    Do you enjoy your job?

Right now I'm working my first job just to get some experience and money, I don't want to do this forever but I don't know what I actually want to do for a living. Got me thinking about how much I really want to get a job I enjoy and how much I would dread getting up everyday for a job I hated for 40-50 years.

Which position are you in? how many of you can honestly say you enjoy your job? please explain what you do for a living and why you do or don't enjoy it.
Thanks, interested to read the replies.

    No,

I'm an inventory specialist @ Walmart Canada making minimum wage. The best part of my job is the consistent weekly hours, and not having to deal with the retail side of retail (customer service & sales).

It's a no because it's only a temporary stepping stone position I'm only doing for the spending money. I'm finishing school soon and looking to hop into a career in business / accounting in the near future.

    Yup, I do.
I'm a snowboard instructor, which is absolutely amazing. Love the sport, and even though you don't get to shred while instructing beginners, it's very rewarding to seem them going from "not even being able to stand" to "shredin' like a bawss"

Before that, though, I've worked as a waiter (loathed it), and then as a cashier / shift manager at a fast food joint (hated it).

Well, technically I don't have a job on paper.

I'm on welfare and work non-paid 3 days a week. 1 day of cooking for people with mental illness, 1 day of being a computer technician and 1 day of sorting some minor office jobs.

I enjoy them because they keep me sane, they give a bit of breath instead of being home and they allow ones mind to expand a bit. And of course they allow one to meet people.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

I do, yes. I'm a proofreader atm, and proofing news articles from various areas is kind of nice, I learnt a lot while working here; also I'm up to date with a lot of stuff. And my English is getting better by the day

Somewhat. If I get landed responsibility over something complex and challenging and new I am very happy, but unfortunately the nature of insurance auditing is most repetitive. Not to mention the whole office politics thing is just so tiresome to deal with.

I'm a stay at home dad, and I love it some days, others not so much. I'm not able to work because of medical issues, so my wife is the bread winner. It's nice to be home with the kids and whatnot, but other times I get a bit stir-crazy

I love my job, just past the 10 year mark working at a small print shop as a graphic designer.

Part time project manager at TNS Sifo, the diversity of the clients makes for great variation which keeps it interesting, every project is different, I got cool colleagues as well so that is what makes my job enjoyable, not earning that much though since I don't work fulltime, I'm studying at the same time.

Could see myself working here for a few years but it's not optimal economically. I could earn more elswhere so I don't see myself working here 5 years from now.
The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

One does not simply enjoy the job.

Need to add a 'sometimes' option. Because sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. But nonetheless, I'm pretty grateful for it.

I love my job as a senior software engineer. Been working in the field since I was 16, or for about 13 years now.

Enjoy? No. Like? Yes. Enjoy is too strong a word for me to vote a positive on the question asked.

I'm self employed, started and run my own business in a field that I'm passionate about, so I guess I can say I do a job that I really enjoy... not quite my dream job but realistically not miles away either.

I'm a student but I do research in a lab that I'll consider my "job" even though I don't get paid.

It's okay, the erratic hours (because of my school schedule) are annoying. I don't want to do lab work forever lol, it's kind of annoying to be honest, it gets old really quickly. I mean, most of the things are "washing" and "drying" stuff which are just hours of little/no work while something is in the centrifuge or oven and you have to wait around for it. It's annoying lol.

Not in the least. But it puts food on the table, and is reasonably secure, so I don't need to enjoy it.
