Ghostcrawler to leave Blizzard Entertainment
Ghostcrawler announced this morning on Facebook that he will be leaving Blizzard Entertainment to pursue a "great opportunity for something new and exciting". I don't usually share my opinions in news post, so there's a tweet with my full thoughts on the subject.

sometimes the wow community disgusts me, today is one of those days!
in stead of wishing him good luck on his future endeavors, people still have the urge to hate on him!
I for one am sad to see him go, i started wow before he got on board,
and i'm thankful for a great number of changes that he had a hand in!
I do wish him the best of luck, and i'll keep following his career with interest!

Yep. But also a lot of people who have kneejerk reactions to everything, and can only ever bring themselves to blame one thing for a multitude of problems (however minor they might be). Ghostcrawler was not the driving force behind everything, good or bad. He was one of many, and was often the voice we heard.

If you're going to come back because he's gone, then whatever. You probably will like it just as much as you did while he was still around.

...I'm just still boggled that he'd leave, considering Blizzard's status as one of the best gaming developers around for the last two decades.

While I may have not been his greatest fan, I hope he fairs well in whatever he pursues next. Now finally time for some fresh blood.

They will disgust you more in the next few weeks. Watch the hate people will throw at who every gets his job. I am sure alot of people working for blizzard would be happy to NOT get that promotion because of how abusive the community is towards the position.

I wondered why he didn't do the Conan O'Brien bit. I thought it was strange they had that other guy do it.

I like how the people rejoicing in GC's departure can't articulate anything beyond trite, hashed meme posts.

Durr, back like 6 years ago the game had more subs
Must've been GC making it fall.
Not that it's almost a decade old.

And balance wasn't even really a thing back then.

+Strength cloth? +Spirit guns? Why the hell not?

    Who says I'm "butthurt?"

In fact I find a nice synergy in how the knee-jerk responses reflect their knee-jerk reactions to the team's design decisions. At least these people are consistent in their vapidness.

The only people going to be "butthurt" are the ones that were desperately hoping that GC's departure, forced or otherwise, would return the game to some sort of non-remembered "Golden age."

A nice guy, overall. I'll definetely miss the smart way which he bitchslapped all the uneducated wide-mouths of this community.

Memes are just an ass and lazy tool for display an "opinion".

There are two kinds of people in these threads. Ones who will miss him and are sad to see him go and those that can't stand him and are happy he's leaving. You don't see the people happy he's leaving whining and bitching on every single page about the other group. Guess why that is.

Got to admire someone who went out of their way to communicate with the utter cesspool that is the wow community.
He was only one person, and never solely responsible for the decisions stupid people were so keen to make him a scapegoat for.

I can't say I agreed with everything he said, but he played a major part I feel in getting the regular communications from the devs to the point where it is now.
The information we see coming out is generally more informative than it has ever been.

I for one wish him all the best.
