WoW Classic - Warsong Gulch Vendors

  • Warsong Gulch vendors will only sell items from their original list of consumables (and one tabard) for now.
  • Additional items that were added to original WoW in patch 1.6 will become available when Blackwing Lair opens in 2020.

See you in the flag room!

Warsong Gulch
Test your teamwork in this 10v10 capture-the-flag Battleground. The first team to capture three of the opposing team’s flags wins the match and earns Honor toward their PvP ranking.

To join the Battleground, you’ll need to be at least level 10 and visit the Battlemaster in one of the capital cities to queue or, if you’re feeling adventurous, travel to the Battleground in the Northern Barrens (for the Horde) or Ashenvale (for the Alliance).

You’ll be matched up with other players within a specific level bracket as follows:

  • 10–19
  • 20–29
  • 30–39
  • 40–49
  • 50–59
  • 60

Alterac Valley
Step into Alterac Valley and prepare to engage in a battle for every square meter across this Battleground. You’ll need to coordinate with your team in a 40v40 grudge match to see who will come out on top.

To queue for this Battleground, you’ll need to be at least level 51 at the Battlemasters within the capital cities or head out into Alterac Mountains to queue up there.

You and your team will need to coordinate to complete PvE and PvP objectives to win. You’ll control key locations such as mines, towers, and graveyards, which will help you push further into the map toward the main objective—the opposite faction’s general—Vanndar Stormpike for the Alliance or Drek’Thar for the Horde. You can make this task easier for you and your team by destroying enemy towers and killing the elites guarding the generals.

You’ll also be able to turn in resources that can be looted from mobs and players that can be turned in to gain additional bonuses and aid to your side’s cause of crushing the enemy.

Earning reputation within this Battleground for the Stormpike Guard of the Alliance or Frostwolf Clan for the Horde will open up access to new rewards. You can also gain additional reputation by undertaking a variety of quests within the Battleground.

WoW Classic 1.13.3 Patch Notes

World of Warcraft Classic Version 1.13.3

Battlegrounds
The fields of battle are open, and the Alliance and Horde are set to clash over Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley.

Warsong Gulch is a 10v10 game of capture-the-flag, with each faction attempting to carry their opponents’ flag all the way back to their own base, while preventing the opposition from doing the same. Players fight in level-ranges in Warsong Gulch: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and level 60.

Alterac Valley is a large 40v40 tug-of-war zone, with many quests, objectives, and areas of interest. All players at level 51 and higher are placed into a single level-range in this epic struggle, with rewards via reputation as well as quest rewards. Some Alterac Valley rewards are highly sought, such as Don Julio’s Band, Lei of the Lifegiver, and Ice Threaded Arrows/Bullets.

The Alliance entrance to Warsong Gulch is in Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale Forest, and the Horde entrance is near Mor’shan Base Camp in the northern Barrens. The Alliance and Horde entrances to Alterac Valley are in northern Hillsbrad Foothills. Both Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley can also be entered by speaking with the appropriate battlemaster in your capital city.

Battlegrounds are cross-realm, which means you’ll fight alongside allies and against opponents from all of the realms in your region.

Elemental Invasions
Across Kalimdor, Blazing, Thundering, Watery, and Whirling Invaders now occasionally appear in Un’goro Crater, Azshara, Winterspring, and Silithus respectively. The elementals appear to be seeing just how far into these territories they can penetrate before being beaten back by the forces of the Horde or the Alliance.

Keyring
The key button in your micro menu now opens your Keyring, an additional bag for keys only, that scales up to hold 32 keys.

Additional Updates
  • The lua API has been modified to prevent some addons from using communications channels in ways that are contrary to the spirit of the game.
  • This patch includes client support for the Paid Character Transfer service, which may be enabled at a future date.
  • The World of Warcraft Classic executable file on your PC has been renamed.
  • Bug fixes.

Addons will still be able to communicate using PARTY, RAID, GUILD, and WHISPER in the same ways that they can now. Additionally, we are going to test a change to permit C_ChatInfo.SendAddonMessage to be called with SAY and YELL, allowing your addons to communicate with players in your immediate vicinity.

We support using addons to customize your gameplay experience. However, we also want to ensure that we preserve the social dynamics that make Classic what it is. Ultimately, we decided that the ability for addons to send invisible messages to large, arbitrary groups of players all across Azeroth was something that risked undermining those social dynamics.

Thank you!

Recruit A Friend - How To Recruit Yourself for Rewards
The new Recruit A Friend system is now live and brings new rewards, including two mounts, one pet, a transmog set with a rucksack and more! In this guide we're going to show you how to unlock all of these rewards by recruiting yourself.

If you want to get all the rewards then this month is the perfect time to do that, as new accounts can get a 50% discount on their first World of Warcraft subscription.

How To Recruit Yourself

To get all the 12 rewards from the new Recruit A Friend system, you will first need three active game accounts (World of Warcraft accounts) on your main Blizzard account.

You will use these three accounts to recruit several new Blizzard accounts and then purchase one month of game time on each of them via subscription.

Step By Step Guide

If you can create two World of Warcraft starter accounts on your main Blizzard account then follow this guide. If you cannot create any starter accounts on your main Blizzard account then you'll have to use a slight variation of this guide, which you can find below this one.

