So....just wondering what peoples thoughts on this are? Would it be something worth getting?
Also why make a dual gpu card out of a previous gen mid grade card?

they want to create a competition for the hd 5970's performance crown . And if I had to guess, the performance will be about the same, but the price will be significantly lower.
Yes, and i fear the support overall will be weak aswell. Hence i find gimmick cards pointless.

They're developing the GTX590 for that. Which is ironic, because they already had a stab at it. And now with the HD6990 they're even further away from it.
Don't know about the 460 but I just bought a EVGA GeForce GTX 470 SuperClocked edition, and its absolutely amazing, and with only 30$ more than the 460 I would go for the 470 if I was you!
EDIT: Never mind I just noticed you were talking about the new 460 with 2 gpu's.. Sorry ! But I'd rather go for a single gpu card, the way 2 gpu's video card works is they split memory between the 2 GPU's ( I had a 9800 GX2) and my GPU's only had 512mb each, wich I think sucks, I would go sli with single core GPU's of juste one card, but more powerfull.

Actually I got the fact it won't support sli from a evga mod on the evga forums Post #21

This card isn't just a 460 it has 2 460 gpus on one card. So this card is probably going to be price at around 400$
Edit: A link to some info on the card

Rather SLI two GTX 460 than going for this gimmick. Concern here is support in the long run. If the internal SLI on the card differs even slightly compared to "real" SLI, EVGA might end up having to make special drivers, and keeping them up to date with new games and optimisations might not happen.
Then again it could all go just fine, but meh.. wouldn't want to risk it.
GF100 based cards (465, 470, 480) have pretty much been discontinued and are listed by Nvidia as "previous generation". The reference coolers on GF100 cards were noisy and it was hard to keep the temperatures and power consumption on reasonable levels. Rather you go for a 460, 560, 570 or 580 when it comes to team green, shouldn't you find a 470 for an awesome price.
This really made me chuckle...Experience a whole new level of interactive gaming and combine up to three displays off a single card for the ultimate in 3D entertainment, or disable Surround and combine up to four displays for maximum productivity.
I'll wait for the 6870 X2 if that's the case =P Maybe I'll be able to get 8 monitors instead of five off one card...
Edit: Minus big time for serious lack of Display Port

glaxasy gtx 460 1gb sli
The sun has set on this mortal world fools make peace with your end for the hour of twilight falls!
The only thing that would have made the card even remotely worthwhile would have been the prospect of SLi... but since it can't SLi it's just an overpriced pair of GTX 460s lol..

Figured I'd post this here for ANYONE who decides to purchase this. It has come to the attention of many customers that the EVGA GTX 460 2Win will not operate on a NON-SLi board. This means that AMD boards will result in you only getting half the card operable lol
