Trying to get stone guard [10] tanking down.

We are going to attempt stone guard this weekend and I am trying to get my head wrapped around how to tank it.

Simply put.. and I am wondering if this is the right way of thinking about it:

Petrified guardian should be tanked next to guardian that just finished petrifying.


Is this basically the best way to look at the fight when it comes to tanking?

That pretty much covers it.

Pretty much. You just always want to have the petrifying dog with the lowest energy dog.

We had a stretch of about half of the fight where we did't change dogs at all.

One more thing,

On the initial pull MT gets 2 guardian's OT gets 1 guardian. What if the OT's guardian gets petrified? So you Swap but doesn't that guarantee 2 overloads are going to go off one owning the raid?

He means you have to alternate the unpetrified dogs in order to make sure the one that petrified becomes the highest energy.

So if Jasper and Jade are on MT, and Amethyst on OT petrifies, OT taunts Jade, waits a while, the MT and OT swap Jade for Jasper then you're back on track.

Lets say you have Jade, Cobalt and Amethyst - Now Jade and Cobalt is on the left, and Amethyst is on the right - Let one tank, tank 2 and one tank 1. And lets say you get Jade petrifacation, then get Jade + random together on either one of the tanks, on 50 energy change the random boss with the other boss so you have Jade on 50 energy and the new boss on 0 energy - this way your tanks can easily control when they are going to blow up. This is what we did and with this tac we used 5 trys (new guild)

Also a small hint, make taunt macros

something like

/target XXXXX Guardian
/cast Your Taunt Ability
/targetlasttarget

Fast boss switching is key to this fight.

Instead of making a new thread I have a question about Chains.

From what I've heard the easiest way to deal with chains is to have both people chained to stand near each other and then when jade starts petrifying the two people spread and break the chains (15 stacks.)

Is that how you guys deal with it?

You want to do it on Jasper, but yes, that's the easiest way to handle it.

So spread out and break when Jasper starts petrifying. Also, should the two chained people be away from the raid or is it just personal damage done to them.

jasper chains is the ability, and it's personal damage and if done during jasper petrification it hits for very little.
