Thread: Lich King Encounter - BEAMS

I came across a few spells on Wowhead that appear to be "beams" that channel into Arthas, based on the descriptions. Based on the spell ID's, they'll likely be used in the Lich King encounter. Assuming these aren't different buffs Arthas has, I'm going to speculate that there will be four buttons to click on, each with a different color and effect.

Green Beam - Channels the Unholy force into Arthas. http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=72589
Black Beam - Channels the Death force into Arthas: http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=72735

Using the right color at the right time will probably weaken Arthas, and clicking the wrong one will buff him, piss him off, or wipe the raid. Thus, knowing when to hit the right color may be the key to beating the encounter.

Based on this information, I have created a simple yet informative thought model to illustrate what I think this encounter will look like:

That's cool! I think the red beam's probably going to end up being Blood though, not Unholy...

These beams should fire randomly through the fight area, players should have to kite arthas between them while also staying in the safe spots which should be mere pixels wide.

Lol fable 2 ending, that was the first thing that popped into my mind when I read the op's post :x...

Good digging, at least we know it isnt just a maly style with falling floor and what not. Actual mechanics always make a fight good.

Sounds like a fun fight, and as said above me that it will most likely be Blood Force instead of 2 Unholy. Could be a fun fight if they do it well and keep it original, which im fairy sure they will. And nice picture, it seems as though based off it that practically anyone can kill the lich king :P

If anyone played WC3 FT, they would remember the obelisks needed to get to the throne. Could be related.

I lol'd at the picture. And was intrigued by the abilities.

I forgot about that! But weren't the obelisks outside the throne in Icecrown? I was thinking maybe the four colors were related to the four "arches" around the throne area, which are seen in some of the screenshots.
