    Mini-Games

Activities are mini games located in the major cities; each is designed to fit with the unique flavor of that city. They are open to players of all levels, and put veterans and new characters on the same footing. Different activities have different requirements to join. Some are "hot-joinable" and can be joined at any time while others may require queuing to join.
Participation in these activities will have similar rewards to other things to do in the game. Some may unlock rare skins for armor or weapons that are not otherwise available.
There are about 30 activities in game.
    Known activities

    Archery
    Bar brawl
    Keg Brawl
    Shooting gallery
    Smash ‘Em Up
    Snowball fight
An unknown activity that involves shooting mini golems that explode.

I'd like to know more about this! Since I nearly wet myself reading Keg Brawl.

Personally I love the idea of this, if you're bored (highly doubt we'll get bored the first 2 years) or just in for a quick little fun, these will surely satisfy your needs, apart from that it will keep all cities alive, people will do stuff and make area's populated.

So what are your thoughts about the mini-games? A waste of time? Or pretty damn funny?

One of the things that have always drawn me to MMOs, is the variability of the gameplay lets you do what you want at any particular moment.
If you want to pvp you can, or if you want to PVE you can, or quest, or explore, or just hang out and chat etc.

Mini games are right up that alley, so I think they're fantastic

Mini games! Awesome! I know my Sylvari won't be participating in any of the brawls, due to the brutal nature of said games. Though shooting gallery and snowball fights are a sure shot! ^.^ This game is getting more awesome by the minute! Lots and lots of Kudos to Arenanet! *Standing ovasions*

    Couldn't agree more myself.

I would love to see my Asura doing the Keg Brawl (unless only some race can compete in it)

Oh, don't worry: in exchange for smashing a few stools and kegs every now and then I'll try and keep all the bigger monsters away.

    So that would be like.

"Oh my! Bandits are burning down my Bar!"

"No Worries! I will save you!"(Heroic Speech much)

Kill the Bandits and receive reward...

"Thank you, a job well done. My bar is safe!"

*looks at the camera*.. "Or is it?"

    TOTAL BRUTAL WRECKAGE!!!!!!!

More-or-less, yes, though I'd be too wasted to speak that clearly, plus it'd involve flirting with random objects.

My take on it as well. I love the fact that this game will have so much to do, if I have time while exploring that is

I would hug a person to death for a card battle mini game like FF's IX Tetra Master.

Sounds good. The more stuff to do the better.

Thirty minigames is pretty mindblowing. I hope they have a scoreboard like the Challenge missions in GW1, so you can see who has the best record on your server.
    Norn Mesmer: GW2
    Rattataki Sniper: SWTOR
