Twitter Q&A - LVL 71 to 80 XP decreased in Patch 4.3
Blizzard did a small Q&A session on Twitter and confirmed, among other things, that the XP required to level from level 71 to 80 would be reduced in Patch 4.3
Originally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment

A: We'll be decreasing the experience needed for levels 71-80 in patch 4.3. That's all I have for now.

Q: Will we see more "intro raids" like Naxx10 in Wrath?
A: Raid Finder is being designed to offer a similar experience.

Q: Any chance for a less steep learning curve in the game? I mean players hit a brick wall at 85, make previous content harder.
A: If anything, you'll see more variable endgame content in the future to allow players additional progression paths.

Q: Will any of the new Darkmoon Faire stuff be accessible at all times, or will it all be contained within that one week?
A: The updated 4.3 Darkmoon Faire is likely to be available the first week of every month for both factions.

Q: Will there be a "random raid" component to the Raid Finder letting us enter raids we've been previously saved to, like LFG & Trolls?
A: Raid locks will likely work like LFG under Raid Finder, though details of the system (coming soon) will better explain why.

Q: Any chance we'll possibly have a chance to get an old quest item or two restored for transmogrification once it comes out?
A: If there are really popular item looks, we'll consider adding new ways to obtain them.

Q: Will disc priests be getting their bubble graphic changed for DA "soon", is this still happening?
A: Last time we spoke with the class design team, they said the Divine Aegis effect will likely change in 4.3.

Q: Will the Raid Finder allow access to lower raids?
A: Probably not for 4.3, but it's something we'd like to do.

Q: Will the 4.3 Raid finder allow me to group with my cross-realm friends?
A: Hard to say at this stage in development.

Player feedback is an essential part of our development process, but this kind of thread helps illustrate the value and the pitfalls of anecdotal feedback.

What makes it useful? It's personal and emotional. It tells us about what it feels like to play World of Warcraft from an individual's perspective, where the big picture might seem pretty remote and unimportant.

The pitfall? It's personal and emotional, which is good, but very subjective. It's a tiny (though important) sample when compared against the whole of every battleground game happening everywhere. We have a duty to objectively look at the big picture. For example, our stats tell us that the ratios for various battlegrounds are pretty close to 50% win/loss for each faction, though that might not matter much to you when you're in the heat of the action.

So, when we're looking at what a quest feels like anecdotally, if it's too frustrating, then we can probably adjust that. When it comes to a system like the Battlegrounds, where the dynamic is almost exclusively player driven, but is working really well, it's not a good idea to mess with it because the big picture looks great.

Speaking personally, I've found that my mindset plays a huge role in how much fun I'm having. In the midst of a losing streak, I try to remember my winning streaks and landslide wins, or I adopt a philosophical approach and do what I can, where I can. If I get too frustrated, I do a different, more relaxing in-game activity for awhile or step away entirely. My bottom line is that how I think and feel about what I'm doing in-game can mean the difference between having a great time (even if I'm on a losing team), and table-flipping frustration.

As we've said elsewhere, battlegrounds require a ton of effort to create, and modifying them even slightly is extremely labor intensive. It will probably be more worthwhile to create new and better battlegrounds in the future, than go back to continually tweak and modify the old ones. (Official Forums)

New Character Models
Updating existing character models isn't something we've been "waffling on." It's something we'd love to do, but the fact is the art team has finite resources. Updating the current playable race models to be more in-line with worgen and goblins requires much more than just increasing the poly count. There are more bone structures on the frames of newer models which allow for more animation options. In order to update older models, the wire frames have to change, which means a large number of existing animations and customizations/hairstyles would have to change.

It's much more of a massive overhaul than many players are anticipating. That isn't to say we don't want to do it, but it's difficult to justify delaying the creation of new art, models, and animations indefinitely to revamp old ones. And we have to make sure to do it in a way that doesn't give some players a feeling of detachment from the look they've had for almost seven years. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Not that I'm against the lower xp requirement in Northrend, but why Northrend? they could have left Northrend alone and lower the xp req for Outland. Worst place to level ever, period.

I don't know about you, but I love Outland much more than Northrend, and it's a shame that I can fly past the outlands in about 2 days if I worked hard, where in northrend I'd have trouble managing to do 70-80 in 2 weeks, simply because it's uninteresting, and I've done everything to death there.

am I reading this right? Raid lockouts don't apply in raid finder?

This shit needs some explaining... Mainly, which raids will actually be in the LFR? If it comes out in 4.3 without current content, then there will be FL + 4.0 raids and since lockouts won't be an issue guilds will be able to clear FL few times per night to get their mages/ele shamans the legendary staves quite fast.

