I never played D2 becuase I had already started playing MMOs pretty hardcore back then but I heard it was a great game. So when Blizzard said I could get D3 for free with the annual pass I figured what the hell Im not quitting WoW anytime soon and did. Thank God I didnt actually pay for this steaming pile of poo. Made the mistake of picking a monk for my first class at launch and then witch doctor. Wish someone would have told me the only correct class to play at launch was Demon Huter. When I got into Inferno a week after launch it was just impossible. I remember even in a full group we couldnt even beat the 3 hammer trolls at the chapel where the final sword fragment was. The first time I tried The Butcher, again in a full group we quit after 27 wipes. Also the grouping system was terrible as you were forced to only group with other melees as all the Wiz/DHs were loling there way through Acts 3/4 and had no reason to join public games and carry melees.

The game was also impossible to play as a melee becuase of the giant Catch 22 Blizzard thought it would be cute to add. You couldnt beat act 1 unless you had gear from Acts 3/4 which you couldnt afford because you were stuck in Act 1 because you couldnt kill anything to progress without better gear. Also farming for 2months with a MF of 350 and only getting a single item worth 20 mil gold? Yeah brilliant job with the loot tables Blizzard. Thats like going to work and not getting paid. Also when I started there was like 40,000 public games and now theres only 400ish. They sold what like 15 million copies? I doubt theres even 100k people per region still playing. Blizzard definitely laughed all the way to the bank on this game.

    2. SW:ToR
Was a huge Star Wars fan so picking this game up was a no brainer. Well obviously I proved I had no brain for buying it. The AH didnt work right for like the first month. 99% of everyone who got the game and had any sort of PvP skill rolled Empire so as a Republic we pretty much got steamrolled in every single PvP match. I thought Alliance was bad but Republic takes the cake. There were days where I would play 20-30 matches and lose every single one of them. Also once you got to 50 the game was impossible to play becauyse BioWare refused to add a cross server LFG system. I guess they decided the best way to make a MMO was to look at other popular and successful MMOs and then refuse to add any elements of those games that made people like them. I loved logging in every day, sitting in fleet for 4 hours doing nothing but spam "Gunslinger LFG" and then log out after getting nothing. Also becuase there was no cross server PvP as well it was again impossible to play after I got off work because you never got into a match from 3-6am. Funny how at the same time range I could log into WoW and be either in a group or PvPing even that early in the morning.

    3. Aion
Graphics looked awesome is the only reason I bought it. Never made it past level 30. The grind in Everquest paled in comparrison to this game. Sad too cause I actually liked a lot of the classes. Flying combat sounded like a cool idea on paper but was horrible in game. It gave ranged class such an advantage it was retarded. Obviously all they had to do was sit back and pew pew while meless had to figure out where the hell they were and then if you did manage to find them you were half dead anyways so it didnt matter.
    Can't disagree with that list

Two and three may be up for grabs, but first place solidly belongs to Final Fantasy XIV. The amount of development time, money and the fact they had a previous MMO (FFXI) to learn how the genre works...it's difficult to believe it launched in the state that it was. Not only was the game terrible in every measurable statistic and gameplay feature when the game did work, the bugs were outlandish. There was a bug where sometimes when you died you couldn't release or be resurrected. Your character was simply permanently dead with no fix and you had to delete that character to free up the slot. Astounding.

Another one who didn't play since patches 1.04 and 1.05.

We now talk adaptable Monster Power levels (0-10) or crafting Legendary Rings (bind on account !) with new crafting machines that need to be put together with key drops from new Elites and open up new boss fights in the end game (6 of them actually).

So another one who has NO clue what he's talking about in present day Diablo 3...

BTW Anyone can now advance in Inferno (MP0) without ever buying a thing on the AH...

So you talk about a game that changed greatly and you have no clue ... In fact by posting like this you rate games without even playing them in their latest form: the sickness of the internet.

Yeah, Bioware tried to move away from things that were present in the other MMOs as they were too mainstream. Things such as...success.

