Destiny 2 Coming to Battle.net
Destiny 2 is coming to Battle.Net! This announcement is especially interesting after the announcement about transitioning away from the Battle.net name.

Bungie’s upcoming first-person action game Destiny 2 will be joining the party! We’re excited to announce that we're partnering with Bungie and Activision to support the PC version of Destiny 2 exclusively via Battle.net.

We’re big fans of Destiny here at Blizzard, and we’re honored to be able to help the talented folks at Bungie and Activision bring their much-anticipated sequel to a new platform. Being on Battle.net will allow Destiny 2 to plug in to our existing global network, freeing up the developers at Bungie to focus their energy and resources on making the best and most fun game they possibly can. This also means Destiny 2 players will have access to our online social functionality, including chat with friends, the ability to see which of their friends are online in Destiny 2 or in Blizzard games, and the ability to stream gameplay directly to Facebook.

See the FAQ below for further platform details, and stay tuned for updates as we get closer to welcoming Destiny 2 and its players to Battle.net. To learn more about Destiny 2, head over to www.destinythegame.com.

Why are you adding a non-Blizzard game to Blizzard's platform?
We loved Destiny and think Destiny 2 is going to be a great game. Blizzard has an established and successful global internet infrastructure we’ve used for years to support our own games. Creating a new network client for Destiny 2, which is bringing the franchise to PC for the first time, would needlessly extend the development period for the game. We want to get our hands on Destiny 2 as soon as possible like everybody else, so we offered to share our PC platform with our sister companies for this release.

Does this mean other games are going to come to the Blizzard platform too?
Our focus in terms of supporting non-Blizzard games is solely around Destiny 2. Aside from potentially evaluating needs or opportunities for future Activision games, we don’t have any short- or long-term plans to support third-party games with Battle.net. It’s important to us to maintain our quality standards for any experience or service we’re putting in front of our players, which represents a big investment of time and effort on our part, so this is not something we’re jumping into lightly.

Does this mean I'll be able to use my Blizzard Balance to purchase Destiny 2?
Yes!

Will Destiny 2 offer the same cross-game social features that Blizzard titles currently have?
Destiny 2 will be integrated into many of Blizzard’s existing social features—you’ll be able to chat with friends playing Destiny 2 the same way you already can for Blizzard games. Players will also be able to add friends and form parties the same way Blizzard gamers can. And, you’ll see a Destiny 2 status icon by your friends who are playing Destiny 2 the same way you do for friends playing StarCraft II, Diablo III, WoW, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.

Where and when will Destiny 2 on PC be available?
We’re excited to work with Bungie to bring the PC version of Destiny 2 to every region Blizzard currently operates in. Bungie is actively working through the global details. We look forward to sharing additional information later this year.

Who will be operating Destiny 2’s servers?
Bungie will maintain Destiny 2’s servers; Blizzard’s servers will be used for features related to the Blizzard platform, such as login and social functionality.

And what about customer service?
Destiny 2’s gameplay customer service will be handled by Bungie; Blizzard will handle customer service for platform and shop issues specific to our service.

It's ok, I didn't want to buy any tokens anyway.

WoW token prices going back to normal. Its too early to stockpile bnet balance anyway, also they will delay the PC version by unknown amount of time.

Nothing against Destiny 2 there, maybe it isn't even that far from their Titan vision that became Overwatch. Just with the name change of the launcher from battle.net to Blizzard makes less sense to me considering Destiny is not a Blizzard game. But it is obviously marketing and I am more likely to try the game than if it wasn't on the launcher.

Oh that's right, you probably have political wars on facebook and twitter, and cast judgment on people you've never met online. Fitting name for a weak SJW mind.

How long until we get garbage like CoD. Don't get me wrong Destiny is great. But it's only a matter of time until this becomes Origin style software EA uses.

Blizzard now has so many surplus resources, presumably due to loss of WoW subscribers and Realm consolidation, that they can now colocate other developers games. That is impressive.

And why is this relevant in any form? If you don't want friends to see you are online, them delete the friends that you don't want to know you are playing.
I guess because that person feels that feature is more important than other actions. Kind of an odd opinions for them to throw in, sure. Deleting friends isn't the answer for a normal person. For a tactless socially inept person (I know a few IRL but they live very lonely lives because people don't cater to them 100% of the time) it is though but for a person who doesn't want drama and wants a little alone time it's ideal.
But yeah, I'll agree that it doesn't

You seem incredibly angry at that person to the point of being quite rude and tacky. Seems they got the best of you, huh?

Look at their stock. It's gone up considerably since January.
Now their response was equally trashy... it's like you two are bitter enemies or something.

It's not coming. They couldn't implemented it a while back and the odds of them figuring it out any time soon is nil. They let us down and we might as well get over it. They quite simply lack the talent to pull it off at the current time.

No I don't. I simply have basic standards and yes, I can't believe such other people that all they aspire to is to earn money and f*** hookers.

It's so tragic it's not even fit for a joke.

So, I'm sorry if I hurt your little feelings, but I don't care.

    Angry? How come?

Trash be trash. I'm always for the motto live and let live, but this particular instance is such a failure on one's part, I don't even care about going against my life motto.

Don't feel like I need to explain it tbh.

Why does it bother you if that happens? Technically it already is like Origin anyway. I don't play Hots or Hearthstone and it doesn't really affect me in any way that those games are in the launcher.

Also now everything in WoW is zoned, you can't go far in the open world before it zones you into another "instance" of the world. Back in wotlk they had 10 milion+ players without this feature. That with the subscribers loss I agree their server load "resourses spent" is drastically decreased

Oh you can be damn sure there's gonna be mounts and pets in WoW and Diablo and HotS for playing Destiny 2 during some sort of celebratory event, like they did with Diablo's 20th Anniversary or that Flamesaber mount for playing HotS.

While everyone is still complaining about everything they can, I still can't find an answer to my question: Does anyone know if D2 will have access to all the content from D1? Because if not, picking up in the middle of the series going to be stupid.

So why are they bringing the hot garbage that is destiny related onto something Blizzard runs? I mean it directly competes with both WoW and Overwatch, is likely to be an even worse grind than both those games and it's predecessor as well as have a crap story that'll need to be to patched up again later. I understand that Activision is publishing it but I'm pretty sure that there was something somewhere said by the Blizzard people that although it is ActiBlizz, they were set up so that their work was separated/unaffected by the others.

Well it doesn't bother me. You're the only person saying that. I am just pointing out RIP Blizzard battle.net and hello Activision.net.

I hope not, its not a blizzard game so i can't see them doing it. But activation clearly has some say here to even get the game on the launcher so who knows what else they might influence.

Wasn't there a gossip about the abandoned Titan game content becoming Destiny? How weird is this was true and destiny 2 appearing in battlenet :P

Why bother buying it, wont even have Dedicated Servers on PC.

Typical Console left over given to PC Gamers.

No dedicated servers, potentially only 10 Hz tickrate, and they outsourced the pc port to a company that only makes nintendo DS games. Suffice to say my expectations are quite low.
