One particularly bizarr string of rolls resulted in my ranger shooting himself in the ass. At least he narrated it as a bungled shot that ricocheted a couple of times to land there but was still one of those /boggle moments.
Not as bad as the time my Fighter rolled a critical fail on swinging a Mercurial Greatsword and his arms fell off. My DM didn't even explain the logic in it, instead, he forced our cleric to waste a spell on healing me.

no, gw2 makes it so you dont need to be a mathematician to figure it out.

From what I've seen, the nice thing about GW2 is, there's no hit or expertise stat, but if you aren't facing or aiming the right way, your attack, or spell, will miss the target, simply because it was not directed at said target.

Yeah, just wait. Once all the WoW trolls read this they're going to jump in trade chat and say something along the line of "GW2 sucks. It's ez mode cuz NCSoft made stats make sense!"

Well, neither does WoW since it's extremely simple to just check the stats and google for info. It's just incredibly boring and stupid to have something like that at max level when the char should be on top. But, WoW is a game where gear makes the character, not skill/amount of time spent in-game.

Actually it used to. Nowadays we've got real mathematicians playing this game and posting their findings.

WoW does need a fairly advanced understanding of math to Min/ Max properly.

If we're being perfectly honest this doesn't apply to most people. Only the very high-end needs close to perfect min-maxing. At any lower than that you can just do whatever and still succeed.

True, only like 10% of the playerbase consists of active raiders, but now those active raiders don't need to have degrees in mathematics to play the game at their best.
