This. At least thats how I understood it from that mage's explanation a few weeks ago. When a cast ability is copied it just appears as the same spell cast twice, but when a dot is copied, that is when it shows up as "Wrath of Tarecgosa". The staff definately did alot more than 0.8%.

As far as I understood it:
The Wrath of Tarecgosa-damage in a log is only the copied DoT-damage.

Direct-Damage spells just occur and are complete copies of the spell, and therefore show up in the normal Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst-Damage.

So the "real" damage of the legendary is higher.

Now think of the ratio of Mages to Ele shamans... the staff has the same results between two non-pet classes. (fire ele does not count)

When it copies the mastery proc it would just copy the second spell ID which cannot proc another mastery would be my guess.

LOL why is he reforging spirit into hit like a noob? does he not know spirit=hit? and his gemming is completely wrong, he's obviously a really bad shaman, who can do high damage because of the legendary and tricks, not because he knows what hes doing, cuz he obviously doesn't.
