you said would i be alright with them charging for raid finder or for more levels or for new professions which you have to buy expansions for.

the majority of what you said only comes when a new expansion comes out.

or are you trying to say if blizzard sold pay to win items? thats entirely different from things like mounts and pets since both are vanity items blizzard doesnt sell any non vanity items individually they sell them in expansions.

tbh they should start selling white transmog sets on the blizzard store too that would make alot of money

i also fail to see how any of this is any different from tcg mounts and pets which have been around for almost the entirety of the game? or are those different because they come with physical items?

Your original argument of not understanding why people pay extra to get extra does not make sense. If people want to pay above any beyond for something they will enjoy, feel like they are getting a fair deal, and have the money to buy it, they will do so. It may not be an equal exchange for you personally to trade $25 for a mount, and that's perfectly fine, but to say it boggles your mind that anyone would ever spend money frivilously on a mount when I'm sure you yourself have bought something you didn't need before but thought would be cool to have means you know exactly why.

If you're asking how people can stand to pay $25 on top of the $15 they pay every month, it's the same as paying extra for premium channels on cable that you certainly don't need, but if you have the extra money and the desire, why the heck not? Yes, they could have just put it in the game and made it available to everyone (which is what I meant by free, so I apologize for that confusion) and no one ever forgets that, but the fact that I can have a cute cat made of fire rolling around and making adorable noises at me for a mere $10 is the only thing that matters. Does it mean they're ripping me off because I could've got it for free if they weren't stingy and just put it in the game instead of putting it on the store? Yeah, sure. Do we care? Nah. Do some people? Definitely, there's a lot of people like you who refuse because it seems rude or extreme to pay above and beyond, or some that are living paycheck to paycheck who can't afford to. And I do think it's a shame that not everyone can get them without paying extra, and I'm sure we could talk about boycotting it and making a difference in how things are run, but the bottom line is that people will still buy it if they like it enough.

If you're asking how Blizzard has the tenacity to charge people extra on top of the monthly service, it's to make more money. You're right, it doesn't matter where it goes, so I shouldn't have brought it up. It's just blatently to get more cash out of their subscribers. I know that, people who refuse to buy it know it, everyone who buys it knows it. Whether you think that's evil or not because they're using it to fund Titan, or perhaps build a new pool at the 3rd beachhouse of the CEO, doesn't matter really, not our concern if we're happy riding a pretty pony. They can make money from people who want a shiny mount or pet, and they will do so.

its also kinda dumb considering that there are like 5 other versions of this mount in different colors and 5.2 just went on the ptr for all we know it might be available in game in a different color

I mean so what if they want to cash in on 1 or 2 features, they make tons of other content you can enjoy...
Pay extra for LFR? Advantage over other players.
Pay extra for secondary professions? Advantage over other players.
Pay extra for the last level? Again, an advantage over other players.

Paying extra for a mount? No advantage at all, it moves at the same speed. It's not even an advantage for mount collectors going for the ''Collect X mounts'' achievement, because they keep in mind that it should be possible to get said achievement without buying any of the TCG/Store mounts.

I obviously meant on top of your normal expansion and subscription costs, it was simply to illustrate how poor of an argument "so what if they charge for X" is as it leads down a very slippery slope.

Perhaps they would, or quite possibly they would lose out in the long run due to loss of customers due to pushing the line to far.

They are as far as I see it borderline due to their nature of being a part of something else and subject to luck and not money alone "just because they can".

Missing the point, you could replace the items on the list with what ever really, the point was to show that if mounts are acceptable to pay extra for then why not start charging for anything and everything, I mean "it's just..."

It's easier to achieve it if you buy the mounts though so I'd say it can be an advantage.

    That is one ugly mount.

Holy shit this looks like garbage. Even worse this piece of crap is listed at 25$, I mean really? Why can't you just do an epic dungeon or raid/etc and get the fucking mount is it that serious?

Really, activision is running this game into the ground.

It's funny when people act like they aren't already paying a monthly fee for this game.

i really doubt theres many people who would quit the game because blizzard starts selling transmog sets with no ilvl or stats on them.

thats like saying "IM GONNA QUIT BECAUSE THAT DOUCHEBAGS WEARIN A WEIRD LOOKIN HAT"

The mount looks cool, but it's certainly not worth $25.

Like really, the quality is like most other mounts; Blizzard should at least put more work into it.

    I'll pass.

Edit: Looked it over some more and it looks incredibly detailed, it just doesn't seem special.

For example, the Celestial Steed is completely unique. The Heart of the Aspects also looks like no other mount.

This one just looks too much like a Talbuk. If I spend $25 on a mount, I'd want it to stick out - not just get lost in the crowd.

you do know that vivendi is the one who bought activision right? which means technically blizzard bought activision

$25? FML, that's almost 2 months worth of subscription fees. Or a character transfer. Or a faction change. Or a r ace change.

    $15 would have sufficed.

You're all missing the real thing going on here!

How does he go from jumping to flying in the video?! Unless the demo person had no flying at level 90, then went and bought flying just for the vid? Or is there two versions of the mount, one ground, one flying?

doesnt mmo champion do some weird personal server type thingamajig?
  1. Forumchibi's Avatar
Good question... the gear is the same, so it's pretty likely the same character... but they don't normally add two versions. Probably didn't have flying before and then go it after like you said.

I was going to say, I wondered if the people making all these videos use their own servers. Who knows...

It is the ugliest mofo I've ever seen in this game!
YES it got details, But HOLY SHIT it is ugly,

Wont waste a Euro on this thing, ever.

A flying Troll Dinosaur ( Pterosaur ) mount would have been soo soo much cooler than a flying goat! Just saying....

I actually sort of like it, it's a bit different.. that being said still not interested in buying it.

It would be rather funny if MMO champion used some illegal private server for their videos and the like.

WE'RE ON TO YOU MMOCHAMPION! GONNA BRING DOWN THE LAW!
