  • A bug has been fixed that caused turn inputs to sometimes be skipped, causing only one pet to take action that turn
  • Conceding in a random PVP Pet Battle should now count as a loss
  • State-dependent abilities should no longer have their effects reversed (example: Maul should correctly require that the target be Bleeding)

Full balance change-list that was applied during the recent hotfixes:
  • Build Turret: Cooldown increased by 1 round
  • Tidal Wave, Magma Wave: Damage increased 40%
  • Scorched Earth: Initial damage increased 66%
  • Call Blizzard: Damage increased 66%

  • Call Lightning: Damage increased 150%
  • Cleansing Rain: Healing increased 60%
  • Dive/Devastate/Proto-Stike/Lift-Off/Heroic Leap/Meteor Strike/Launch: Damage increased 17%
  • Howl: Duration increased to 2 rounds, cooldown increased to 3 rounds
  • Horn Attack: Damage increased 47%
  • Crouch/Staggered Steps: Cooldown reduced by 1 rounds
  • Extra Plating: Duration and cooldown increased by 1 round
  • Perk Up: Healing increased 40%

In addition, we’re investigating a possible issue with traps not upgrading and will get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports. We appreciate your enthusiasm for this new feature, as well as the time you’ve taken to discuss the Pet Battle system!

You're missing the point. People don't want the JP gear to raid in. People want the JP gear to run heroics in, so that they there can get their gear for raiding. Farming reputation has nothing to do with "attitude" or "spirit". It's just boring. Especially when you do it on alt number five. As has been pointed out, the people who were 15-20 when WoW came out are now closing in on 25-30, and have families and lives outside the game. Meaning limited time to play. Meaning we'd rather spend that time doing the fun stuff - dungeons and raids - and not endlessly grinding reputation from daily quests just to be allowed to start doing the fun stuff.

There was no Pandaria in vanilla. There were no raids beyond Naxxramas. There were no levels beyond 60. There were no guild levels, no dual specs, no monks or death knights, no goblins or blood elves, no guild banks, no alchemy specializations, no flying mounts, no glyphs, and no arenas. In early vanilla there were no PvP rewards, no battlegrounds, and no raids smaller than 40 people. Why add them now?

Build Turret: Cooldown increased by 1 round --- i hate that nerf--had to lvl a new pet because of it too beat some other trainer.

Good thing they did that, by the time i would have been finished grinding rep, i would be raiding

Removing the rep requirement makes sense. Currently it's less time consuming to run heroics and get HIGHER level gear than spending loads of time grinding faction rep to get entry-level gear.

Amen to that, but it seems that it wasn't so. Leven Dawnsomething still refuses to appear so you can turn in quests to him, for at least 2 quests atm. It feels silly.

And /gasp at a certain blood elf dk.

That's not why they changed this however. They changed it because with the reputation gate jp and jp gear is useless, without the gate people can buy a few pieces instead of making pvp gear to propel themselves into heroics.
The old way was just broken had nothing to do with the actual rep grind.
Having to grind rep to revered for epics is fine.
    ^^ Agreed

I don't see where people actually whined about reputation requirements on JP gear, all I see people whining about was the need for Golden Lotus rep before you could raise your rep with the other factions which was a retarded idea but Blizzard scraps the whole thing and be done with it

I don't know what people's problem with acquiring ilevel 440 is. Every one that *needs* to do heroics right after hitting max level knows that you should better do everything in the last zone for ilevel and queue instances where you get appropriate loot (mogu'shan palace) so that you Ding, do the arena scenario and got enough ilevel to enter heroics. If you *need* to instantly run heroics after hitting max but you don't know how to get there during leveling then it's your fault.

On the same hand, I don't think that the reputation situation was appropriate and i think blizzard did right fixing it.

After reading this article, I started hoping for a timetravelling machine.
No one ever bought JP gear because it's i450. By the time you'd reach honored you'd most likely have something better.
Personally I had 4000 JP, unable to spend any of it.

Difference between now and "back in the days", is that bad design is fixed, even if it means more accessibility to entry level gear (oh no..)

Kudos to Blizz for that JP change. I was talking to my guild and none of us could figure out why you need to spend several days hitting Revered with Golden Lotus to buy weaker gear from the other two factions, when that 450 gear is perfect for filling out a final slot or two to hit the 440 requirement to be able to run heroics in the first place. It's not about making things easier, it's about removing an artificial barrier than made no sense. The 450 gear serves two purposes:

    1) A stepping stone to get the requirement to run heroics, since you cannot easily get it otherwise, especially if you did both V4W and Krasarang Wilds, as you will be well into 89 when you go to Dread Wastes and hit 90 before you get far enough to unlock the final few quests that reward 450 blues.

    2) For those people that don't enjoy doing dungeons for whatever reason to get not-quite-as-good gear to help them out in their dailies and Scenarios.

    I applaud this change wholeheartedly.

Good change with the jp. I was sitting jp capped unable to buy anything (or well, one chest that was worse than the one I had), and I hit 90 fairly early and have been doing my dailies every day. Granted, now I'm basically full 463 or higher so it's a bit "too late", but it's good for my slower guildies/alts. Pretty nice for my offspecc though, to fill out the pieces I haven't got already.

Can someone clarify something for me please.

Have the removed the need for Golden Lotus rep to access the dailies for the other 2 factions or have they only allowed you access to their justice items without the need for Golden Lotus rep?

    Thanks in advance.

Just to buy Justice gear. To do the dailies still requires Golden Lotus reputation.

    This is an excellent change.

I had no problem getting to 440 ilvl as soon as I dinged 90. Didn't even have to spend gold. Quest rewards and Direbrew trinket. I've been farming heroics and having awful luck with drops.

I'm going to be raiding tonight, with or without a geared group.

Golden Lotus will take, what, 2 weeks to hit Revered?

By then people already will have outgrown 450 JP gear. It's just stupid.
  1. fangless's Avatar
I don't care about the retro-JP fix, besides the fact that I had to scrap gear together to do heroics that Wednesday :P

But it honestly isn't a big deal, sure you can't use THOSE jp rewards, but down the line, you'll have your rep required and you'll get on the train for the next trickle down tier of rewards.

Oh well, epics will be epic for a few weeks at least, until they get thrown on the JP vendors for dirt.
