Separate 10 and 25 Man Raid Lockout and Reward Changes in Korea
Similar to the test of shorter raid lockouts for older content, Korea is testing separate raid lockouts for 10 and 25 man, as well as higher item level rewards in 25 man raids. The translation below was provided by PrairieChicken .

Therefore, from the upcoming patch we decided to change the raid instance lockout rules for all KR servers. Raids, as usual, will be reset every 7 days following maintainance checks. However, after 5.1 patch 10 man and 25 man raids will have seperate lockouts.

From now on, players could play raid instances, such as Mogu-Shan Vaults, in both 10 man and 25 man difficulty. Normal and Heroic difficulty raid of same instance will share same lockout as usual. Furthermore, the loots of 25 man raids has been buffed, and will offer higher iLV compared to same 10 man instance. For example, Terrace of the Endless Spring in 25 man difficulty will drop loots with iLV of 504, wile 10 man will drop 496.

We wish that players will further enjoy the contents and gain satisfactory rewards, and decided to offer the system that suits most well with the KR players.

Some bosses are more difficult in 25, some bosses are more difficult in 10.

    That is all.

Bring this back please, the rewards should be greater for the collective efforts of a 25 man raid team.

If people prefer 10 man then they can stick to 10 man.

Good, now if they could please extend it to EU/NA everything would be right in this world.

Maybe lower the ilvl of 10men loot a bit more.

That's not even the point. 10 mans, when tuned properly, are just as difficult as 25s. It all comes down to tuning. here's why.

-1 battle rez, vs. 3 in 25 man
-Higher chance of missing buffs (although less likely to be an issue these days)-Losing one player is 10% of your raid in 10 man, and is often unrecoverable if they cannot be revived. This is NOT an issue in 25 man, and you often see progression kills done with 1-2 players down. 1 player in 25 is only 2.5% of your raid, and as long as its not the tank, you're probably okay. An acceptable loss if you will. -If you're really struggling more in 25 than 10, it's often due to unnoticed slacking on the part of one or more of your other players. If you're carrying 2-3 players in 25 man, you can often pull through with excellent other players picking up the slack. That's nearly impossible for 10 man -- everyone has to pull their weight.

Apples to apples (all players in the raid pulling their weight), then it all comes down to tuning.

These two statements couldn't be any more wrong. Any 10m who doesn't have the appropiate buffs these days simply arent trying. And as far as one person dead in a 25m encounter, have you ever experienced a DPS check encounter? There wasn't a chance in hell you could kill Ultraxion in time with one person dead the entire time during the first weeks of DS. In fact even if you had a rez available, the process of people dieing, losing food buffs, lag time between rezzes, was often enough to kill you. And let's say the one person dead was a healer during Heroic Rag, good luck completing the last phase of that fight down a healer (pre nerf obv).

Wait. So Blizzard is "experimenting" with this "new" approach to raid locksouts and loot.... that already existed and worked quite successfully for the entire duration of WotLK which means they really aren't new. Sounds like they're taking a play from Apple's book.

Cataclysm was a disaster for Blizzard. They should move away from everything related to it. Including 10 man raids.

Since people love to hate on the other raid format, lets be controversial and hope that 25man's get made the easier raid type and get lower ilevel in the future. The stats speaks for themselves most people prefer the 10mans so dont fuck em over.

I feel bad for saying that though, 25man deserve something extra, I'm just not convinced extra ilevels are what it should be.
I can't, and probably never will, understand this mindset that 'ERMAHGERD, 25 MAN RAIDS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH HARDER AND BETTER THAN 10 MAN'.

As someone that has raided BOTH 10 and 25 man extensively, I personally prefer 10 man; it's more intimate (not in the sexy way), fun, and it typically means you don't have to deal with 15 other retards that the core 10 people carry.

The idea that people who raid 25 mans are 'superior' is stupid (not saying you said that, but I can't stand that mentality). Some fights are MORE difficult, to me, in 10 mans. I don't think it would be ok to penalize a group of raiders, no matter what level they play at, simply because they A) couldn't get 25 (GOOD) people for raiding, or B) simply prefer to raid 10 mans.

The only "effort" is getting 25 people to play, everything else is virtually the same, dont try to twist things up.

Well.. this seems rather unfair... can't help but feeling im am missing something out not playing on a KR server...

Next raid tier, its coming (back) to Europe!!! )))))))

International pressure is guiding this decision that's it, really broad stroked. I bet the KR players probably have to deal with way different shit than everyone else and they probably have legit mmo game competition there too , where the rest of the world just has WoW (again really broad stroked). We will see what happens and if gives Blizzard a real competitive advantage you can bet the house it comes back EU/US.

In current tier i have done 10 and 25 and i must say 25 was much harder. Still both easy though but 25 is defiantly harder. allot of fights are if 1 person mess up raid is dead on 25 man this gives more chance of error.

However in other raids i have had some 25man fights more easy than 10 man ones. Who is to say blizzard wont just make 25man harder than 10 anyway with this change.

Hope it comes to the EU would love to raid 10 mans on main as-well as 25 man so i could pickup a little extra loot and have a easy VP grind.

o hope it wont come back to eu realms... it was nightmare running 25 mans....

Way to split the community Blizzard.

On one hand you now have the 25man raiders frothing at the mouth with the thought of getting better gear than those "10man scrubs" the vocal minority would have you call 10man raiders.

On the other hand you have the 10man raiders wondering how they will get groups for 25s together. Do they merge? Do they pug? Do they recruit? Whichever they choose I'm pretty sure they'll want to get the best gear to complete the content.

And should you decide to implement it or not, you are definitely going to piss off a portion of either of those two groups. Well played.

The answer to that, of course, is not to make further changes that disrupt the community. I do think that the move to 10-man raiding was a big mistake, but moving back to 25-man doesn't fix anything, it just makes the social impact far worse.
