The original ending for ME3 involved the dark energy and that the reapers were connected to it.
And we have Dr Verner working on such theories.

Could have had a really interesting scientific ending.

    Speaking Reegar Carbine.
Its a shotgun that uses electrical currents.
Does it do increased damage on shields and barriers, does it do additional damage against Geth enemies?

Aye if memory serves the original ending for ME3 involved finding out that the Reapers were not the real threat, but that the use of dark energy in mass effect fields was slowly tearing the galaxy apart, or something like that.

    @ Gravath:

The Reegar Carbine is one of the best weapons exceptionally effective against shields and barriers, making the weapon a high-risk/high-reward proposition against strong enemies and one of the best weapons in the game. Against heavily shielded enemies like Atlases, Banshees and Primes it takes seconds to destroy their shields on low difficulties leaving them with only armor. You can increase the effectiveness of the Reegar against armor but it is best used against barriers, shields, and health. Due to its range cap, it is -not-recommended to use this weapon on open maps.
    EDIT: Ah, here we go.

    http://www.strategyinformer.com/news...fect-3-endings
The Dark Energy was a force that was going to consume everything. According to Karpyshyn, "The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of its genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping Dark Energy's spread."

The original choice was between killing the Reapers and trying to find a way to stop the Dark Energy threat with what little time was left before it consumed the galaxy, or, "Sacrifice humanity, allowing them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will justify the means."

It does 3x damage vs shields/barriers, no additional damage vs Geth.

Disruptor Ammo on a Reegar Carbine almost seems overkill. XD

Well it wasnt persay Bill Murray in a role as much as it was "cast randomly stumbles upon Troll Murray." as he didnt play a role but played as himself, chilling at home, trolling teenagers.
Good movie, but not a Murray Movie.

That wouldn't really help anything. As it isn't always the best to clump up with the package in order to defend it. You are better off doing it when the package is first picked up. But as the person goes towards the extraction zone it is far better to stop at a choke point or cover then to just keep backpedaling or following them.

Points aren't really worth anything so there isn't really a big need to add them. They are really just a epeen thing.

You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."

You didn't even bother to read the quote I had in my post, did you? I was responding to someone who complained that no one ever defends him when he picks up the package and he wanted more incentive to contribute to the objective. An area around the package that gave points to anyone contributing would solve his issue. The area need not be so small that everyone is easily picked off by a pyro or rocket trooper. It could be fairly large, even. Just so long as it keeps people from being a map away.

  19. #7399
Rhole's right, I doubt points would make anyone suddenly decide to help with an objective if they weren't helping before. I also don't see it being very comforting if you get points for trying to carry the objective, but your team still fails the mission.

Also, escorting the guy with the package isn't always the right thing to do. I think a lot of times, especially with banshees, that it's better to try to get aggro and run them away.

Not that I'm saying it shouldn't give points. I just don't think it'd really do anything.

*sigh* Do you have an alternative? I find giving alternatives is preferable to shooting down the only suggestions being given. *shrug* That's just me though.

I don't know. It could give bonus money to anyone who contributed once it's been retrieved. Or bonus XP. *shrug*
