Kinda sure that you're in a similar situation as I am, except that I don't really work out.
    I'm about 187cm tall, weigh in at 63kg. [6 foot 2 inches, 139 pounds]

Can eat what I want, whenever I want, still won't gain weight. Only way to actually manage to gain weight would, at least that's what I've been told, to consume about 4000 kilocalories per day and stay still most of the time.
Unfortunately, I just am not hungry enough to take in more than 3000 kilocalories a day and I really dislike doing nothing. Really, really dislike that. Can't even just sit there and listen to music, or watch a long game sequence that I already know, always start up Freecell when that happens.

So yeah, bottom line: Eat a LOT. Try to choose healthy stuff, but EAT.

Eat a lot, and eat often. Working out and eating can fight with each other pretty bad. There is a time where you'll hit a "deadzone" where it seems you're not gaining any weight, losing weight, or muscle. Reality is that it's just hitting the transfer point of losing one and gaining the other. Keep at it, maybe increase your workout routine. But as Voij said, keep your eating healthy.

To gain weight you need eat more calories than you are burning during your work out.

First of all don't work out every day. 1 hour 3 times a week is better. You need at least 1 day to rest when you do weight training to get more muscle.
And do a 10 minute warmup and 10 minutes cooling down with some cardio and not a lot more.

There are also weight gaining shakes out there I think. Maybe that helps? Also use protein shakes twice a day or maybe even more in your case. The best time to drink them is after you work out or before you go to bed.
Besides that you just have to eat a lot and build up muscle if you want to gain weight. Just don't work out everyday it will just burn all the protein and your muscles don't have a chance to rest.

Hey, I had the same issue as u have awhile back. 187cm and 62-64kgs. The MAIN issue most skinny ppl got is this. They play a game and starting to get hungry, and they keep on playing and suddently ur body have to take nutrision from ur body and u don't feel hungry anymore. Thats rly bad, what u need to do is this. NEVER EVER go hungry, u should start eating 5-6 meals aday and eat untill u are about to puke (not joking):P. Just keep on doing that and you will gain alot of weight. I added Weight gain shake into my meals wich added 1400 extra calories. so I was eating around 4000-5000 calories aday. Even tho you will gain alot of fat, u should work out as well. But stop working out every day, useless when ur that skinny. You gotta work out 3 times a week and do Big exercises like, Squat, Deadlift, Militarypress, Bench press etc. I started out with this program: stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/ You should talk with a fitness trainer at your gym so he can teach you the propper tecnique for these exercises cuz they are hard if you are a newbie and then u will get inguried, well that comes to every exercise you do. You should allso just check youtube vids how to do the exercises propperly and you should read the program i linked.

I gained 12kg the first month when I started to do this. Ppl tought I was using steroids:P, You need to really focus eating otherwise your fucked. When you play you need to manage to step off your computer to get some food and eat as much as you can.

    GLHF hope this helped=)

    Rhoz...

PS: If you can't access a gym just search for a program you can do at home on youtube there is load

You should watch out taking too much protein shakes cuz you can fuck your kidneys. Same with weight gain shakes shouldn't use em more than for a month, that is 3 times a day then you need to do 1 week with 2times and 1 week with 1time a week then you quit using it so you don't fuck your kidneys=) happens to alot of ppl not using shakes correctly

When you eat just once a day, your body starts conserving and collecting more fat to make sure you won't starve. That's why in p. much any guide to how to lose weight it's told that you should eat many times a day, just in small quantities.

Try this protein called Serious Mass, its a huge 12lb bag, it has 1200 calories, 50g of protein and lots of vitamins/fiber per serving in it for extreme weight gaining. My friend told me about it and i ve gained 15lb in 2 weeks. That's 1lb a day which is amazing. its about $50 for the bag and it ends up being cheaper then the other ones.

My trainer said that to gain muscle you should work out no more than 5 times a week and ideally you should be working out an hour a day 4 days a week. You have to let your muscles rest between workouts. Make sure you are doing exercises that rotate between groups too.

