Are many people unsubing due to the pvp changes

I personally have enough of the new pvp system in patch 1.2, and I have witness a lot of people on official forums telling that they will unsub, so I am wondering is this typical qq or just reasonble sentance since pvp is broken at the moment.

I personally liked patch 1.1.5. pvp since you didn't have to get all the medals to get max commendations, now I have to grind for 8 medals to get commendations.

Anyone have stop playing tor because of the new pvp or that is just the rant of few people on official website ?

    Cheers,

I have been reading region chat on my server. It seems everyone is quitting because of the 1.2 changes to PVP :<

Its alot easier to get 8 medals now though, so really its still easy enough to get your 8 for commendations. I think most of the complaining was because rated warzones didnt make the patch, which i was a tad disapointed with to, but i'd rather wait until it is done right. For me its probly just alot of QQ, and most of the people won't actually quit over it.

Well fleet population on my server was around 150-200 on the day of the 1.2 patch, which was nice and higher compared to before.

On saturday and sunday it dropped from 150 to around 50 on saturday and yesterday evening in prime time.

3 of the biggest guilds on my server just disbanded and I see their remaining players with no guild tags. Fleet chat has everyone saying that everyone they know has quit.

PvPers are like locusts. They will return when another pvp change pleases them.

No need to insult other players and forum members. PVP players are most definitely players and not locusts. -Cula

In proven games, maybe. But TOR is far from it.

Post constructively otherwise it's just bashing. -Cula

    *gasps*

QQers on the main forums? really?

    *facepalms*

thats all there ever is in that rotting cesspit of huanity, in Themepark MMO's PVERs(whatever they might arge) are the minority so their numbers wont make much difference to your whole server count.

alot of PVPers were actually raving about the event yesterday in our servers since its got tattoiine and the Den rocking with world PVP

    Keep it civil. -Cula

People should be quitting because of shitty pvp balance not stupid wz medals. I cap my 8 medals in the first 3 minutes of every game, it is extremely easy...

I'm open to give them a chance to prove themselfs, and they aren't doing a bad job at it so far.

Just my personal opinion, unless you are someone that likes a ton of alts and likes collection/achievement type stuff, I'm not sure they really added all that much to keep you around. PvP wise its pretty forgettable, and I would imagine that is where the bulk of the complaints are coming from. I suspect the PvE bored posts to pick up rather quickly as the daily area is almost laughable in how easy and dull it is, and one instance and one Raid will probably go quickly.

Oddly enough the more casual crowd probably will love the patch, minus some of the rediculous pricing with the legacy system.

My guess is any noticeable drop in numbers is mostly from the PvP crowd, and frankly I can't realy blame them.

After they changed expertise and nerfed the shit out of comm gains, I don't blame them, playing Republic went from bearable to an exercise in masochism.

The fall of subscription based MMOs ... too much drama around subscriptions.

Why do ppl want to play EQ MMOs for PvP ? Just pick one of the MOBA games that focuses on PvP. You will be able to enjoy higher quality PvP and won't have to pay monthly subscription and won't have to farm mindlessly.

My part in this story has been decided. And I will play it well.

    GW2 Is coming

Please keep all GW2 discussion in the GW2 section of the forums. No need to bring it into the the TOR boards. ~Rag

Sorry, it was more a notifcation about his comment than an attempt at a discussion. But yeah, noted.

I've followed this game for years before release, bought the CE as soon as it was available and booked time off work to play on release. Despite all the moaners and complaints about the game on launch I thoroughly enjoyed it and think not only was the launch very smooth but the content upon launch was admirable. I didn't care when they made mistakes *cough ilum cough*, I didn't care when people cried about the lack of content / class balance or whatever else seemed to be irritating them. Bioware seemed to be keen to listen to the community and tried to make amends where they could, the owned up to mistakes and because I don't have this ridiculous level of self entitlement that the majority of the community has I had no problem with this.

The changes to PvP in 1.2 have taken quite a bit of my faith away from Bioware and I had my first thought of cancelling after the patch came out. I have no problem with the rated wz's being pulled, it's not great but it's understandable but the state of PvP now is absolutely shocking. Previously I'd have no problem in joining up solo and having some fun with people on my server, sure there were the normal crowd of "omg noob l2p!" in some games but nothing some gentle sarcasm didn't solve. I didn't care if our team lost a game or if people weren't in great gear because I was still getting a decent level of reward and it encouraged me to not only help myself perform but to try and get my team to play more as a unit. There was still a proverbial carrot available for doing well and you could use that to bolster other people and help keep focus / morale at a decent level.

Now that has absolutely 100% gone.

I'm on the imperial side and we're fortunate to have a reasonable ratio with the republic, we also have a few VERY active republic pvp guilds which is unfortunately causing some problems. Because a lot of players have the mentality that pugs cannot beat a premade if they see an emote from a member of these guilds they just leave the warzone and re queue, unfortunately I can't really blame them at this point. Why bother fighting when you're likely to get rolled over and get zero reward for your efforts, sure you might be able to play an amazing solo performance against them but it doesn't matter. The game will end and you'll get zero to very little for your efforts.

The knock on effect here is less people are joining for PvP, the gear gap between the premades and the pugs is getting more and more obvious which is just exasperating the situation. It's drastically changed how people view pvp on my server, I'm fortunate enough to be in a very good guild that frequently forms groups for pvp but even then trying to get the other 4 players to care can be an uphill battle.

No one is asking for handouts but currently there is a very low level of motivation for pvp, it didn't strike me as overly easy to get geared up before 1.2 and considering this is "off season" I would have thought by making it easier for people to obtain BM / WH, people would start the first season with a similar level of gear and there would be a lot less "omg nerf *insert class here*" type posts because the gear gap would be lesser - heck it would be easier to notice any imbalances prior to the first season so they could be addressed before the rated wz's get rolled out.

    TLDR:

    I'm sad about pvp.

My server, which is back to having a queue at peak times, says no. The lack of rated bgs certainly pissed people off and the healing nerf was a little extreme in pvp, but it will balance out just like always. Every patch in every MMO there is the loud group of people who bitch about every single change made. People will adjust and the QQ will die down soon enough. The folks who unsub due to one change are insane.

What exactly was changed that made it this way? Getting medals doesn't give a lot of valor/whatever it's called anymore? If so, that sucks, and why was that changed?

Basically if you lose you get nothing or not very much. There are a load of screenshots all over the place of people who have had good individual performances but are getting zero reward - literally zero - no valor, no credits, no xp, no commendations. You need 3 medals now to qualify for any reward so people joining mid game tend to not care what happens or are more interested in getting their 3 medals ASAP compared to trying to win. You are penalised so much for losing that if it looks like the game is going badly or you're against a tough team people are just leaving the warzone, of course this means even the people who want to stay and have a bash are completely shafted due to team number imbalance.

It's basically a mess right now, mainly because of player behaviour but really it's not that shocking people are playing this way.
