Without giving it too much thought, I'll have to say Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis. His singing really suits their music style, and I just happen to like his voice.

Diablo's Rainer Nygård is a close second, for pretty much the same reasons.

Outside of metal (though not far, Alternative Rock according to wikipedia), I really like the voice of Poets of the Fall's vocalist.

The first two do happen to be among my favorite bands, but they're certainly not the only ones, the singing just happens to play a big part in them (at least to my ear).

Michael Akerfeldt for overall vocals, Phil Bozeman for sheer growls.

In no particular order, and some of these may be considered Rock not metal, or alternative i guess too, but yeah

    Jon Davis of Korn
    Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour
    Aaaron Lewis of Staind
Christopher Hall of Stabbing Westward/The Dreaming (this is my favorite singer of all time..and I've met him!)
    Shawn Morgan of Seether
Brent Smith of Shinedown (2nd all time favorite singer)
    Sully Erna of Godsmack
    David Draiman of Disturbed
    James Hetfield of Metallica

Probably more but those are the main ones, when i hear any song of thiers, i sing along, i know every lyric to like every song, i have in my collection every album, ep and digital song they have ever done, i am an addict of said band list

JR Hayes. Best voice and lyricist in metal for me at the moment.

Mikael Åkerfeldt and Peter Tägtgren. If I had to choose between the two, Mikael.

  19. #19
    John Cooper of Skillet
and Phil Labonte of All That Remains

Jesse Leach! He's Killswitch Engage's old singer, now he does The Empire Shall Fall, and Times of Grace. He's such a good vocalist, and by far my favorite.
