Well... this definitely confirms now that they definitely are trying to spin off World of Warcraft into other games - just as Neth hinted at long long ago...

Too bad their first announcement is hitting with a massive roar of "meh..."

Much better than any other team on wow. If they put half as much effort into their games as they do these cinematics we would have some epic ass games.

Yeah Uber! Love to play TCG with friend, now will be able to play with anyone in the world. I'm more than satisfied.

I wish there was an Android version so I could play on my Nexus 7, would be awesome.

Otherwise, it looks like a cool little game to play

A little baffled that people, who spent days over-analysing the teaser no doubt, thought a PAX 30 minutes demo was going to be some huge announcement or new IP. There was no Blizzcon teaser, no website teaser, no prep for a major press release.

What? The only footage of an iPad in the video is of a late-20s early-30s woman playing. The other shots are of a guy, presumably a Blizzard artist, playing it on a Cintiq with a stylus.

The good: could be a fun little time killer
    The bad: no android version
    The ugly: that in-game voiceover

I can't say I was overly excited, but I think it looks pretty decent. I did like the way the gameplay was laid out and I warmed up to it as they reached late game. Though, still not sure if I will money into buying cards.

A decent mini game is my judgement of it.

No Android despite it having a larger market share. Why are developers so stupid? Fuck Apple.

I'm normally a lurker here, but I have to say. What is with all the hate here? It's like the hate that followed announcement of MoP.

I personally think this game looks fun, as long as they add a better chat function, possibly custom hero portrait and such. I mean, you don't NEED to buy cards. I personally never have much time to get a group to play a TCG, and this will be a nice replacement for it.

So many MadKids in comments. xD

im honestly not suprised that most of the users at MMOChampion dont think much of a card game. i used to play MTG (still have about 300 bucks of cards (couple cards in the 70 dollar range. no, really. Gaea's Cradle) and it was fun.. MTG has an online game but you have to buy the virtual cards. i dont like that concept. so, instead, this is F2P.

im going to reserve judgement, but on the surface it looks kind of interesting. however, tbh, blizzard said they were releasing something new, not a sequel or anyhting tied to there existing franchises. this is warcraft derived... so therefore they aren't done announcing yet, or they flat out lied.

Yeah, not sure why people expected something big as the announcement sold it as a little something.

This is the kind of thing I was expecting, but I think it's a good thing. Casual and mobile gaming is plagued with tons and tons of really bad titles from small developers, or some really good ones that simply dont the public attention they deserve. It is nice to see a big development team take a shot at it.

And getting it this year is very nice. I wasn't expecting to see anything from blizz until 2015. I they can push out regular updates to hearthstone or push out other similar small-scale releases, it will give a nice steady stream of new stuff...

If it's a small monthly flat fee for access to the whole game then it's fine (for me at least), but I'm afraid it will be a bunch of micro-transactions that will amount to a lot if you want everything.
    Obviously didn't watch the presentation.

They sell the booster packs for "about" $1, or you can earn them through winning matches and earning medals on their weekly ladder rankings. You can also craft cards by disenchanting cards you don't want and using them as materials.

MMO-Champ community. Where less than half a percent of the WoW population think they speak for everyone.

If you don't like it then shut up, and don't play it. I bet more than half of the people that posted here about how bad it looks will be playing it. Just like every they bought every Blizzard store mount and pet.

It is completely free, no monthly fee, The only thing that costs you is if you want to buy a deck instead of earning it.

It's not what I expected, and I am very skeptical. It got more interesting after some gameplay etc, but I doubt I will play this game much. It's more of a tablet and "facebook" game, that your annoying cousins, aunts etc will play.

Am I going to try it out ? sure why not, it's F2P so no reason not to give it a shot.

I can only say, so MANY kids in this thread. I do understand that this game might not be for you, but it is for some of us.

So exited for this, will definitely play.

Honestly? Something a bit more original than transferring the card game to the screen.

I was hoping for a "Lost Vikings" reimagining/reboot on iOS or something... Hate to say it, but Card Games are REALLY more of a 90s thing... and the Warcraft TCG was pretty much over a few years ago...

I see the appeal, but it ain't for me. Oh well.

I've got an idea...those who aren't blindly hating this/blizzard/the world and saying things like "bli$$ard" let's just leave the thread. Let these angry nerds have their rage fest at something so completely minute that doesn't actually effect them and let's go have actual good conversations while they're seeing red. GOGOGOGO

They should put it in the game... Why the hell are they making it a stand-alone game? Put it inside WoW... I would play it then.. Why are they dividing their efforts? It's called hearthstone, it would be cool if you could play it at the inns in WoW... WoW needs card games..

Must say I've got mixed feelings right now, I'm annoyed at all the bitching, but quite excited at the prospect of this fun and easy new game!

Annoyed because everyones is complaining that its not Titan or Blizard All stars - The announcement and following blue posts specifically said it wasn't going to be either of those. This pretty much exactly fills the criteria they talked about - its something different - check, its a smaller scope of project - check its a new game - check.

As for announcement itself, I think it'll be a fun game, its F2P so its not gonna cost much (not sure if you'll still need to pay upfront? or if it will be totally free? I've always kinda been interested in the whole TCG thing, but not really had any friends who are into it, and I lack the free time to go find a club where I could get involved, this seems the perfect way to get involved! On the bonus side you just know that future Collectors Edition games will be giving out bonus rare cards for this game too!

Already signed up for the Beta, can't wait to play!
