The "updated boxart" in the headlines caused me to panic.

chad should clarify that the "updated" was just to add the Standard Edition art.

I still have few months to cancel it either way.

"Update (8:00 PM EST): The Collector's Edition of Warlords of Draenor is now available for purchase. New Box Art has also been posted!"

New was for standard edition, not CE... hopefully.

How come the mousepad doesn't use the image with all the warlords? I guess blackhand is better than some random orc, but still disappointed.

So, according to the twitter the digital CE will also have the hearthstone backs, but just haven't been updated yet.

If I were to buy a Collectors Editon in stores when it comes out, would I still get the Level 90 boost?

Actually, the expansions for WoW have always been $40 at launch, with the CEs being $80.

This is a $10 step up. People are freaking out over a 12.5% increase, and who knows, this might not be a price that will stick around, we'll see.

Collection. I have an entire shelf with WoW items, with the CE boxes as a background.

So if I already pre-ordered the digital deluxe there's no way to "upgrade" to CE?

Huh, 90$ is expensive? I've been paying around 150$ for every Collector's Edition I've bought for WoW so far..(in Europe)
That said, isn't it just 10$ more expensive than the previous ones? Exactly like the standard game is?..
Why is this so outrageous and surprising suddenly?

You can still buy the Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria, which first retailed for $80, right now, brand new on Amazon for about $50.

The days of the WoW CE being hard to find collector's items are gone.

$90.00USD I dunno why everybody is complaining about it. I've boughten the CE of each of the X-pac and 1st. I expected it to be under $100.00USD. "Take my Money" Blizzard........lol

Well.. There won't be much descending from any sky considering they've disabled flying.

Not really. It's only $10 more than what it has been since Wrath. It was $69.99 for BC. Still cheaper than most CEs you get from some games anyway. The Artbook alone would be about $50 or $60 if sold separately from Blizzard, anyway.

So the first disc on the left is the soundtrack the 2 in the middle are the behind the scenes but is the 4 the WOD installation discs? They havent used 4 discs since bc.

We here in Switzerland tend to pay 115~130 US$ for those exact same CEs you pay 80CHF for. (1USD=~1.1CHF)

They are always overpriced. CE's are for people with more money than sense.

Correction; They are for people that doesn't have to count if they can afford both their hobby and live comfortably, you seem jealous of people with money.

To be honest, I think the price of CE is okay, only because of the artbook and behind the scenes dvd etc.

What pisses me off about the game industry is digital downloads being the same price as boxed games or even worse, here in England, our main game retailer GAME right, if you check the website, they have some games priced like this:

    Box: £19.99
    Digital Download : £29.99

Stuff like that, is fucking ridiculous.

That said, I've never bought a boxed CE, I wish I bought D3's one for the original wings, and I nearly bought RoS CE.

Edit: The same goes for movies, books and magazines, magazines especially are almost always exactly the same price as the physical copy.

All of blizz CE have been a waste and only fanboys really buy it. not worth it at all imo. but still i get it when people buy them cause its fun to have the extra shit to show off....

I just wish they would make vanilla-panda like 30 bucks so i could convince some of my friends to play this xpac ... they would if the whole things werent so much. Its the number one reason some of my vanilla\bc friends arent coming back