Step 1. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#1 account (which is on your main Blizzard account). Use this link to recruit two World of Warcraft accounts on the same Blizzard account. These accounts are basically your RAF1 and RAF2 accounts, however, for clarity, we're going to refer to them as WoW#2 and WoW#3.

Step 2. Purchase one month of game time on your WoW#2 and WoW#3 accounts (which are on your main Blizzard account).

Step 3. Create 10 email accounts and name them something like "YourNameRAFNumber@email.com". Throughout this guide we're going to refer to these emails as RAF3, RAF4, … RAF12.

Step 4. Use the invite link from WoW#1 to recruit RAF3 and RAF4.

You will have to create two new Blizzard accounts and purchase one month of game time on them via subscription. Since these accounts are new, you can use the New Player Offer to save 50% on the first month. This will cost you $7.5/€6.5 per account.

Step 5. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#2 account (your main Blizzard account) and use that link to recruit RAF5, RAF6, RAF7 and RAF8.

Once again, you will have to create four new Blizzard accounts and purchase one month of game time on them via subscription. Since these accounts are new, you can use the New Player Offer to save 50% on the first month. This will cost you $7.5/€6.5 per account.

Step 6. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#3 account (your main Blizzard account) and use that link to recruit RAF9, RAF10, RAF11 and RAF12.

Once again, you will have to create four new Blizzard accounts and purchase one month of game time on them via subscription. Since these accounts are new, you can use the New Player Offer to save 50% on the first month. This will cost you $7.5/€6.5 per account.

The total amount of money you're going to spend with this method is $105/€91. You will get all the Recruit A Friend rewards.

If You Cannot Create New Accounts

If you cannot create any starter accounts on your main Blizzard account then follow this guide.

Step 1. Purchase one month of game time on your WoW#2 and WoW#3 accounts (which are on your main Blizzard account).

Step 2. Create 12 email accounts and name them something like "YourNameRAFNumber@email.com" to easily keep track of these emails. Throughout this short guide we're going to refer to these emails as RAF1, RAF2, … RAF12.

Step 3. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#1 account (your main Blizzard account) and use that link to recruit RAF1, RAF2, RAF3 and RAF4.

Step 4. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#2 account (your main Blizzard account) and use that link to recruit RAF5, RAF6, RAF7 and RAF8.

Step 5. Generate a Recruit-A-Friend invite link on your WoW#3 account (your main Blizzard account) and use that link to recruit RAF9, RAF10, RAF11 and RAF12.

Step 6. Purchase one month of game time on the 12 Recruit A Friend accounts via subscription. Since these accounts are new, you can use the New Player Offer to save 50% on the first month.

If you have to use this method, please note that you will pay an additional $15/€13 for game time on the last two Recruit A Friend accounts. That being said, the offer is still good, as you will get all the Recruit A Friend rewards at a great price!

Payments & Rewards Info

  • Please note that when you subscribe, the full amount of money will be put on hold on your card. Do not worry, as that is normal. After the transaction goes through, the amount of money shown on the transaction will be updated, and you will be charged for the discounted amount.
  • It can take up to three days to receive the rewards. In most cases, you will receive the rewards within minutes. However, they will only show up after you have logged in and out of the accounts.
  • If you don't intend to play on the recruited accounts after the first month of game time has passed, don't forget to cancel your subscription and/or remove your payment methods.
  • For more info about the Recruit A Friend system, eligibility, invitation process, rewards, restrictions and limitations please check this Support Article or the Recruit A Friend Page on the official website.

WoW Classic and Honor system - A Message from the Dev Team

As we mentioned before, our data repair job on Monday caused the “This week” totals to display an inflated value for the rest of the day, and that appears to explain a lot of the confusion we’ve seen so far.

We also know that some players confuse “estimated honor” with actual honor (estimates don’t account for diminishing returns), or confuse honor with rank (honor is earned from kills, rank is based on your relative standing within your faction). The honor system is slow to progress you through the ranks, even in the best case, so many of these reports aren’t a case of the honor going “missing” as much as they’re a case of an unforgiving system giving you less progress toward a rank than you were expecting.

In addition to being based on your relative standing within your faction, your progress to the next rank also slows down as you reach higher ranks. Achieving the same standing each week won’t award the same amount of progress toward each rank, it awards a fixed percentage of the delta between your current rank, and your current standing. It is actually impossible to achieve rank 14 in less than 12 weeks, and that assumes that you’re the top player on your faction for every one of those 12 weeks.

Those are all intentional behaviors, and are not bugs, but they can all contribute to a feeling of difficulty progressing through the ranks.

We also see reports of missing kills when you’re playing during the daily reset job, and we’ve checked that too. In fact, I just checked right now, on some of the people who reported errors in this thread, and last night’s job did calculate their honor correctly. Those kills are still there, its just a display issue, and they’ll show up on the next day’s daily report now that the underlying issue is fixed.

We are continuing to investigate, but at this time we don’t see any problems in the week 3 data. Once we conclude this investigation we can move on to investigating the problems that occurred during week 1 and 2, and we’re beginning to do that now.

Thank you again for your patience as we work through these issues."
