A new build is on the way!

  • The new login screen is in!
  • Stormwind Park has been repaired.
  • The Horde Broken Shore intro is in, but the finale is missing. It is almost the same as the Alliance version, as it is the same scenario. It just has your faction leaders instead of the Alliance leaders.
  • There is now an even higher quality shadow setting - High-resolution dynamic soft shadows for the entire scene.
  • Class trials have an hourly and weekly time limit. After it expires, the character is locked until you boost it.
  • Legendary items are on a vendor for testing purposes.
  • Dungeon and Raid markers have been added to the World Map.

Hey all,
We have another alpha build going up today, primarily focused on bugfixes.

Notable changes focused on classes:

  • Class Status – We’ve made many iterations based on feedback and testing. Here are some highlights:
  • General – Tuning has started! A very rough pass has been made over all classes to get them into the same ballpark. Note that we have not yet finished a first tuning pass on artifacts yet; some specs are still significantly under- or over-powered with full artifacts. At this point, class mechanics are firm, but not necessarily set in stone yet.
  • Protection Paladins – Revisions to Judgment, Avenger’s Shield, Consecration, and Shield of the Righteous, and Hammer of the Righteous, to create better gameplay. Seraphim readded as a talent.
  • Brewmaster Monks – Gift of the Ox changed to trigger more reliably, and not trigger more often at low health. This effect has been moved to a talent, replacing Secret Ingredients. Expel Harm readded as a baseline ability.
  • Retribution Paladins – Holy Wrath talent replaced with a new version of Sanctified Wrath.
  • Marksmanship Hunters – Vulnerable revised to not snare the target.
  • Artifact Trait Status – Mechanics are firm at this point, but not necessarily set in stone. An initial tuning pass is still ongoing. Some noteworthy changes include:
  • Retribution Paladins – Divine Tempest and Echo of the Highlord tweaked.
  • Brewmaster Monk – Active ability revised to grant a defensive benefit.
  • Unholy Death Knight – Active ability revised to not overlap with Army of the Dead.
  • Arcane Mages – Active ability revised to be attached to a target, instead of the ground.
  • Broken Shore – Now ready for testing by Horde!
  • Order Hall Campaigns – We’re ready to test the campaigns (including Missions) for a few additional classes:
  • Druid
  • Priest
  • Warrior

Horde players can now accept "The Battle for Broken Shore" from Captain Russo at the docks outside of Orgrimmar.

Both Horde and Alliance forces will battle their way up the Broken Shore and through the Black City simultaneously, culminating in a dual-faction fight against Krosus and confrontation with Gul'dan.

    The new park is need pretty, but really empty.
    They REALLY have missed the opportunity to make a Worgen district with Guilnean architecture in SW, it's a shame.

    Ho yeah and that stupidly huge monument is stupid, they should have buried him in the SW cemetery next to his wife FFS.

    Park looks nice, but I'm still disappointed. Why is Tiffin completely given the short end of the stick? Either she should be moved to be next to Varian or Varian should be next to her. Blizzard's completely outright ignoring her and it's insulting. It's no wonder more players know who Hogger is than Tiffin. Blizzard does nothing to even point out who she is/was. I'm also disappointed Varian would be laid to rest on a vulnerable outlook. Let me guess, the next expansion is Azshara and she summons some giant tidal wave that washes the park (and Varian) away so they have to rebuild it AGAIN except this time instead of a memorial to Varian, Anduin builds himself a big ass statue that's bigger than anything his father built because he now has self esteem issues or something? Makes more sense to bury Varian on a little island in the pond near the graveyard. That is if Varian's even dead. I'm still not buying it. In a game where someone like Vanessa van Cleef, Illidan, and Onyxia come back after being thought dead, I'm not putting much stock in Varian being dead. Even seeing Voljin's funeral pyre doesn't have me believe he's dead, either. Stupid to make him warchief for like 5 minutes and then kill him. Any troll could be under that mask and wrappings. That's just insulting to troll players. Just when they think they'll see a step up with troll lore, it gets flushed down the toilet faster than they can blink.

    Also can't say I like the map system. It gets more and more convoluted every build. How long before it's more icon than map? Hopefully there's at least a filter so we can turn on/off icons at will. Just waiting for Blizzard to add in icons for repair vendors and faction locations. I'm sure there will be treasure maps again added at some point, too, which will be even MORE icons. Then turn on archaeology which adds a red blob. Then if you're on a series of quests in the area, there's more blue blobs, !s, and ?s. That's one cluttered map.

    Honestly what's even the point of a login screen now? Everyone is launching the game from the Battle.Net Launcher and skipping right past the login screen anyway....

    I doubt it's that. That character was overused, it's not a bad idea to replace it (whether the replacement is good, is another matter). Also Blizzard are better writers than Martin, his monotonous books work better on a good TV production that they happened to get my opinion.

    I just want to make a post saying my heart is literally broken. Why Looking at that picture actually hurt, I don't even know why this had to happen. Sigh.
