for one, am loving the fact that with that extra 5%, I'll be unhittable WITHOUT the Windwalking proc. Did none of you notice the +200% buff to the Meta gem? This is amazing.

    Overall, it's something like a 3.5% nerf to overall damage resistance for Prot Paladins.

    It's a slight nerf, but the people crying over it don't understand the implications, because they're bad tanks and think only of the number, not of the mechanic.

    Yes, it's a nerf, no it's not crippling. What's REALLY important about it, just as you say with your unhittable remark, is that it increases the CONSISTENCY of your tanking abilities, not the POTENCY.

    Before, blocking was incredibly useful at reducing your damage, but you had a low chance of doing it, so more heals were likely to be wasted because your healers couldn't be sure if you were going to block or not. Now, fewer heals get wasted because it's more predictable. I would be willing to bet the 3.5% loss in overall potency still nets you better overall tanking efficiency because it spares healers more mana than the 3.5% overall damage reduction does.

    Also, I like the denounce change. I think the idea is that Aura Mastery + Denounce is the intended use. Now you have to choose how to use your stuff, it can be used to prevent the enemy from burning your team down, defensively, or it can be used to prevent the enemy team from healing themselves so well, so it's offensive.

    This is particularly dangerous against Shamans, who rely on a LOT of critical effects to support their net healing AND their ability to KEEP healing late into fights.

    Don't think just of crits, think of all the stuff that crits activate and support. This is a huge boon to Healing Paladin's versatility. The payoff is that you have to be smart enough to use it when you wont get interrupted, you can force it via Aura Mastery or you can just use it when their interrupts are on CD, or when you're not being targeted. It's a pretty short cast, I think you stand a pretty good chance of getting it off when their team is on the defensive. The sky isn't falling.
