Separate 10 and 25 Man Raid Lockout and Reward Changes in Korea
Similar to the test of shorter raid lockouts for older content, Korea is testing separate raid lockouts for 10 and 25 man, as well as higher item level rewards in 25 man raids. The translation below was provided by PrairieChicken .

Therefore, from the upcoming patch we decided to change the raid instance lockout rules for all KR servers. Raids, as usual, will be reset every 7 days following maintainance checks. However, after 5.1 patch 10 man and 25 man raids will have seperate lockouts.

From now on, players could play raid instances, such as Mogu-Shan Vaults, in both 10 man and 25 man difficulty. Normal and Heroic difficulty raid of same instance will share same lockout as usual. Furthermore, the loots of 25 man raids has been buffed, and will offer higher iLV compared to same 10 man instance. For example, Terrace of the Endless Spring in 25 man difficulty will drop loots with iLV of 504, wile 10 man will drop 496.

We wish that players will further enjoy the contents and gain satisfactory rewards, and decided to offer the system that suits most well with the KR players.

I prefer 10m raids but with these changes i will feel forced to do 25m raids to stay competitive in my 10m raids!

I firmly believe people should do whatever they want, but MMO's exist with incentives to expend effort through spurts of time that completely lack enjoyment, because the type of personality that creates a raider is for the payoff. You want to progress as a team and individually, so that's why you endure short-term frustration. Guild Masters are a different breed of masochists, and having been one since 2006, I can say for sure... 25m is infinitely harder to organize no matter how amiable your roster is. To argue that is blind ignorance, so I want to know your resume because you're either the perfect troll, or you're preaching from ignorance.
Stated beautifully. I have been a guild/raid leader for probably 4 years or so now, with the beginning of Cata being so in a ten man. The ONLY thing that was "hard" to deal with during our ten man days, was if someone couldn't make a specific day, there was a high percent chance we would not be able to raid. Other than that, maintaining the group, doing loot, learning the bosses were all considerably easier than that of a 25 man.

I for one more than pray this change comes, it will give people the chance to raid with their friends out of guild or what have you in ten man, and still be able to progress as a guild in 25, as it should be.

Please, people like you ruined 40man raids when they cried for 25's. Then when you felt like 25 was unfair cause it was slightly better than ten, you cried again and now 10 is the norm because there is not incentive to do 25 man raids. I say they bring back seperate 10/25 timers and the seperate item level gear. if all you want to do is 10man raids then fine, that what you do and enjoy the gear you get for it and leave the people who can and want to do 25's alone.

    excellent?

    I mean, it's really arbitrary.

If all the raids are tuned for 10m ilvl, they won't be any harder/easier with said gear. Same with 25, they will be all relative.

Need to bring this back to US/EU already come on blizzard you can do it!!!

Wow, Korean players actually get stuff to do for the week!

Perhaps EU/US can follow suit; a couple of hours raiding and then idling in Orgrimmar is a far cry from the glory days of Pre-ICC WOTLK>

If they don't do something 25 men will die out, it's not enough reward for the effort, simple as that. But the really awesome part are the separated lockouts, I used to love doing 10 men runs with my friends in Wotlk, after I was done with the 25 men main raid 8). Oh an there's also the fun factor, 10 men feels horribly boring and not epic at all compared to 25 men.
Stone gaurd is harder on 10 heroic. Garaj the Spirit Binder is also harder in 10 man. So is spirit kings and Will of emperor. TBH I can't think of a boss that is easier in 10 man heroic.

I would love to see seperate Lockouts in 10 and 25 man for EU as well. Loot can stay the same in 10 and 25 man (in my opinion), but i really miss going 25 man raids. There are only two guild left on my server that are raiding 25 man (both on alliance side) People might still say "it's not worth the effort" if loot would stay the same, but i believe you would see a few more casual 25 man raids and thats basically all i want

Why the hell would anyone but the absolute top want 2lockouts per week? Also i doubt the majority of people would want this, atleast not on us/eu servers.

This...I do not want to go back to the days of:

"LFG 10m (current raid); MUST be in ilvl 25m gear."

Was the stupidest thing ever in this game.

It was a bad idea in WotLk and it's a bad idea now.

I really hate seeing this excuse. It's not MY fault your computer is from 2003.
I like that you automatically assume it's because of their computer. Recruiting on my server is like running through a cactus farm buck naked. I'm in a 10 man guild because its tight-knit and because there is realistically no option for a 25 man because we only have 20 raiders that we have to put into two groups because they cannot all raid on the same days. I'm not here to argue what's harder because they're both tough in their own right. I don't think 25 man should have better loot just because they're lucky enough to have 30+ people who can raid on a given day rather than a guild that can scrape together 11 or 12 people a few nights a week for some good old fashion hardcore raiding.

    Edit:

If it must come to 25 man getting better loot, then I very much agree with this.

If they bring this to EU & US, sub count will drop insanely. Forcing ppl to play 25man again would be worst decision they have ever made.

I like this idea for all servers. But, I really don't want separate lockouts for 10 and 25, I like the higher iLvl, but having to do 10s and 25s at the start of a tier to gear up, ends up being too much content, and it ends up messing with every loot system that is in play today. Its unfair to get 10man gear and still get to roll for the 25man gear that week, its also bad for those who don't want to roll for the 10man gear, cause they rather have the 25man.
Than again, I don't want people in my raid (25man) because of the higher gear level. They tend to QQ alot.
They should do something for 25 mans.

And i feel to be forced to do 10 since there are almost no 25guilds there. I cant raid on regulard days with my guild and do 10man with friends cuz of that aswell. No one is forcing you to play 25 but 25players are forced to do 10. Do you think thats fair?
