Finally have the money for first build!

    Budget: £950/$1500USD
    Resolution: No idea
Games / Settings Desired: Games like WoW, Skyrim, etc on Max (hopefully)
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc): Nothing really
    Country: United Kingdom
Parts that can be reused: Mouse
Do you need an OS?: Windows 7
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?: Need monitor, keyboard (a decent mechanical one) and speakers aren't that important if not getting them could increase pc performance.

Any more info needed please say

I would take a look at the monthly builds. That'll give you a good start.

Overall performance... excellent. I am sure there are some tweaks you could make, I just picked this quickly.

I don't have an SSD, they are over rated imo. My mate has one, he has windows on it... and yeah it boots up quicker than mine... but a couple of seconds. And he has games on there... yeah his loading screens are shorter... but if you really wanna pay like £70 for 120gb capacity go for it for quicker loading screens got for it lol.

Baring in mind if you can get a copy of Win7 elsewhere for cheaper you could save yourself some money there and put it into buying an SSD.

This will run anything at 60 FPS High settings. I also included a mechanical keyboard.

I know that's not a mechanical keyboard but those will cost you at least double of this one and the X4 is still a very good keyboard with no ghosting. (perhaps you can get a good mechanical later on?) Either way this build should have pretty much all you're asking for and right on the £950 budget. If you don't need a DVD drive then you can save a little there.

Perfect build but I'd prefer the Asus DC2 instead of MSI TF because of the noise. Still I would take an Asus board over a MSI..

I've heard of the MSI 7850 TF being a little louder but not the 7870, however the Asus card is fine too but it's also an extra ~£20. This generation MSI is fine and that particular model isn't bad at all. Unfortunately the Asus LK board puts the build over the budget and I'm not really a fan of the LX.

The Asus LK/LX boards are shit. If a msi board has proper heatsinks, the msi would be better.

Which is one of the reasons the build has a MSI board in it. The LK power design isn't that great but if you're not a serious overclocker it's not really a big issue.

Well MSI board's PCB is just genious. http://content.hwigroup.net/images/p...z77_mpower.jpg

The resistors are not sticking 5 meters like Asus and Asus uses a weak pcb :/

Thanks guys for all the help think I'll go with notarget's build. Will post some feedback and pictures when it's done (should be near end of December, still waiting for some xmas money :P!)
