Secrets of Azeroth Day 5 - A Chilling Ascent
Here is the solution to day 5:

  • Speak to Bobby Carlisle, sitting at the bar in the Valdrakken Inn. He will provide you with The Clerk's Notes.
  • The note directs you to the tower of Vakthros in the fast eastern section of the Azure Span. The quickest way there is to use an ancient waygate to get right to it.
  • Use your Tricked-Out Thinking Cap toy in front of the door to the large tower - /way #2024 78 32.
  • Head to the right of the tower to a pylon just past some ice shards. If you use your Torch of Pyrreth toy near it, a large tablet should be resting against the southern side of it - /way 78.9 32.4.
    • Note - The tablet is a bit buggy at the moment. It will despawn and respawn after a few minutes, so you might need to wait a bit before seeing it.
  • Click and interact with the tablet to receive the Unveiled Tablet Rubbing. This will give you the A Knowledgable Descent quest.
  • Return to Bobby Carlisle at the Valdrakken Inn and turn in the quest to complete the A Chilling Ascent portion of the Whodunnit? Achievement.

Secrets of Azeroth Day 4 - Torch of Pyrreth
Here is the solution to day 4:

  • Talk to Tithris, the Valdrakken Inn bartender. They will provide you with the Preservationist's Dispatch. The clue will direct you to the Life-Binder Conservatory in the Waking Shores.
  • Life-Binder Conservatory is in the northern section of the Waking Shores. The goal is to find three Ancient Levers around the area.
    • Southeastern building on the back right - /way #2022 57.0 25.5
    • Eastern tower in the back - /way #2022 57.7 23.8
    • Northeastern building on the right side - /way #2022 56.6 20.3
  • Once all three are activated, it will make the Torch of Pyrreth interactable in the dilapidated inn in the Northwest. You can find it in the fireplace in the back of the first floor. It will be slightly behind a wall and on the left - /way #2022 54.63 20.38. Looting it starts the quest Artifact Secured.




  • Return to the inn in Valdrakken and turn in the quest at Preservationist Kathos. You will receive the Torch of Pyrreth toy.
  • Kathos will also give you The Torch of Pyrreth quest. It sends you to the Ruby Enclave. Activate the Torch of Pyrreth toy to see hidden objects and search the southern building at the Ruby Enclave to have it reveal a chest on the left side. Loot it for Kathos' Field Glasses.
    • Left side of the southern building at Ruby Enclave - /way #2112 58.2 23.5
  • Return to Kathos and turn in the quest to finish the Torch of Pyrreth portion of the Whodunnit? Achievement.

To help you continue your journey, players will get the benefit of the Joyous Journeys experience buff*, which will increase experience gains by 50% for all players through level 80! It’s a great time to finish leveling a character, create a new one, or invite friends to join you in your adventures.

Players can also visit any innkeeper in the capital cities and Dalaran to turn the experience buff off or on. The Joyous Journey’s experience buff will be available during the Ice Crown Citadel content update and until further notice.

*Experience buff not available in modern World of Warcraft® or World of Warcraft® Classic Era.

Secrets of Azeroth Day 2 - Thinking Cap
Here is the solution to day 2:

Clue 3 - A Thinking Cap
  • Speak to Bobby Carlisle, sitting at the bar in the Valdrakken Inn. He will give you the Thinking Cap Notes. This acts as a shopping list of three items to find to make the Thinking Cap.
    • Tought Calculating Apparatus - Talk to Erugosa (the cooking trainer in the Valdrakken Inn) and tell her you want to make Thunderspine Nest. She will provide you with a list of ingredients to collect. You need to make 10 of these.
    • You can choose whether to collect the ingredients manually. However, you can purchase either the 5x Thunderspine Nest outright or the ingredients at the auction house if you want to save time. Skip collecting the next three ingredients if you choose this path.
      • Purchase 5x Apexis Asiago from Gorgonzormu in Valdrakken (29.2, 65.2 in Artisan's Market of Valdrakken)
      • Purchase 5x Thunderspine Tenders from Agurahl the Butcher. (81.5, 23.4 at Timberstep Output in Ohn'ahran Plans)
      • Purchase 5x Latticed Stinkhorn from Sniktak. (54.1, 56.6 in Loamm)
    • With 10x Thunderspine Nest, speak with the Engineering trainer Clinkyclick Shatterbottom (around 46, 46) in Valdrakken. She will give you the Thought Calculating Apparatus if you ask her about the Thinking Cap and provide the 5x Thunderspine Nest.
  • Downy Helmet Liner - Loot a Fresh Tyranha from a Hungering Tyranha. These enemies are located in southern Valdrakken waters around 46, 93.
    • Talk to Gryffin (the engineering trainer's Gryphon assistant at the same location as Clinkyclick) to receive the Downy Helmet Liner.
  • Crystal Ocular Lenses - Talk to the Valdrakken Jewelcrafting trainer Shakey Flatlap at 39, 62. You can flat-out pay him 1,000 gold to get the item or settle his bar tab at the secret inn in Valdrakken for 346 gold instead. To do this, head to the Valdrakken Inn and /bow at the statue in the back. Then, talk to the barkeep at the back and pay the tab. Return to him for the item.

  • With Thought Calculating Apparatus, Downy Helmet Liner, and Crystal Ocular Lens in your inventory, click the Thought Calculating Apparatus to create the Unfinished Thinking Cap. When you do this, you will automatically get a quest of the same name.
  • The quest will direct you to Fangil Hoot next to the Barber Shop (27, 54). Talk to her to receive the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap toy.
  • Learn and use the toy before talking to Fangil again. She will send you on a scavenger hunt quest titled Tricked Out Thinking Cap, where you must find arrows to reach a prize.
    1. Above Fangil's head on the left wall (/way 26.6, 53.9)
    2. Right side of Little Scales Daycare on the bottom of a bookshelf (/way 10, 56.5)
    3. Floor of the Skinning Shop in Artisan's Mettle (/way 29.2, 62.7)
    4. Top of a barrel on the right side of the Jewelcrafting station (/way 40, 64.5)
    5. Below the Alchemy Station (/way 36.2, 71.2)
    6. On the roof of the Auction House above the entrance door (/way 44.2, 58.4)
    7. To the right of the Obsidian Guardian just outside the Blacksmith building (/way 38, 49.2)
    8. On the left side of the entrance to the lower areas of the Seat of the Aspects by the brazier (/way 55.2, 43.3)
    9. On a cliff next to a waterfall by the Emerald Enclave. This is where the treasure is as well (/way 64.6, 53.7)
  • Return to Fangil to turn in the quest and complete the Thinking Cap portion of the Whodunnit step of the achievement.




Secrets of Azeroth Day 3 - An Inside Job?
Here is the solution to day 3:

Clue 4 - An Inside Job?
  • Talk to Bobby Carlisle sitting at the bar in the Valdrakken Inn. He will give you the An Inside Job? quest.
  • Return to Fangil Hoot at 26.6, 54.3 in Valdrakken. She will give you Fangil's Note and Copied Artifact Storage Key.
  • Return to the Valdrakken Inn and head up the ramp to the right of the entrance to get to the second floor. Loot the Preservationist's Locker behind the bed on the left side when you reach the top. You will receive the Maruuk Burial Banner.
  • Talk to "Appraiser" Sazsel Stickyfingers inside the building at 62.7, 73 in the Emerald Enclave of Valdrakken. This will activate a new quest called Preservationist Cleared.
  • Return to the inn's second floor and put the banner back into the locker, completing the quest.
  • Return to Fangil to complete the An Inside Job? step of the Whodunnit? Achievement.
