Nice setup. Saw you already abandoned expertise but any plans to pick up more mastery since the patch?

Gearing up for raiding as a tank myself. Have pretty much abandoned exp and hit until threat actually becomes a problem.

Replace your orange gems in your legs, boots, and belt with pure strs, the socket bonus' aren't worth it. Other than that, pretty much top notch..maybe try to squeeze some more mastery out?

i dunno what to say about your expertise, most theorycrafters now claim that the 26exp cap is needed, whereas playing below it i've still been competitive when i've dpsed, about from that, all good!

Everything looks to be in good order with your DK, Gems, Reforging, Spec, and Glyphs.. Really, the only thing you could improve on are the Maelstrom enchants for your pieces, though that's going the extra mile, and then some.. :P


My Dk.. (Ignore the Gem in my waist, I was in the raid and was cutting a few gems between bosses, cut Reckless instead of Fierce lol)
[Also, The AMS/AMZ thing is for fights with AoE damage (Halfus last night with Whelps and Time-Warden for example]

Oh, I quite agree, but we've only had 2 Akirius' drop, and they were before the patch, so naturally I gave them to our Frost 2H Dk, and our Blood Tank, since Mastery / Expertise were amazing for both of them, and sub-optimal for me.

With the new mastery and expertise changes with the patch, I will definitely be taking the next mace that drops.

And the trinket, alas, has yet to drop.

Personally, spec-wise, I'd take the two from Blade Barrier, and put 1 into Runic Power Mastery, and 1 into Magic Suppression.

Your Glyphs look fine.

Helmet - Get the Reverberating Shadowspirit Diamond
Shoulders - Stronger Enchant
Cloak - Critical Strike Enchant
Chest - Stats Enchant
Bracers - Haste Enchant
Gloves - Strength Enchant


Gear-wise, all I can suggest, is trying to get MORE gear with Passive-Hit Rating, so you can do less reforging for it.

Looks good, but I'm not really that good at rating tanks. Although I might suggest using Rune of Swordshattering. Heard that 4% parry is better than the SG rune nowadays. Oh, and I can't see you hit for some reason, but I guess that's in order (if you can think ).

k so

1. your at 8.33% hit rating, take out the str/hit gem on your head piece and slap on a str one
2. your reforging is alittle funky, you removed haste in a reforge but then added haste in another, alittle counter productive =p
3. you dont NEED to be at the 26 expertise rating, so gemming or enchanting (on the bracers) is a dps loss
4. for your spec, since your frost, i would advise going 3 into virulance, since rim will most likely keep your frost fever up, you will be able to use plaque strike accordingly

Bracers are going to have +50 dodge on. When i got exalted there were no scrolls on the AH and no enchanters online. Would that boost me to 9/10?