Your problem is that you train everyday, to get more muscles you need to have offdays so your muscles can build up again.
dont train more then 4-5 days a week.

This, give your body some recovery time. Dont train if youre soar as it can cause problems. When working out, your muscles tear and then repair and become stronger/bigger after you have finished and are recovering.
Its something like that, dont quote me on it though.

You should see a specialist, maybe a dietologist

It certainly helped me with a similar situation when I was forced to stop constant basketball training due to an injury and lost too much weight, I dropped to 60kg at some point, and I am 189cm tall, but seeing a specialist really helped and I am back to 87kg now with is pretty much the normal number.

The specialist may give you a diet to follow, or an exercise daily routine or something along those lines. Anyways I hope you get over your problem soon

According to my dietician last year who was trying to stop my weightloss (albeit under different situations) was to add "builders" to stuff, so for example if i was having soup to add full-fat milk/cheese to it & to eat several "75% size" meals a day (4-5) to gradually build it up.

I know the first part probably doesn't apply too well - but i do agree that maybe you should visit a dietician, i know they have shakes/drinks they can hook you up with which make building weight real easy! (i didn't like them too much at the time, but calshake's in strawberry were the fucking NUTS!)

I think all the tips of eating as much as you can are as dangerous as they are helpful. Eating until you are about to puke doesn't seem healthy to me at all. With those kinds of advice I think you really have to watch out that you don't get used to bigger portions and can't go back to normal portions.

I think it's more important WHAT you eat rather than how much you eat. Koodledrum's situation sounds more logical to me.

And also to emphasize what has been said before: visit your doctor or dietist. They will get you going on the right _healthy_ path. That's what those people are there for And I'm sure you have health insurance to back it up :P

take one day, log EVERYTHING you eat. next day, increase your intake by 100cals and keep going. Like some people said here, suddenly increasing it by 500-1000cals will do you more harm than good.

You also want to gain lean mass, a clean bulk, not a dirty bulk.

This...Try it out for a week & see if you've gone up in weight. You could also go to the 1st link in my sig, It will help you find out how many calories a day you need to take a day to gain weight, & you can also factor in your activity level. Ex: Like myself, currently my maintenance is ~2700 calories(including weight training/cardio), so if I wanted to gain weight, I would up it to about 2800-2900 calories to start off. If I'm not seeing any progress, I would up it to about 3200 calories(Should see 1-2 lbs increase a week, wether it be muscle or fat depends on your diet & training). It looks confusing at first, but read thru it a couple times, & you'll be able to figure it out

Im currently cutting, so Im consuming 2100 calories a day.

Pretty much, increase your load until it's more than your TDEE. It may take many weeks to determine your ideal intake. You very likely will not increase your muscle mass by 1 pound a week, but if you eat enough calories...you'll gain weight. The amount of muscle may start out quicker with a good diet and gym work, but it won't be huge. You obviously won't gain 52 pounds of muscle a year, but eating more than you burn, of quality food, is how you 'bulk' up. You're likely blessed (?) with a high metabolism, and may need to eat more than the average bear.

This guy was basically right too, eating once a day won't cause you to go into starvation mode. However...good luck eating 3000 calories in one meal. I'm sure it won't be a good idea. It also isn't likely ideal for muscle growth.

The basis of any weight gain diet should contain nutritious, high calorie foods. From a weight gain perspective proteins and carbohydrates are much needed.Eat five meals a day including a heavy breakfast.Exercise is a big part of weight gain, it ensures that you add muscle and not just fat.I would recommend to include the following items in your diet.

    Grains
    Whole wheat or whole grain
Cereals, breads, rolls, pasta, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal, rice, crackers

    Vegetable
    Starchy vegetable
Corn, peas, potatoes, carrots, beets, squash

    Fruits.
    Bananas, pears, pineapple, raisins, apricots

    Diary products.
Milk, yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, ice cream
