Less than half the population is registered to vote, and a large portion of the non registered population are underage. A larger % of registered voters voted this election than did in the past election. That is the beauty of this country. You have the freedom to choose. You can choose to vote or choose not to vote. Voting is not mandatory. That is why the republicans are so gung ho on restricting voters with voter ID laws. The create a solution for something there is not a problem for. People get prosecuted for voter fraud every year. 6-12 convictions yearly out of 110+ million votes cast. This is not an issue. America is a center left nation on pretty much every issue.


I do agree people need to wake up and pay attention. The more involved the better things will become. Just here in Michigan, our governor signed a bill that where he can place an "emergency financial manager" in any city that falls below his set financial standards. This person that he appoints supersedes elected officials and can do whatever he or she feels is necessary to get the city in order. The only thing these guys have done is void all union contracts, fire a tons of city workers and brought in private contractors that cost the city more. We turned out to vote in a big way to overturn this policy. All the while hearing our vote doesn't count, we have no power and the usual crap you hear from disinterested people. We got it done because we said enough. The more you know the more you want to be involved to make things better. Hopefully the Bush years and the teabaggers have woken Americans up.

I want to talk about my jobs

When i was work for those many years is was a hard and painful jobs but is was a union salary of $45.50 an hrs and that is good money why because i roses to the rank and did my job well but i notice there was something i didn't like

one day i have union duties and * i am not going to name it * told the people who show up to get illegal immigrant to join the union at this job site, That right to have these low life people to join the union why so they can look good be welcome anyone even illegal now i didn't think of it and i did what i was told,But now looking back is made me sick that all those years working my a## and some smuck illegal get a free pass, And the disturbing part is that when the jobs order come in guess who got the first crack * the illegal * even thought they denied this practices but i have friend in the union told me they still do this,

And then i got hurt i told you what the union did to me and is disgusting me even more that they can treat me and that i'm a shame that i do collected benefit from the state, That i resided in and i don't consider it freeloading or mooching because i pay into it and that my argument when i files my taxes..............................

but i be damn to say that Illegal NEVER contribute a thing because they don't file taxes they cheat it

WIC
Rental Assistance

Yet your republicans refuse to bring laws or vote on laws that would stop employers from hiring illegals. Laws that would incriminate business owners for hiring illegals. Set up improved worker identification systems so illegals can be weeded out of the system better. The problem is not that they come her and take jobs, its that employers of these jobs do not want to pay fair wages and benefits to hire Americans. If those jobs paid at least minimum wage you could have some interest from people here who need work. Stop the source of these low wage jobs that attract illegals here and there will no longer be a problem. Once you stop that, you won't have as many manipulating the system.

And I can come up with another unproven untraceable anecdote about how unions do not want to have any part in illegal workers in their ranks. It is not hard to make up stuff on the internet.

To be fair, while I definitely agree with "socialist" stuff like nationalized healthcare (honestly, I just want to fuck every insurance company on the planet with a giant, barbed, flaming tire iron), I don't like the Obamacare implementation.

I'd like to say the Democrats would be more likely to work with the GOP than the GOP work with the Democrats... but I just don't trust politicians. Not in our political environment.

I think the OBamacare Implementation is bad, yet it is what the GOP preached about healthcare reform for two decades, until the Dems were willing to go with it. Then suddenly it is horrible. I'd rather we had a Single Payer system.

I don't really care what the implementation is as long as it's not fucking Communist (hurr hurr, specialists get the same pay as a garden-variety physician!) and it fucks over insurance companies.

Yes, those evil socialist utopias. They spend less money per person than our government on healthcare, have better response and cover everyone in the country. Of course they have less plastic surgery and other things, but that really doesn't bother me.

The tax rate has nothing to do with Romney, and the reason he pays so little are his massive charitable donations to the Mormon church. Obama nearly pays the same rate for similar reasons. Seeing as how we're paying 8% of the budget as interest on the debt, perhaps its time for the left to figure out an easy loophole to close here.

I already did. Eliminate Capital Gains being different than Income Tax, and then eliminate churches as charitable organizations, although the charities they run can still be donated to.

And? The Money I pay for my sandwich at lunch was already taxed on my income rate, so why do I need to pay sales tax? You aren't taxing the corporate rate twice, you are taxing the corporation once (although they most likely wrote most if not all of it off) and then you are taxing the shareholders for what they are payed from the corporation. I don't see an issue there.

Edit -> It is like saying that I should only pay 15% on my personal income taxes because the corporation that pays me was already taxed on that money.

I don't consider donations to churches to be charitable contributions, it's one thing I'd like changed. If you want to donate to a charity... donate to the charity itself, not some church.
