Blackfang Battleweave

A "bat-themed" armor set for rogues seems like a no-brainer, but we were careful to skirt the more obvious inspirations. World of Warcraft often makes playful references to pop culture, but it’s important -- particularly with player gear -- that what we create has integrity within our universe. Rogues look good in close-fitting masks, collars, and cowls rather than elaborate armored helms. It also helps reinforce the rogue's sneaky silhouette if the shoulder pads have a streamlined shape... even if that shape has sharp, bladed details.

I don't even really play my rogue, but those shoulders...! Pretty sweet. And... BLOODFANG! The memories are... overwhelming. /sheds a tear

As with all of the new gear, people have to remember that with mogging you don't have to worry whether you like it or not (only stats matter now!). Just pick your fav, grab a couple of friends if needed, and go farm it. Bam, you have current gear that looks like your favourite from the past.

Ulduar, 1, 2 and 3 tier sets are the best imo. Nothing will be able to beat those out. Ever.

IF we get a recolor that isn't scab-red, and IF the female version of the chest piece is sexy, and IF they realize that bats don't vomit green bile, we MIGHT have something interesting here. Otherwise, mogging to Tier 4 as planned. Also, WHY THE HELL IS HE WEARING LITTLE BLACK SHORTS?!

Excellent set. I personally don't play a rogue, but in my honest opinion this set is on par with Warrior T13

Rogue Tier 13 looks horrendous, I'm surprised people are fawning all over it. It looks like it belongs in Northrend as a green item set from a Howling Fjord quest chain. Dismal effort.

Reminds me a little of Sunwell gear. Good looking but nothing spectacular.

Funny. Everyone seems to think exactly the same about Rogue-t12. My first thoughts also have been someone saying "WHO ARE YOU?!" and someone answering "... I'm Batman >:|"

I think it looks great. Best Rogue armor since T5, though I wish they'd stop putting bright glowing crap all over armor that is supposed to be warn by a stealthy assassin.

All gear should be much simpler, but a big part of the problem is the terrible graphics engine. With the exception of helms/shoulders, all armor fakes 3D effects, with dark spots here and there to try and fake shadows, fugly stretching from one race/gender to another, and so on. They try to make up for it by adding all sorts of wacky lines and distorted chains and color designs and shiny things all over the armor, but that really just makes it look worse. If the tier designers were able to add details to armor that were separate parts/layers/etc., and not just drawn-on, they'd have a lot more freedom to add fewer-but-more-interesting details instead of vomiting color all over leggings/chests.

The knives on the above image, for example, would be impossible in WoW - they've have to be drawn on.

Those "fake 3d effects" are the reason that wow runs 100 times better than any other MMO. Every other one i've ever played looks like a dirty mess and has terrible FPS and animation, where WoW has always felt fluid and well done... weapons seem to have weight when you swing them, characters are animated well, because the character animations are just a relatively low-poly 3d model with a graphic overlaid. The engine doesn't have to draw all those ridges and separately created daggers 60 (or more) times per second, because they are just an image stretched over a model, so the game plays well. I guess if you really wanted to play yet another MMO that plays like a 6 year old playing with Jumbo Blox, they could take your advice.

What is up with the color selection though...

The tier sets just get uglier and uglier. I think Blizz has just given up since transmorgification is being implemented.
