I'd say the only band that qualifies as Space Metal is Rosetta.

I mean, they do call themselves "Metal for Astronauts".

Apparently time has a release date now. Here's a preview track, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR00hMM75Yw, crap quality though.

Star One. They refer to themselves as Space Metal as well.

There's a couple of great songs on there. Might be one for the Dan Swano fans as well. Really enjoy the song where he's going off into the deep end.

Main problem I have with Arjen Lucassen's stuff is that in the end most of it turns out to be fairly same-ish.

I had no idea how familiar you were with the post-metal scene and since in my experience Rosetta tends to be fairly popular/well known among post-metallers I assumed you weren't that familiar.

problem is i don't have any friends/ associates who like the music i like. so for the most part i stumble around in the dark finding stuff. i just hadn't happened to come across this band yet.

So, nearly 1/3 of the year is over and we've had some great album releases so far: new Lunar Aurora, new Christian Mistress and new Sigh come to mind. Though I asked this question already not too long ago, I think it's time to ask again: "what are your favorite metal releases of 2012 so far?" I feel that the 3 I mentioned above, along with maybe 1 other, are the only ones that really stuck with me after months of listening, others just got boring much to quickly.

Absolutely nothing so far this year has stood out for me, which is somewhat saddening. I'm hoping this changes in a few months though, seems to be a few releases I'm looking forward to later this year.

Can't really remember any really awesome releases this year either to be honest. Though I haven't really kept pace with all releases either past half year or so.

Despite that; time for something a bit more cheerful than all that doom and gloom

    oh wait...

Definately become one of my favourites after seeing them live last year, was a damn great performance imo

Just came across these guys the other day. Disappointed to hear that they only have one album.

Bjorn can truly make any song he graces into gold.

I'm a fan of Triptykon too. I also had the chance to see them live at a festival last summer. It was a good performance although the crowd weren't as enthusiastic as they were with other acts.

I love and hate Devin Townsend at the same time.