I'd wait for ptr testing to begin before making complaints. Thats where it really matters most as you will have 1st hand access to the content. Tho I wish the RRF would include previous teirs(, but this will get people out into the world w/ friends for mog gearing instead of Qing up in SW/ORG. Which was something they said they wanted to do. And any step to liven up the world is a good one.

Battlegrounds are unbalanced not because of Blizzard's design but because of faction demographics, plain and simple.

You really believe Blizz is that dumb o.O

What I expect is that it will be the same like 5-mans if there are 3 or more ppl from the same guild the raid lockout will still remain so when a new player enters he will get an option to have him be saved in that raid or leave the party. No way Blizz will let farming a legendary become a trivial thing

Why is blizz buffing the resto 4pc? resto is rocking every fight ever meter in ten heroic twenty five heroic and normal modes. Why not fix other things?

And the still look like arse, it doesn't matter how many polys you throw at a model it doesn't necessarily mean it will look better.

That what i'm wondering as well. I have used a guide to level before just because I really hate making alts and stuff, But from my observation 1-60 is extremely easy 60-70 is dreadfully slow and then 70-80 is pretty much like 1-60.... its just really fast, I mean it takes me twice as long to level throu outland then it does northrend if you go to the right zones. Even before patch 4.0 i thought it was easier to level throu northrend then it was to level throu outland.

This is just my guess, But this is what i figure they've done; they decided to pull statistics on all the toons lower then max level (trying to get more people into end game maybe?) and im gonna guess that most of those toons (at least for me) will be in the 70-80 lvl range. So they think there is something "wrong" with that leveling area and decided to nerf xp to get people to level their toons. I guess they never thought people have profession alts and that 75 is the lowest you can be to learn max level professions? I dunno, but w/e the reason its stupid it was JUST nerfed by 20% when 4.0 released... well not "just nerfed it" but still it hasn't even been a year yet...

Easy, if they buff one but not the other.. The class group they didnt buff... will complain. So if they buff the pally version, They have to buff the druid version because if you compare all the 4pc bonus those two classes are more alike. Priests will summon a flame at the targets location or something like that (not a priests just looking at the stuff on wowhead) and the shammy version just doesnt consume riptide. So if they buff one, between the pally and druid 4pc set bonus, they have to buff the other to avoid QQing.

Im so waiting on the Raid Finder it might make or break the time I spend in WoW from this expansion onwards. After 6 years of having guilds that just didn't quit make it thru the raids even tho we tried our best every time this function might help me clear T11 and 12 for once and get to experience the epicness of the end bosses Since I play tank and healer the queue time shouldnt be a problem either

Outland leveling is IMO easy enough. You get to 68 pretty fast these days and can skip half the continent before going to northend.

If they can redesign an entire planet, change literally every quest, spend the time creating two new races for this expansion, spend the time creating three new instances and a massively dynamic new raid boss (Deathwing), nevermind everything before this expansion, then I can't help but look at Tauren Females/Dwarf Males and all the other old races and wonder if this time could've been better spent, especially since where they've been applying their efforts seems to not have been paying off this expansion (and perhaps the last). It mightn't be easy but that doesn't make it any less overdue.

More lame excuses re: model revamping. It's such a tired argument. After so many years of bitching about things, they finally relent on some key issues (transmog, LFG, Raid Finder, Barber shop, adjustable character select) yet still remain stubborn and boorish about others. This being the most egregious one.

It's ridiculous that they think so little of the general public that they would flat out lie to them and suggest the issue of revamping models is bigger than it is. We can't have them because they need to make more bones? That may be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard from a blue post passed off as a legitimate answer. It's almost like the reading comprehension on these blue posters is completely shot from reading so much bitter QQ all the time.

It has nothing to do with updating model skeletons. It has to do with, yes, upping the poly count. It has to do with remapping the textures on that same model. You know, like they do ALL THE TIME. They have reused so many old models with reskins by now, it's pathetic!

Raptors, protodrakes, night elves, doomguards, hippogryphs, cats, wolves, orcs, and giants (think the roaming sea giants in Azshara/Tidewalker model that rubs its belly) are just SOME of the models that have been used countless times. Not a few times. COUNTless times. Manifold. Many. Oodles.I don't really need to provide examples as I am sure people reading this thread are aware of the many mounts that share the raptor and hippogryph models, etc. Come on now. Reskin these old models! There's no excuse anymore. With so much pressure to remain contemporary and competitive, it's amazing they are so resistant to this. It's bratty, to put it mildly.
