To state it plainly, how long your WoW account has been active and when you signed up for the Annual Pass are not the ONLY factors, and having a long-standing account and early AP signup does not guarantee placement in a wave.

People seem to think they have every account listed out by 1) day signed up for AP and 2) duration of account, and they are just inviting down the list.

I haz beta! Woohoo... EU, active since a week after launch, 2 breaks of 1-2 months, subscribed to AP 1 or 2 weeks after it went live (because my account was ineligible, which they fixed).

That's all well and good, until last night. Bashiok explicitly replied to this question with the following:

"Annual Pass is a guaranteed entry, there is no consideration made beyond cumulative subscription time and when the Annual Pass was purchased."

And people like this are upset because it's never fun getting lied to. Imagine your boss announces to everyone that the person with the most seniority in the office is going to get a promotion next week, and when next week rolls around, he gives it to some guy who's only been working there a year.

Show me proof the people didn't get in that others did that were involved the game later and also have the list amount of subscription time. You can't prove this cause you are taking the word of people on the forums.

Heck here gotta believe me. I started 4 months ago and just signed up for the AP and I got a Beta invite.. Now everyone should freak out cause people hear and read what they want to read. Even if they know how unreal and not true that is.

We are all going to get in I've played since Vanilla, and signed up for the AP right away but I'm not going to cry over this. We will get in when we get in simple as that.

And for the blizzard lying to us yada yada... This is something new to everyone? We got a free copy of Diablo, we are going to get into Beta sooner or later, and you were going to play for a year anyways so who cares.

But why would you do that? The promotion was to reward players planning on playing for 12 consecutive billing cycles. If you signed up for the beta or the mount, well, that's just silly. If you signed up for the AP for D3, then you're still getting D3. That's value that you can think of as "paying back" the months that you didn't plan on paying wow. But signing onto a 12 month contract just for access to a beta, that's kinda silly.

By the way, just for info purposes for the people tracking this kind of stuff, My current wow account has been active since 1/2011, I've taken many breaks in that time, and I signed up for the AP a few weeks ago. No beta, of course. I honestly don't expect to be invited until the last few waves start.

All I have to say to people that think they should have an invite is check your Battle.Net.

I have been playing since Dec. 2004 nonstop and signed up for the AP the day it opened up. I did NOT receive an e-mail but the beta is in my account and I'm installing now.

anyone from 2006 who's in? had my account since july-ish, no invite yet

I have been playing since March of 2005 and no beta for me. But its possible because I stopped playing in 07 for a few months that could be held against me and I might not get one for a while to come.

yea i would like to know the same, i got the annual pass the day it came out as well and my account was activated pretty much the same time, if we dont get in this one, we better get in the next one, im going to be really pissed off if we get into the beta and then one week later it gets shut down and all those other people had weeks or months to play in it and we just get a few days, thats not what i signed up for

Why is it then Oxhorn is in the Beta and he didnt sign up for the Annual Pass as far as im aware?

I laugh at these people that are like WHY NO BETA and they started playing in 2006-2011... Think for 2 seconds now... People that have been getting invited are from 04? You are only 2 years off so yeah I agree WHY NO BETA. Why is cheating me!!! They stole my money!! I want in now just like we need LFR so people that don't know how to raid can feel special.

This is BS. I've ranked top 20 for locks on every fight in cata and I'm still not qualified to get beta in the first wave? So I guess as long as you have been playing since release and are the derpiest player in the world you're good to go? Half the people in the beta don't even know how to properly test the new changes except the players from world ranked guilds like BL. Every stream I watch the idiots are like ooooo what does this new spell Malefic Grasp do when it's been known what it does for months. So not only are there bad players and streamers like Towellie who say the new dungeons are overtuned because you can't roflstomp them anymore but there's idiots who haven't even read up on any of the new changes for their class beforehand. Blizzard is ridiculous, they knew they would be screwing people over with this and now they just offer an "I'm sure you'll get in soon, be patient with us" response when there are people who legitimately know what and how to test. I'm probably in a small group of players who actually care enough to read all the new talents and changes and write down a list of things to test, but to no avail, cause people who go "OOOOOOOOO the spell looks prettier" are cluttering up the servers and doing nothing useful for Blizzard or the people who want to see the new changes in action.

I have over 90 "cumulative" months paid. SIGH.

As Blizzard has shown and stated in the past, beta invites are mostly done to get a wide variety of players. After all these years as well Blizzard hasnt shown much care to their long time loyal customer base, their concern is appealing to more players, loyal or not.

Opened account march 2007. Several lapses. Cancelled annual pass. Used scroll of res from a guildy havent updated my beta profile for months(still had old rig listed) got beta invite while on 7 day free pass.

Check your e-mails / battle.net now. Battle.net just went down ingame, I logged onto my account on the site, and I have the MoP game on my list of accounts now.
