Zombie Plague - End !The zombie plague will end around noon PST, the Karazhan boss and the scourge invasion will be here for a few more days. The WotLK prologue is not over. We'd like to thank players for participating so zealously (and valiantly!) during the Great Zombie Plague of '08. Our intention with this event was to create something memorable and to literally change the face of Azeroth for a few days. This event is just one of many leading up to Wrath of the Lich King. As you know, the Scourge Invasion is now live as well and there is some other cool stuff coming up before all is said and done. Also, Hallow's End continues on! While we recognize that the event could prove to be disruptive at times, we hope you made the most out of it while it lasted. Part of playing in a "living and breathing world" means that things are going to change from time to time. We meant no harm but only wanted to create a lasting impression on players as they head to Northrend to defeat the Lich King. The Lich King's goals (as you will soon learn) are to turn the Horde and Alliance not only on one another, but on their own kind as well. I think the plague truly demonstrated this firsthand. So it looks like a cure has finally been found… for now. Thank you for participating in our most memorable event to date… for better or for…. brrrrrrraaaaaains… Couple of other important notes: - The scourge invasion will continue for a few more days.
- The prologue event is not over! More to come!!
- The Karazhan boss will be up for approximately another week still
- We increased the respawn rate of the Necropoli
- Zombie cure should kick in by around noon PST

Q: What’s Deathwing’s current relationship with the Old Gods? A: In facebook terms, I'd list it as "It's Complicated". "Single" or "Married" are probably too extreme in this case.
Q: Will Alliance ever get an ingame band like the Hordes L80ETC? A: Sure, if somebody knows of an awesome Alliance band...
Q: When do hunters get to tame druids? A: Right after druids get a hunter form.

Good to see it'll be back to normal without having to put up with idiots infecting every NPC within 50 miles. I do enjoy world events, but i'm glad the zombie one is over, but i'm also glad there's more, player-friendly parts, to come with regards to the run up to Wrath.
"Well well, the bloody whiners got their wish after all. Typical.
And what have we learned from this? QQ works. Damn."
No, the event was due to end. It's NOTHING to do with whiners. Learn about world events before making such idiotic comments.

I also get the feeling the "cure" is comming down earlier than planned. Zombies were ok, but it got taken to a total extreame with entire capitals being taken over and entire low level quest hubs being taken over... Disrupt is one way to put it, but it basicly paralized the game. I'm not whining, I am just stating facts. On my server, which is less populated than some we basicly couldn't do squat. Shatt was a total mess. Ironforge and SW were total ghost towns. Most of my toons are hiding in Light's Hope, the Exodar, or the ally town in SMV. It was fun having a player driven event, but it was also bad from the stand point of some players doing stuff I would have to call bad player conduct. Stuff like taking over lowbie areas when you're a 70 and stuff like that. Stuff like this is fun when you can fight back. U can't fight back against someone 30 levels higher than you, it's just that simple. OK, this is a book, and I know people are gonna blast me for it. But I am just trying to get someone to agree to my PoV that the game is most fun when people conduct themselves with some self restraint and don't act like a bunch of toddlers with flame throwers... (OOooooo...pretty fire, i like pretty fire!)

Reason for Plague End is not players' QQ and whine. I've enjoyed killing zombies and playing as zombie, but when I'd killed someone, I'd got offensive words by whispers from killed players

(OOooooo...pretty fire, i like pretty fire!) I'm hoping they have learned to better protect newb areas for the future. I tried creating an alt and...yeah, I picked a poor time, clearly. I can't imagine how much it must have sucked for people just starting the game for the first time.

While it may have been poor player conduct the whole point of it (lore-wise) was to show how powerful the Lich King has become and to show that we could be turned against eachother, there wouldn't be much point in an infection if it doesn't infect anyone. I actually really enjoyed it but I'm anxious to see what else is going to happen.

Pfft, this event had far from reached it's climax yet and you know it. No doubt Blizz ended it early to shut the whiners up.

Yea it's abrupt end no doubt has to be partly due to the complaints from people fustrated by being a zombie. Yet people should exercise common sense more and not AFK in high zombie activity areas. We'll here's hoping to something even more fun then a Zombie invasion...
