    Yep, I know =[
Just let me know when you come over to Brazil and I'll have you shopping some things for me =p
Yeah, just tested some flacs with as high as I could dare pump through my ears, and it was pretty damn loud with no distortion, I think. So it's good, Im never going to hear that loud again anyway
While we are at it, what is the difference between having an amplifier and setting a gain value with an equalizer for example? Just out of curiosity

Someone like Tetris, Cyanotical, or Marest can probably answer that better but...

I would think it has to do with the fact that an amplifier, as mentioned before, can power higher quality/powered headphones, so it's more than just the volume.

Use the Xonar's equalizer and leave the amp/speakers at reference EQ.

As for portable music, you first need a mp3 player that uses a decent sound chip. Something from Cowon, Sony or Zune...but there are others as well. iPods and iPhones have pretty much proven to have garbage music playback quality. My iPod Classic (7th gen) sounded Cowon J3 literally worlds apart...not to mention the fully customizable EQ on Cowon products pretty much blows away most competition. Pair it with some decent IEM's check out this insane guide: http://www.head-fi.org/t/541204/conc...june-23th-2012
Or if you prefer headphones: http://www.head-fi.org/t/433318/shoo...added-04-29-12

My iPod from 2005 FINALLY died a few months back, so I have reverted to using my HTC Inspire 4G for my music listening, as it has a full-size headphone port.

I use the average boring headphone port on my Motorola Razr Maxx, but then again I listen to music through some earbuds. But that's changing soon. It's a great phone =P

Can't wait till they update it to 4.0.

Why were you using an iPod over that in the first place?

    My portable setup:

    Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250
    Android 4.1 stock JRO03C
    PowerAmp (http://powerampapp.com/)
Either Sony MDR-XD200 headphones (el cheapo!) or the buds that came with the Nexus.

Not super impressive, but it works. I don't think I'd want to carry an amp and super expensive headphones around anyway.

Nope! We chose them because it's a nice phone, my sister's has been good to her (just died the other night though), and it was free with a $25 back thingy. So meh.

But I had an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Samsung Impression before this. -.- My sister and I must have gone through 3 or 4 each over the course of 2 years because the bloody touch screen would never consistently work for more than a couple months then start dying out. /ugh

    BUT.

Both of my first cell phones, first was a Samsung from 2004, and second a Samsung from 2007, still work... TO THIS DAY.

Why would you admit to having Nokia shares? They didn't fall as hard as RIMM, but they are still junk status and I would divest all my NOK immediately.
