Welp, I finally got around to working on my rig. Even got pictures, but imgur.com and tinypic.com are both broken for me atm for some reason. :<

With that said, a few kinks I need to work out...
    a) Should I mount the fan facing DOWN? Because the bottom of the case isn't actually filtered, while the sidepanels of the computer is.
    b) Where the heck do I put the pump? e.e

This is all being built in a Raven 01, in case you forgot or something.

I'd face the fan up personally for the superior airflow. Buy a filter later if it bothers you but it shoul work temporarily .

As far as the pump goes, shouldn't you have thougth of that beforehand?:-D

AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core @ 2.60 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 4800 512 Mb PCIe (x2 in SLI)
    8 GB RAM
    Samsung SyncMaster CX931BW
Logitech G15 (the original, wide one )

Runs things nicely, but will probably update GFX this year (replace the x2 SLI to a single card most likely) - any suggestions welcome

Hehe - it's not slow by any means and is running modern games on mostly high settings.

Compared to my previous, ancient PC (Single core, 2 GB RAM & 256 MB GFX) it is the bees knees

But thanks for the tip, seems I needs to look into things for when I do upgrade.

It's still your weakest link, and you will see slim, if any, upgrade in Wow by replacing your 4800 card but leaving your four-digit Phenom.

My old Antec Sonata looked just awesome Too bad it was lacking in the other departments. Top mounted PSU and non-exsistant cable management to name few Would have loved to keep it otherwise.

Well, I'm not so sure the airflow's really superior, but.

It's not that I haven't thought about it, but I changed plans for mounting the rads. Now the space where I initially thought to place the pump is occupied... :P

Don't play WoW anymore, but really that's my weakest link?

I'm quite surprised but thanks for the info - could you explain why or offer me some insight, tried briefly Googling the issue earlier but didn't come across anything.

What's a good replacement, and I'd assume I'd have to replace my mobo?

The old Agena chips were well known for a translation lookaside buffer problem, causing crashes in rare events. Your chip is a B3 revision and doesn't have that particular flaw, but it does have the other flaws of mediocre single thread performance, abysmal clock scaling, and poor power efficiency.

    A few comparisons:

vs Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Same die size, same core count, 200mhz slower clock, basically what it originally competed with):
    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/21?vs=53

vs AMD Phenom II X4 965BE (What superseded it a few months afterwards):
    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/21?vs=102

vs Intel Core i5 750 (Similar clock, same core count, same price point at the time):
    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/21?vs=109

vs Intel Core i5 2500K Stock (Latest iteration of the i5, same core count):

RAM almost never comes with anything aside from a fan, Newegg sells the G.Skill Ripjaw X series memory modules though. They are like 80 bucks for 2x4GB.

He was kidding, the memory is called "Ripjaws", not "Raipjaws"...
