Legion - Restoration Druid Artifact Intro
The general Druid intro has been changed up a little bit from the last Druid intro we posted. You can see the Resto Druid artifact weapons on our Artifact Weapons page.

Legion - Achievement Search
The default UI is getting a nice search box on the achievements pane in Legion!

The Tomb of Sargeras was raised. Other parts of the Broken Isles in Legion expansion have been around since the Sundering. (DaveKosak)

Do you have a similar sentiment?
I agree that offering multiple difficulty levels for end-game PVE content has been challenging. It's not okay for some players to just not have an endgame. On the other hand, it's possible to make something epic feel not epic if you can reduce it to punching bag status with a slider. I don't have a good solution here, and to be fair, I haven't thought about it a lot in some time.

I still think "bring the player" was the right call. We were in a world where many specs and some classes just couldn't argue for a raid spot and others were brought just for their fabulous buffs or utility. I don't think some kind of group buff arms race is the right call either. (Would you rather have Blessing of Kings or Might? Probably Kings. Sorry paladin number 2, but we need to sit you and bring a hunter.)

In terms of role, maybe there was a way to keep Paladins as the AE tanks and single target healers. Maybe if there had been multiple endgames then there could be more variety. It sounds like the current devs are trying to differentiate the classes more without making any unviable which is a great goal. But I do think letting more classes do dungeons and raids was the right call at the time. Thoughts?
For me it meant that having a good, reliable person at your side should be more important than the class that they play.
That was the goal. My first guild had 5 highly skilled rogues. It was lame to exclude them just because of their class choice. (OccupyGStreet)

Computers - Setup of the Month
Each month or so we will post a couple of hardware setups for those of you who are thinking of upgrading their computer!

This month
The current SSD prices are fairly flat right now, with most SSDs under $0.50 per gigabyte when on sale. New GPUs may be coming towards the middle of this year

Depending on how much you want to overclock, you may need to spend a bit more for a better CPU cooler like the NH-D15.

Unless you are doing a lot of video rendering or streaming, you do not need the 6700K and should spend that money elsewhere.

Make sure to keep your AMD and Nvidia drivers up to date.

Don't forget to visit the Computer Forum for any extra questions!

Has anyone tried the builds for computers that are posted here?

How well would the Puppy run WoW? My store bought desktop is over 6 yrs old. I needs an upgrade but don't have much money

The achievement UI needs a damn rework now, not a search box IMO. 4 expansions (5 soon) stacked on each other, big clusterfuck as of now.

It certainly would be nice if the Dungeons & Raids achievement area was broken down by raid. There is definitely some more that can be done for it, but this is a decent first step.

Another month goes by with no beta in sight. Hilarious.

In response to the computer builds, the gpu's that were recommended are good, but people should wait until july/august for the new cards. Sure you can say that about any gen of cards, but this next gen will showcase new architectures from both AMD and Nvidia. It's suppose to be game changing, so we'll have to sit back and see. (yes I know they say that almost every year too)

Another month with new builds almost every week or so. Why do people care how Blizzard call it? It's work in progress. Alpha most likely means the number of people invited to the game to test it and give feedback. Hilarious.

What's with Mmo Champ and their massive boners for a non-relevant developer that left WoW a long time ago?
Seems like they've got an obsession with this guy.

Alpha in computer software means that the product (game here) is incomplete and not entirely working. Which seems to be the case when you hear about missing specs (that seems to be finished now), dungeons/raids not open yet, level caps below 110, and so on.

You get beta when you have every functionality implemented and move on testing, bug hunting. And, for a game, balancing. So, yes, the "no beta" is a valid issue.

I'll note that, once they are in beta, things tend to go fast. Not the 5-6 weeks of a patch beta on PTR, but not 6 months either. But yea, no beta means at best a June release.

They made a pool long time ago asking players if they wanted to have his tweets on the front page. The majority of the community said "yes",

Maybe it's you and all the other whiners that keep posting the same comments over and over and over to have an obsession with him.

I feel where GC is coming from, and it's true it felt shitty to main a spec that wasn't viable in most raid comps. However, I feel homogenizing the classes and specs wasn't the right way to go, and instead they could have increased viability of those classes in unique ways. Example, give rogues the shroud of smoke which makes all ranged attacks miss for 10 seconds, then give mages a reflection shield that does a portion of damage back for 5 seconds. It's possible to share the love in unique ways that give class flavor. It honestly feels much worse to be brought down to the same level instead of having more people rise to the level I'm on.

OK guys, I have to say it. Those setups are sooo bad. 1k$ and u cant get 970? Whats wrong with ya. 650W for those setups is sooo much... TT 530SE is enough (even Corsair 450 is ok). 2TB? Get 1TB and its still much and u can use this money elsewhere. SSD - u can buy it later. 16GB of ram? OMG, NO GAME NEEDS THAT MUCH. If u did what I said - enjoy GTX 970 (which is obviously better than 380)

If you only do very basic things yes an i5 is more than enough, but it also depends on a lot of things. Saying that if you only game you don't need a 6700k is a long thin line, as in games are starting to use more and more cores. Games that use 4 cores leaves nothing for windows and other background tasks, thus reducing your in game performance. I've had a fair few different PCs over the years and always having an i7 has saved me a lot of bs compared to friends having an i5 or quad / duo core.

Another thing on the cpu side, i3/5 will shit on AMDs CPUs for performance.

Also you only need 8GB of ram for a gaming PC.

Don't expect beta until game is almost done, and for it to be a small and short one.
Alpha is basically also beta at the moment.
  1. Isheria's Avatar
You won't see beta until all specs are implemented most likely and at the current rate of bi-weekly builds with 3 specs per build that will happen at the end of march.

It's been at best a build every other week, and that's already not counting holiday season. So really, nowhere near close to "almost every week".

They originally had that back in WotLK and I can't remember when it was all clumped together to be things like 'Draenor dungeon' and 'Draenor raid'. It's better to have them in 2 categories because it'd be too much clutter there, and the search function helps a lot.
