Update - For the record, the international codes 009 and 041 only seems to appear on Blizzard's online games trademarks. This isn't a book or anything like that. It appears incredibly likely based on previous trademarks obtained by Blizzard that this is the next expansion.

Mists of Pandaria
Blizzard just trademarked a very interesting "Mists of Pandaria".

    Just doesn't fit the pattern:

WoW: The Burning Crusade - Big Bad = Burning Legion
WoW: Wrath of the Lich King - Big Bad = Arthas
WoW: Cataclysm - Big Bad = Deathwing
WoW: Mists of Pandaria - Big Bad = ???????

Also, I could be wrong, but I don't see an Old God being the big bad of an entire expansion. Historically, this has gone to a major lore character, with an Old God being a raid leading up the big bad. AQ40, Ulduar, etc. That naming just seems weird. It doesn't sound epic enough to be a x-pac. More like a content patch or another game entirely. I mean it would be like naming the WotLK expansion: "WoW: Snows of Northrend". It just doesn't fit.
I kinda wondered that myself. I do believe that Zul and the Zandalari will be focused here - but is Zul that strong enough of a villain to carry an expansion?

But, you also have to admit there's very few iconic villains left. All we have are Azshara, Kil'Jaeden and Sargeras. At some point Bizz is going to have to start creating new villains.

Maybe Zul is going to be set up as one of the new "Big Bads". N'zoth would be other logical choice.

I've always personally felt that Yogg'Saron was a greater threat to Azaroth than the Lich King. :P I mean, it's a friggin' mind-controlling, mind-manipulating, continent-sized Old God! Arthas is just an armor-clad Necromancer when you get right down to it...

following Cataclysm decline in levels range, I'm guessing this one will feature 3 new levels (88)

Every x-pack you face a new "fierce" villain, so to put It nicely, wow Is chewing up It's own lore. People successfully kill each X monster In each x-pack, what will be left ? Either this is Bait, or Panda will be a "Hero" race for both factions, Implausible to say It'll be ally only, but reading few lines on wow history, seems they prefer the light side.

I don't care if they don't add a single new thing to the game. I'd buy the expac just for the ninja pandas. Hoping it is what we seem to think it is!

We have one tiny bread crumb of info..No reason for anyone to get all bent out of shape..Everything is speculation and wishful thinking. To be Honest this is the first info on wow since Cata came out that got me exited..I am really enjoying all of this. When more info comes out that will be awesome too. Wow is one of the last things in life that really suprise me anymore..Sometimes good..Sometimes bad.

Cataclysm, we instantly knows it Deathwing!

    Seriously?

How can people not work out there will be a big bad showed on Blizzcon, and that they can't know the big bad by the name of the expansion?

Well, that's why I suggested that it would also be a secondary profession like Archaeology. Archaeology is not a mandatory profession. As in, you make fun brews with fun drunk effects. Likewise, you could work it similarly to fishing. You could make specific brews that are used as cooking reagents in special foods.

Likewise you could simply make other brew that "enhance" food. (ie. use the "Pandaren Stout" to increase the "satisfying flavor" of a cooking dish - which the in-game effect increases the duration of the food buff by 30 minutes. Ect)

I firmly believe Blizz is going to go away from adding any more major professions and will instead focus on secondary. They want all players to benefit from new professions added, and adding new ones simply adds too many major gameplay decisions for Chcaracters. Do you really want another stat-enhancement to balance out after you enchant your gear, gem up your gear, select inscriptions, collect potions, balance your stats and reforge your gear?

Not to mention the balance juggling is probably driving Blizz employees mad at this point.

Dude... I'm actually agreeing with you there! Did you read my post? :P

Yeah, they don't have to post the name of the big bad in the title. My post though was more or less asking "Who can top Arthas and Deathwing?" can Zul really follow up such an act like Deathwing? N'zoth might be more apt. So would Queen Azshara, but it would be odd that Pandara would be the place for Azshara's arrival.

I do agree they will have a big bad - the question is, what could the big bad of Pandara be? =/

I'm actually hoping they're going to make it a new villain altogether, like Zul or N'zoth. We're running out of iconic villains. :P

Every time someone thinks the villain will be a panda bear, or think it will be a joke, they will now kill a kitty, a puppy, and a panda baby. Let's see if the pandas can survive a week more now!

A panda expansion seems utterly inappropiate for World of Warcraft. It would work better for the "My Little Pony" MMO. I am sure though that my orc warrior will love to chop the heads of a bunch of stupid pandas. She will obvoiusly consider them an insult to evolution.

I'm thinking they will have to start creating new villains. Zul and N'zoth are a start. I'm also betting Medan will become the next Avatar of Sargeras.

But yes, the question is, what big bad that can surpass Deathwing's world destruction and Artha's empire can spring forth from Pandara?

Really only speculating, but this time I truly feel like Blizz is trying to get at us. Sure this could easily be the new expansion (and personally I'd very much like that) but there's just something about the title, the timing and the way the word about Cata got started. . .I don't know. Feels like Blizz didn't really appreciate MMO-Champ spilling the beans with Worgens and Goblins last time. I honestly don't think they make the same mistake twice.
