one last thing before i head to bed. why did your avatar get removed ciniplex? wasn't it just an arm waving a white towel? or am i thinking of someone else? if it was, why on earth would that be a violation of the avatar guidelines?

I guess I'll have to take up the mantle of rabid incoherent fanboi now.

In recent news, Blizzard announced that they are delaying firelands raid to add a heroic only boss called 'Ryan Kesler'. While he spawns adds, (notably, twin dragons that can be nullified quite easily), no current strategies have been found that can defeat him. Even developers are stumped as to how raids might down the epic beast, and have suggested bringing back the 40 man raid structure just so guilds might have a chance.

Oh....and this just in...Paragon has just downed heroic DATSYUK, but there is already calls on the forums by Marcello alleging they used an exploit and shouldn't be credited with the kill.

    Ghostcrawler replied only with 'QQmoar'

He had the towel waving in his signature, as well as a fairly large quote. Violated size restrictions, I'm assuming.

yep we sure have, and not all detroit fans are butthurt, its only really mercelos, while irony is really doing a great job being civil while sending us our congrats. although with prior postings i thought for sure it would of been irony in mercelos' position. eh, i've been wrong before.

    anyways good night.

You forgot the more annoying add, Burrows. Often causes random players to target him, giving them a Penalty debuff.

    Prediction for the Conference Finals:
    Sharks in 6
    Lightning in 6

I think today's game is a huge huge turning point for the Sharks. While they might not have shaken the choke label in the eyes of fans around the league, they certainly must have shaken it in their own eyes. Detroit took them to the absolute edge of being labeled as the worst playoff squad in history. They lose that game, heads are going to roll. Thornton would almost certainly give up the C, who knows if McClellan would still be there (although god knows he should be as he is an amazing coach). The Sharks have likely erased that label and fear in their own eyes. No longer can they be assaulted by accusations of weak playoff goaltending from Nabokov, although he was never really bad at all, as Niemi won this series for them. I think they are going to carry a tremendous amount of momentum into the next round. Vancouver certainly isn't a team you take lightly, but I still don't trust the Sedins. The Sharks have so many more weapons than the Preds did. They will be able to take advantage of the awful defensive play by the twins. Either way, Niemi and Luongo are going to have a lot of work to do in this series.

As for Tampa and Boston, call me a homer, but I loves me some Lightning. I called their first Cup win in 04. I really didn't expect them to compete on this level until next season, but since they are here, why the hell not. Their play style is absolutely great and completely befuddling to most teams in this version of the NHL. It is like the 90's Devils, but faster and more offensively lethal rather than physically intimidating like the Stevens' Devils were. I don't trust the discipline of the Bruins. I really think the Lightning are going to get power play opportunities and their PP is ridiculously lethal. Boston's PP is awful and Tampa has looked by far the best penalty killing team in the playoffs with their defensive style, quick skaters, and great puck pressure in the defensive zone.

What I do trust about Boston is Tim Thomas. I think the Bruins could end up having a huge advantage between the pipes. Roloson has been great this post season and throughout his career in the postseason, but at 41 I don't think he can be depended on to win games for the Lightning in the same way that the Bruins will rely on Thomas at some point in this series. If Boston can keep themselves out of the box and find a way to improve their own power play, they will win this series. The Lightning will absolutely brutalize them if they play irresponsibly though. If Berg is back for the B's it will help, but the Lightning even with Bergeron playing have a huge advantage over the Bruins as far as the forwards are concerned.

And the Lightning are so for real, that Disney rescheduled Toy Story on Ice so it didn't interfere with the series.

I'm hoping that tomorrow this thread doesn't become as dirty as it was yesterday. Things get nasty when there isn't a game on.

@conscript; I've had pretty fun experiences with a couple Red Wings fan recently when I was on a cruise before and and during the start of the series. I was walking around and saw a guy wearing a BRAND NEW SHARKS hat, me wearing my Sharks hat and shirt went up to him and just jokingly said NICE HAT! He ignored me but the woman with him said to him that I was talking to him. His reply? "Eh, they're not my team." My next thought is then why is he wearing the hat? Then he says it. "RED WINGS ARE GONNA KICK THEIR ASS." This was before game 1. Then later I had some waiter in the casino come up to me the day of the game and told me the Sharks playoffs route is at an end and the Red Wings will win, and he LOOOOVES Zetterberg.

It shouldn't. Datsyuk is out of the playoffs and Kesler is still playing so hopefully that argument is dead for now. They essentially tied for amazingness in the first two rounds. Any argument going forward is a moot point as only one of them can back up their hype on the ice.

After you've won, it's always fun saying "Told you so" to the non-believers, especially the ones who were vehement that you would lose. I definitely had that feeling after the Van-Chi series. Something tells me one of us will be eating his words after this series (it will be you).

Ya anime, Red Wing fans are a plague and have both good and bad versions. We have probably the most bandwagon fans of any franchise in sports and it tends to erode the population that grew up with the Wings. Success breeds contempt, but it also breeds a tremendous amount of douche bags. I hope it is the Sharks time to start doing some of the bandwagon douchebag gathering.

How about we are both ruled the winners just because of kesler being involved in the series, and that Tampa Bay doesn't deserve to go because they play in a non-hockey state (I do live in FL and the amount of hockey stuff for sale ANYWHERE is horrible). Also that Boston just doesn't really deserve it at the moment.

  17. #2577
@conscript; You probably didn't see it but on the Sharks FB page SOOOO many people were saying DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON GAME 7 DETROIT IS GONNA WIN! Q_Q And there I was just saying bandwagon jumpers should get off because they were weighing the team down.

Not to good with my knowledge of the Sharks roster here. Boyle/Murray match up against the Sedins... Who has Kesler?

Hamhuis/Bieksa against the Thornton/Marleau line with Edler/Salo against Clowe
I remember it all too well

What sports gear do they sell in Florida? I imagine they sell plenty of Heat stuff right now because of their rebirth. I'm sure they sell Bucs and Fins gear just because it is the NFL even though somehow those teams don't sell out games. Certainly they don't sell baseball gear though as no one goes to Marlins or D-Rays games. Maybe the Panthers will get good again and the state will go crazy for hockey gear and plastic rats again. But then again, that would require the Panthers to get a new owner or an owner who will fire the GM and stop firing a coach every 2/3rds of the season even though clearly they have no on ice talent.

Usually the team with the most band wagon fan is whatever Canadian team has the best season. Then Red Wings

You can tell WoW changed the MMO for good when players started complaining about the amount of time they sink, into a time sink.
