While Protection is technically their MS, they are in the raid as Arms, which causes other players to believe that Arms is the MS of that Warrior. Is that Warrior, or the Master Looter, then in the wrong if they receive a tank trinket?

Likewise, what about players who change specs mid-raid (such as a DPS switching to Healer) to allow the raid to continue if the group can't backfill people who have left, where do these players fit in with regards to MS>OS?

Let's then say that the raid leader fails to update their LFG listing to reflect the change. The change doesn't get explained to the DPS who subsequently join, causing them to feel that something has been ninja'ed when the now-Healer is given a DPS item. Is anyone actually in the wrong here?

These are just some examples of the ambiguity MS>OS can fall into.

Generally, the Master Looter system is intended to be used in groups of people you trust. By joining a PuG raid with Master Looter set, you join knowing that the Master Looter has the power to assign the loot. If you don't seek precise clarification, in chat, on how the loot will be allocated, our Game Masters cannot then assist you on the basis of unspoken assumptions when so many grey areas are in play.

WoW's loot system is one of the most archaic and poorly designed aspects of the game. I feel like it's constantly under the devs' radar. It really needs a complete do-over.

Are you stupid or just a damn moron? Read what it says you idiot, you need to have gotten the legendary ring first before you can buy the fel.

i think they should just switch all loot to personal loot and remove all the other types of loot system except for the highest difficulty, it also prevents top guilds to having to level 10 alts and gear their mains on heroic to have an advantage on world 1st race.

Typing / turns on RP walk (or switches to the third action bar, but that's just dumb so I unbound it)

I can personal point out several different occasions where players have reported ninjas, with proof posted in chat and in the group finder listing, stating that loot is MS-OS, had stolen loot and GMs did nothing about it. Hell everyone on my friends list has had at least one piece of gear ninja'ed this expansion. The forums (both here, the official message board and reddit) is fulled with pictures/videos of dudes ninjaing gear. We know its your policy to not report punishments given to players, that's cool and all but dont use that as a smoke screen to hide your lack of action.

I will use my report as an example :

Got into a heroic highmaul group that stated in the group finder listing as MS-OS.
As we were summoning, multiple people got the RL/ML to state MS-OS.
We pull and killed the boss, the DPS was horrid, the healers sucked and one tank carried us to a kill.
    ring and plate helm drops.
RL/ML takes the ring, abandons the helm and leaves.
At least 3 people report the ninja.
Player still had the ring until he replaced it in BRF a couple of weeks later (was watching his armory).

In my example, the language could not be any clearer but nothing was done. One case in a thousand with the same result. the asshat gets what he/she/it wants and a group has had its time wasted.

I play on a small realm, with little active players on the horde side. Raiding is something I enjoyed but I cant get enough players to form a decent guild group so am forced to pug. I lead groups here and there but am usually need one or two bosses and I hate to be an ass and drop a group after getting what I want.

Yeah so you are either understaffed, ignoring tickets, or incompetent. I hope its not the latter, I have seen you pull some amazing acts of justice (see Ashes of Alar story from about 2 years ago) and almost every encounter I have had with a GM has been pleasant even if I did not get the answers / actions I wanted. So please stem the tide of toxic players that destroy this game.
Agree 100%. It has happened to me on more than one occasion. Loot rules in public chat. ML ninjas everything and nothing gets done.

The "/" with the ? over it does open chat with the slash. The one on the number pad does the walk. Unless you've re-keyed the controls..

Jesus. Why don't they just mail everyone a maxed ring?

    I don't even have a "/" with "?" over it. I have a "+" with a "?" over it. And a "7" with a "/" over it. :P

If they consider "MS > OS" to be vague, perhaps it's time for Blizzard to define it, instead of leaving it up to the players to explain what it means each time a new person joins the raid.

I'd like to know if there's a cap on how many upgrades you can use a week now though. Can we really upgrade once with Archi and then 4 more times off of Valor cap a week?

They you probably have a qwertz layout keyboard with a similar look to this.

While those with a qwerty layout will look like this.

The ?/ key next to your right shift on a qwerty keyboard does open chat and even automatically puts in the / command for you as well.

What if someone is playing an OS for the sake of the pug raid?
What if someone is playing their mainspec, but states that their MS is something else because they want gear for their other spec?
What if someone is overgeared and in there for transmog gear only?
What if someone is overgeraed and in there for warforged/socket chance on tier only?
What if someone considers both, or all three of their specs their "mainspec" because they are all geared and played equally?
What if someone is rolling for a clear downgrade, but technically it is still their "mainspec"?
What if the ML actually uses some good judgement to not give loot to someone who was a cancer to the group and intentionally tried to cause wipes?
What if someone who doesn't need loot comes in and makes it clear that he's going to roll for a friend in the group?

The whole reason Blizzard doesn't step in is because there are so many grey situations, where there isn't a clear right or wrong. MS>OS is incredibly vague.

It sucks getting ninjad, I've been the "victim" of such occurrences in pugs 3 times this year, but I completely and 100% understand why Blizzard chooses not to get involved on 99% of all loot quarrels.

Could they have at least made it so the first archimonde kill of the week on normal, heroic, and mythic all drop fel as well? Just seems like another valor grind =/

....It's not clear? MS>OS means that people who need it get it before people who are gearing a secondary spec. Before Blizzard stopped caring, taking a piece of loot while you're the master looter without letting people roll would get you suspended. You're obviously part of the problem. Hell, you're probably one of those dicks who ninja gear while you have ML
