This trailer may be good to those who have been following MOP the whole time, but for a trailer to draw in the populace, from my own experience, it did not draw me in or give me the feeling to want to play the game, I enjoyed watching the cinematic, but it did not make me wish to return to play wow again and the true meaning in the video is not easy to decipher and is easily misinterpreted to other meanings.
The same argument can be made for the WotLK trailer, only more so, since NONE of it made sense without prior knowledge of Arthas' story. It's not a pre-requisite to know who Chen is, but the two warriors are not named either. Why is it odd for someone fighting to protect his home on his home turf can beat two wounded and tired soldiers completely out of their element?

This comment fits for people thinking the Monk is overpowered just by that video, are you really examining all the elements of the video or just formulating your own opinion at the beginning and only taking bits of the rest ignoring the whole aspect of the movie.

If you played Wow you'd pick up on the near endless battle of Alliance vs Horde, they crash continue the hunt but get stopped by a new person who sees a possibility and doesn't do harm but causes them to pause; that one pause was enough for them to forget each other and momentarily work together. It's about peace, it's about what some of the Pandarians, least the ones you are playing, what their ideals are. It opens up to how the Pandarians would pick their starting faction since there are one person representing (could be more that survived) each faction. This sets up to where each pandarian to talk to either of them, gather information and make a decision on who they want to support.

The video is humorous since that's part of this theme I'm gathering - 1: being Pandas in the game now 2: Monks (brewmaster - drunken monk style fighting like Jackie Chan's movie among others like the Shaolin Drunken Monk) so they reflected that in the movie also making pokes at what we know of Kung Fu Panda. It's animated well, myself I see nothing wrong with it especially if you watch it with an open mind.

You'll gather your own opinions - based on your past experience, what you think of them adding Pandas, how many wanted to always play Monk ever since seeing them in the game from the Scarlet Faction.

If you have any doubts on playing, then don't you'll likely regret it; but if you're excited about what you've seen then give it a go. I'm still pondering, I have games already to play, but I am one of those that have wanted to play a Monk.

I've always liked the videos that WoW have done and would love to see a movie made.

Definitely wouldn't rate those two as the best cinematics.

Wow... this really is worst cinematic WoW ever had.
It just shows main aim of MoP - to make it more appealing for elementary school kids, apparently new primary target customers.

I wouldn't say it's odd if you interpret it like this.
But, for someone like me,that hasn't played for a while, didn't follow any of the MoP info, when I first saw it, that wasn't my state of mind.

The video starts with something already present in WoW, with which players can relate to. The second part of the video introduce a new character e.i elements of the new expansion. The end of the video, shows this new element defeating the 2 others.
Without entering in the why they fight, or if they were tired or not, what's happening in the video is pretty straight forward. The monk wins the battle, and humiliate the two others by fighting 1vs2.
Even if he had more reason to win than the other 2, the first message of this video is clear. New expansion beats the old WoW.
So for someone that liked the game before MoP, it says " what you like is shit compare to monks and MoP" .

The feeling of the video really depends on the state of mind before watching it, and what your expectations. For me, that was it. for others, they liked it better, or went straight in the deep meaning of things, already knowing some of the facts. But that's not the first impression this video gives to someone that didn't follow anything about this expansion IMO.

Fantastic to look at, but I did not feel there was something to look forward to. Two parties fight, a third interferes to protect him and his own. Where do we come into the picture? Is to find something worth fighting for the point? If so it's really vague.

    Beautiful cinematic. Less impressive plot.

lol @ the people claiming the mists cinematic is cheesy and praising cataclysm

Deathwing: "Azeroth wull br34k, beneath da shadow of mah wingzz" *stormwind watch tower smash* wow yeah, that was not cheesy at all!

Mists cinematic was easily one of the best, though still topped by wotlk.

Blizzard does cinematics without any of the major races - people complain.

Blizzard does a new cinematic with three of the major races featured front and center - people complain.

I guess stupid is the new normal.

Not my problem if you seem to have a problem letting your inner child out, and well if you can't let it out every so often then well..

They are probably scared that they liked the movie but don't want anyone finding out for fear of being laughed at. A lot who are negative about the trailer in that way must be very insecure about themselves.
So people that dont like pandas, carebears or ponies are in fact afraid of someone seeing them having fun with it? Or maybe as I said it doesnt have any appeal for an adult? Crazy world we live nowadays that people that cant grown old and get past their child hobbies think they are the mature ones.

I for one had an amazing childhood so i dont need to want to be a kid again. Sorry you couldnt get past that.

Every other expansion has had a villian that was the main theme. Bc was Illidan, WOTLK was Arthas, Cataclysm was Deathwing, but this has nothing on that regard.. Believe it's gonna take some, getting used to.

it's an opening cinematic, It simply explains how the horde and alliance got on to pandaria. since this is new lore i think having a cinematic that explains the very beginning is a good idea.

My guess is the human and the orc are based off of the front cover of Warcraft 2 as seen here

    Seem very similar 2 me.
