I find many of the negative comments here amusing: if you think this is kiddie stuff, perhaps you dont care for the WoW story at all. In fact, if you fail to see how the theme of this xpac will start off and where it will go, Blizzard all but TELLS you in the video. Total war between the alliance and horde, then toward the end, the pandaren will serve to unify them so they can stand against a greater threat (burning legion anyone?). I personally liked the video as it pointed out that the alliance and horde need to question their motives for fighting, as well as demonstrated the ability of the warring factions to ally against a perceived greater threat. Not to mention that pandas that know kung fu kick ass.
Ive seen the trailer about 12 times now and each time I see it I get more pumped for Mists. I still stick to my guns that wrath's was better imo but this one has really grown on me. Gotta love the fully rendered graphics. Pandas look freakin awesome!
Too bad that trailers don't reflect in game footage then.
i stand by the fact that it is the worst trailer, along with cata it failed to motivate me in any way to do any content.
Vanilla, Wrath, TBC even cata, all had much better trailers, they were more "serious", this is cartoony, its jokey and its about as deep as a fortune cookie. technically its great, but as for teh content.....well it just kind of highlights where wow is headed and its not somewhere I think it should go.
Can we finally move towards permanent peace with this expansion? Implement the Burning Legion as a faction to keep PvP going, but for the love of Elune, end the alliance/horde conflict. That shouldn't be the basis of the game with cosmic forces threatening the planet.
Well.... the plot of that cinematic is hilarious and doesnt represent wow at all. What a third person would percieve by watching this would be that the good warrior humans fight the beastly warrior orcs ( quite cute how a human is depicted as badass and the orc as a monster and even more cute how a human stands a chance 1vs1) and the good panda monk humiliates both of them.
The message is clear monks are OP and they equal to 2 warriors.
On a same serious note, the chorographics of the fight are something like youtube amateur kungfu with chucky chun moves. The part where the monk disarms the orc is so badly designed.
There are a lot more better machinima films out there.

what's exactly what I had in mind when I saw it. 2 guys fighting, and suddendly and 3 rd one comes, and beat both of them?..
I don't like it at all. If at least it was a Boss, ok, but a normal monk..just sends the wring idea.
On top of that, the music is almost none existent. When the 2 warriors fight, there is no music..
It lacks epic music. Wrath one still give me the chills with the "Arthurs my son" theme.
I wounder how many kids will QQ that their Monk can't solo 2 warriors " just like in the video" in a couple weeks.
Kung Fu Panda is a great movie. Why would I deny that?
Oh I'm sure it was a fantastic film. I just didn't think it was suitable to be made into a world of warcraft expansion. Others apparently beg to differ.
I really was unimpressed by the trailer. It seemed like it was aiming to be kind of funny....and I didn't find it that way at all. I hope the expansion turns out better...
I really tried to find a deeper message in it. Like the sly smile the Pandaran gives when he sees the Human give the spear to the Ork. i.e. "Working together, putting their differences aside to defeat a common foe, stronger with one another"... but... meh
I realize this expansion is supposed to be a change from the Oh LAWD, yet another "I'm going to destroy Azeroth" villain - but.. it didn't seem to give any great vision for what this is all about. In fact, it just made it seem like we're going to have to do stuff the Pandaran's way or we can pack our bags.

It is a video game, man, game for fun. If you are looking for something "serious", stop playing a game and go back to your work.
Yes. This video was a A LOT BETTER then the Cataclysm one in my opinion. Loved the fighting between the Human and Orc, then the Panda Monk jumping in. And the look on the Orc and Humans face, when the Human was handing the spear to the Orc = Priceless. LoL. I am a little bit excited for the new expansion.

They both just survived being blown up, drowned and trekking though an unknown land. i would stay they cant be at more than 30-40%.
WoW i think that was there best trailer blizzard has done yet. They did not disspoint in getting players excited for the expansion and i love the fact its Orcs and Humans with a unknown element this time around No big Super boss to focus on nothing. Good job blizzard!
Exactly my thoughts mate. IM so EXCITED about this expansions.

You don't seem to know who Chen Stormstout is, do you?
You don't seem to know who Chen Stormstout is, do you?
If this game is intended to also bring back the wow populace that left and bring in more people I would not expect any of them to know who Chen Stormstout is, and it should not be a prerequisite for understanding a cinematic that is supposed to be a trailer/teaser for an upcoming game to gain attention and increase sales.
This trailer may be good to those who have been following MOP the whole time, but for a trailer to draw in the populace, from my own experience, it did not draw me in or give me the feeling to want to play the game, I enjoyed watching the cinematic, but it did not make me wish to return to play wow again and the true meaning in the video is not easy to decipher and is easily misinterpreted to other meanings.
honestly, if the cinematic turned off people because there was some funny moments, then i feel it did something even greater than ushering in the new expact. it chipped away at the cancer that fucks up this game. the pisspoor community of constant bitchers.
Have to say, this was.... fucking awesome! Best intro since the original WoW intro. I wish I could be this impressed by the game but I dont think I will be.
Blizzard should make a movie with this much effort put into it.
