Still, this a more than a little transparent. Random alpha dump and then no word for 2 months other than that they haven't released alpha because they're working on the intro sequence of quests. Then we get alpha with the intro still absent and only one zone that was already partly available at blizzcon. I think even if you're completely in the dark you could take some lessons from what Blizzard is doing here, unless you're really just that stubborn.

Businesses make decisions based on numbers. If this is a calculated move, it stands to reason that Blizzard is expecting to gain something. Well, if we're going to be reasonable here, they don't really stand to gain anything from an early stage F&F alpha release except the usual testing feedback that accompanies every alpha/beta sequence. I would be dumbfounded if this move had ANY effect on the amount of spotlight Wildstar is currently holding.

Bashiok could blow his nose and you guys would be like "SHOTS FIRED AT WILDSTAR!" Give it a rest, no one gives a shit.

Overall I think this will play out to be a terrible move on Blizzards part. Giving access to the content, even if drip fed to begin with, will have more players burning out sooner. Blizz should have just shot congratulations at Carbine and then carried on with a proper timetable.

They need to do this for testing and feedback purposes. It's a smaller pool of testers than they have used previously anyway.

OK since we're now all on the page of Blizzard only release to mess with there rivals, so when's the next big non WoW MMO release/expansion as that will be the week we see WoD beta?

I may be missing something, but why are addons being advertised as Warlords stock UI improvements? Particularly, ones that are older than Mists and Wrath respectively?

The Toybox UI has been added and a basic list of items is in place.

Where is the basic list?

Blizzard has a long history of taking successful mods, duplicating them and integrating them into the game as stock functionality. Standard operating procedure. It's good for the game in the long run.

Ya know how when the president goes to visit the troops and you see him smile and wave as he makes his way to a giant tent on the other side of the crowd to go have lunch with the general and other officers. It's like that. We're the peons in the crowd trying to be excited, but knowing after he goes inside we're going back to what we were doing before.

I have no problem with addons (or a close recreation of such) getting integrated into the stock UI. I'm just wondering why the post is specifically pointing at two addons instead of stating that such functionality has been integrated (if such a thing has even been done). The post fails to even mention that, which is what confused me.

Wait instead of the sparkles there is just a outline now...that's something else that made WoW different from other MMO's an outline is just lame tbh sad in my opinion
