Glad to see illmatic getting some respect. Still blows my mind that nas was only 20 when he put all that down. I haven't been really keeping up with good hiphop the last five years so I'll have to look over this thread and watch some videos, but here are some of my favorites:

Blackstar (Mos Def and Talib Kweli) - Thieves in the Night
"They say money's the root of all evil but I can't tell
Pesos, francs, shems, cowry shells, dollar bills
or is it the mindstate that's ill
    creatin' crime rates to fill
    the new prisons they build.
Over money and religion there's more blood that spills
the wounds of slaves in cotton fields that never heal
    What's the deal?"

"Survival tactics means bustin gats to prove you're hard
Your firearms are too short to box with God"

Nas - NY State of Mind
"I got so many rhymes I don't think I'm too sane/Life is parallel to Hell but I must maintain"
"Inhale deep like the words of my breath/I never sleep cause sleep is the cousin of death"

    Aesop Rock - Daylight
"I'll hang my boots to rest when I'm impressed/So I triple-knot 'em and forgot 'em"
"All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day, put the pieces back together my way"

not sure i would call this REAL hip hop, the beat is boring and they both have no flow whatsoever
    Frostybuds - 85 Undead Mage - Kalecgos
Róòr - 85 Goblin Death Knight - Kalecgos
    Dankovich - 85 Troll Priest - Kalecgos

You know what is better than drinking a beer? Brewing your own beer. And then drinking it. And then... Drinking another beer. And then, punching somebody in the snout! That's what!

Yeah, this track is a horrible example of Jay-Z's talent. Kanye is a God-tier producer but he really should stick to the electronic side of the booth. While it's certainly debatable what is and what is not "Real", I think you're right on with this post.
