MMO-Champion - Blizzard Trademarks "Corgis Unleashed" (Okay, not really)
Blizzard Trademarks "Corgis Unleashed" (Okay, not really)
It's time to end the fun party we've been having for the past 24H. As it turns out, it's pretty easy to add whatever the hell you want on a .gov website. According to this new page, Blizzard just trademarked Corgis Unleashed, a game that according to our sources would kind of look like this.

Edit: Apparently the original news was too subtle, the "Corgis Unleashed" trademark was registered this morning for fun, as it turns out, there is absolutely no check and anyone can register something under Blizzard's name. This is an application, not a confirmation, you don't even need to pay the $275 application fee.

We probably jumped on the bandwagon a little early and I spent the past 24H double checking stuff since it was basically everywhere, I guess today is just not the day. Sorry guys, going to call the whole The Dark Below thing a hoax.

Thought it was strange that they didn't do the same off-shore trademarking like with Hearthstone. Same thing with Reaper of Souls, no trademark to be found for that. We likely won't know what the next expansion is until blizz wants us to know.

Yes Cute but Deadly is real. The Dark Below never showed up in TESS (uspto.gov). So im gonna just call that MMO was the source of the hoax until Boub can show where he got the info from (which trademark website).

Pretty sure its impossible to have access to preliminary filings and you only have the ones that get publisched in TESS. So hoax seems to originate from MMOC.

I am fairly certain it is real, Blizzard is just doing that just to prove a point and try to throw us off.

Original source was an export of the filling on scribd, we tracked it back to the .gov through the URL of the mark.jpg in the document. The scribd link can be found all over the web 1 day or so before we posted on MMO-C.

So did Blizzard actually trademark Corgis Unleashed and Dark Below or did someone else trademark them and make it look like Blizzard did it? Or are Corgis Unleashed and Dark Below not actually trademarked at all and it just looks like they are? Or did Blizzard actually trademark both Corgis Unleashed and Dark Below and is possibly using one of them as a red herring? The title of this post says that it wasn't really trademarked. I'm so confused.