I like Panda don't get me wrong here, it's real good.

But imagine if they had taken all the energy and money put into making D3 and put it into WOW, I mean D3 was done right away.

the criteria for this just seems to be "what game i didnt like" - Diablo 3 was in no way a failure it sold millions - Swtor didnt sell millions but was actually a half decent game, so what is the criteria for judging these

Have to agree on this one... the game had pretty much everything for becoming the next big mmo but crap balancing made large pvp only about the side who had the most warriorpriests/docs and mages to AOE down everything in seconds with.

That they let the horrible balance go on for so long that people just left. A very good game that got handled extremely poorly.

    2) D3, what is there left to say, i'm back running D2 again.

    3) SWtor. meh.. just meh,

it gets worse ... if you know all these games changed and the OP just complains about things you don't even find anymore in present D3...

I think every time they say "this might be the one game to topple WOW" they are just dooming the game.
All these games with new modern graphics, and the "great" theme of Star Wars, and they are just junk now.

People just need to get on board with WOW and quit paying for pretenders.

I will agree D3 was a failure, but i don't understand my self logging occasionally after some patches and playing for weeks and weeks, even now that i am focused on WoW again . It seems D3 gets better and better, or say it otherwise less worse by the time ?

Daikatana : greatest letdown i had in games
Star Wars Battlefront : no comment
    Wargasm : the RTS sarcasm!
warhammer 40k: fire warrior : Total letdown too
Test Drive 4 : My old favorite driving series just died because of it

Now..there are worse games out there that i have played too , but i can't remember them because there were
THAT BAD THAT MY BRAIN DELETED THE MEMORY!

SWTOR is considered a fail because it was made with huge production costs and its main purpose was to demolish wow. That's what EA hoped and hyped the game to kingdom-come for. For that purpose, it failed utterly.

For the purpose of being an average game, it's good enough.

Lots of initial sales but once people saw all the bugs and how horrible the game was they quit. Look through this post and how many people picked Diablo 3. Go read the offical forums a few months back at how angry everyone was. There was like a 25 page post titled "What did you spend your RMAH earnings on" 90% of the answers were "I bought GW2" Does that sound like people who were happy with the game?

The fact that Diablo 3 sold so many copies yet so few still play it is why its such an obvious flop. If it was a success why doesnt it have 8-9 million people still logging in like WoW does?

I played the game at launch.
The game changed and btw on Xfire samples: D3 has around 60% of WOW player numbers. Talking western figures as Xfire is a western sample, that means ... 2-3 million people play it these days ....

I think a LOT of players play D3 now and then. it is no MMO you need to keep playing either to get attunements or reputation grinds.

YOu play D3 to have fun and you can NOW down DIablo 3 in Inferno in normal open group levels without ever going to the AH. Ever.

It is another story with MP5 to MP 10 though, but everyone can now CHOOSE his/her own challenge.

Learn to play the D3 game patch 1.05 before judging....

guess you didnt play a monk at release? I never beat Act 2 until the RMAH was released because I couldnt afford the gear to do so using in game gold. I farmed for 7-8 hours a day and got nothing so dont say I wasnt putting in the effort. Nothing ever sold and I could never afford gear to to even not get 1 shot by the wasps in Act 2. Im starting to think that the game actually launched with hidden Monster Power and it was set to 10.

How can you be disappointed by LOL ?! The gameplay is so easy and straightforward that you may as well be disappointed by Tetris.

    FOUKING

Hellgate : London. Never waited a game soooooo much : trailers were AMAZING, the universe looked awesome adn Bill "Diablo II" Roper was at command !!!
But it was complete crap. When I heared Bill Roper bashing DIII (which is also not good but still far far far better) I died a little.

I even own one of the Sideshow gorgeous figure they made before the release (still awesome in my gaming room, but when I have to explain that it is from an obscur super bad game...)

THIS game taught me a lesson, I never jump in the hype wagon for a game now, NEVER (or just for wow addon ). You killed my innocence Bill !!
